  • In this episode, I meet Tami and her dog, Isaboo. Isaboo has been terrorizing the dog park by biting everyone! Isaboo has even drawn blood.
The dog park community has almost reached their breaking point and may have Tami leave the community.
    Can I solve this case?

So true! A cuple of months ago I was walking my dog (he is a big dog), we got to an open park, I stoped to change him into a longer leash and a woman started shouting at me not to unleash him, I told her I was just changing his leash and that he was really friendly and she said “Oh, but my dog is really agressive”, and her dog was unleash 🤦🏻‍♀️

If I had a dog that is aggressive/biting, I would “always” keep my dog in a leash until I get help in training. Having a loose dog that bites is irresponsible and NOT okay!!!! The dog made someone bleed, It can be dangerous for small kids, I don’t understand how this was allowed in the first place from the group, but mostly the dog owner. The same with basically EVERY dog owner who can't control their dogs. It's the HUMANS FAULT, not the owners. People need to stop buying dogs without the knowledge of how to actually own one. I have a relative who likes to call herself a dog/animal expert, and she has NO control over her dogs. She constantly shouts/yells at one who doesn't respond to her commands (who wants to respond or agree to anger/anxiety?) and the other who she rewards with food when it acts out or is super nervous/anxious.
People need to stop buying rescue dogs unless you know WTF you're doing.

Over the years I have trained both dogs and horses. In nearly all cases it has been the owner/family that needed more instruction, training or re-enforcement than the animal, usually because they love the animal so much they can't bring themselves to be "mean" and correct their beloved pet. It's not easy to walk that line of tough love with strangers but it is so worth it when you see the animal understand and even find comfort and a new sense of security and trust as they learn the boundaries.

As soon as I hear a dog owner introduce their dog as a “rescue”, I’m pretty sure that means they are going to excuse all sorts of bad /aggressive behaviour, because of the “terrible trauma” their dog has experienced. One of Cesar’s great insights is that dogs need discipline (structure) even before love /affection. I appreciate Cesar so much for bringing clarity to the whole dog world!

The dog is intelligent and willing to please humans, it just isn’t being trained/handled properly.
I deal with aggressive animals at work and 99% behavioral problems are handler’s fault. Consistency consistency etc. Usually as soon as a dog is out of sight of the owner and after 2 minutes on leash or whatever they “get it” and stop acting up.
I think this poor little toother is just doing what he thinks his owner wants because she is responding with excitement etc. instead of actually correcting them.

They are amazing. Not as good as if you had them yourself lol but they are wonderful. My male has been attacked on 4 separate occasions at dog parks etc and he just runs to me to take care of it. There should be a dog drivers license, and people should be obliged to take the basic course in dog education before getting the license to own a dog.
When I decided to get a dog, from a shelter, I spent 6 months, at least, watching Cesar episodes, and reading up on how to handle a dog. When I finally found my lil friend, a Jack Russell Terrier, about 4 years old est. when he was found some months before, we spent hours every day during the first year together in a park building both mine and his skills, and in the process developed a strong relationship and mutual trust.
He's been with me since 2016, and is basically always raising people's eyebrows for being so calm, obedient, and well behaved, no matter if we're in a café, bar, bus, train, etc. In civilised places, he knows the rules, and when we're out in the fields and forest, he can be as much dog he wants to, living his best life.

I find it phenomenal watching Cesar work. Every time I think "this one is going to be hard", and straight away I'm proved wrong as Cesar immediately takes control and the dog acts like he's always known him. The way the little dog surrenders and sits there; so placid and compliant, after moments earlier being yappy and aggressive. This really is amazing. It's a shame this was a shortened episode. I wonder if Tammy was able to master what Cesar was showing her?

Amazes me that small dogs get away with so much and get so little consequences yet do more damage than most big dogs. They are still dogs and need to be treated a trained the same as any other big dog. There are literally no excuses to allow a dog to get this bad. If you don't have the time or energy, you don't need to own a dog simple as that.

He's so Alpha, he's so dominant, he's so.... I've heard so many bad things..." And I say "Right. You were just complimenting my pack, & me walking them, now suddenly the guy who taught me how to keep my pack in control is the guy you 'heard so many bad things' about. I run into vicious dogs all of the time while walking mine, 99% of the owners do nothing to correct the behavior and just cross to the other side of the street, barely controlling them while you hold your breath it doesn't break loose.
It's the responsibility of the dog owner to properly train their dog, but since a lot do not it has forced states to have 30 day quarantine laws that after a dog bites someone he is taken from the owner for 30 days and if he is deemed violent is put down.
I feel so bad for these dogs but dog attacks are everywhere and most people are like this girl and just say they are sorry, but continue bringing a vicious dog to a social situation.

Tami is Neurotic herself. I adopted a shelter dog, Nana, that was a Shetland Sheep dog mix. She was very aggressive towards other dogs, due to being taken away from her mom too soon and being abused till 2 yrs of age. I learned quickly to exercise and walk her away from other people with dogs. She only had 1 dog friend in her whole life of 15 yrs., pet of neighbors that moved in shortly after we got her. First time she saw him, she literally had him by the neck, up against my garage. The owners were cool and slowly we introduced them. Nana tolerated him but he truly liked her. He’d still stop by my back gate to see her for a short time after she passed away. I’d show him the backyard and he’d look but not see her so he finally understood.
