As you can tell by the ending, they didn't know the show would continue. It's why in the final scene the crowd scene contains basically every character there is.
The grand curator, aka number 9 guy, has appeared in the shows multiple times, always been in the background in random crowd scenes as a little in joke and he finally got an actual role
This movie was absolutely perfect. The Feministas hilarious, I love the golf course chase, and how that damn leech was the dark one, the environmental message is there, but fun and not hammered into our skulls, the poker tournament was great, and the ending was perfect. I'm glad it wasn't the end though, and now, you get to experience the Comedy Central Era of the show.
The history of the Waterfall family in the show goes back even further than Old Man Waterfall being Zoidberg's lawyer in "A Taste of Freedom". In the earlier episode "The Birdbot of Ice-Catraz" (the one with the penguins on Pluto) Free Waterfall Sr. was the leader of the animal rights group. After he gets killed by the penguins, Old Man Waterfall (his father) turned up for a second and vowed to avenge his death. Even earlier than that, in "The Problem with Popplers", that hippie guy protesting against Popplers being eaten was Free Waterfall Jr. (he got eaten by Lrr if you recall, so yeah, they always die). _All_ of the Waterfalls are played by the same actor, Phil Hendrie (which is why Frida sounds noticeably masculine) and he also played the Encyclopod.
@@traviswhitfield8045 I definitely think he’ll be back on the writing team. Can’t have the guy who wrote every ending to the show not be here for it’s (probable) final end.
There're already people in this comments section spreading their own rhetoric, so that should tell you a lot, but if you choose to watch Steven Universe just know that the anti-SU crowd can be vicious and in turn the pro-SU crowd can be overdefensive (especially of some characters who come off as unlikable early on). I'd recommend the show, I think it's a blast, but I would not recommend interacting much with the fanbase (or hater-base). Forming your own opinions is the best way forward, and if you choose to watch it, I look forward to hearing your thoughts!
They suspected they were going to be picked up to continue by someone. Fox’s management had changed and they were the ones who approached them about the dvd movies and the ones who agreed to make 4. This was their way of testing the waters on bringing it back, maybe they were hoping for another Family Guy situation. Cartoon Network was also interested because reruns of futurama at the time were outperforming everything else, even Family Guy. SyFy was sorta interested but didn’t want to start programming for animation. Comedy Central, rich from South Park, ended up winning them over, but losing interest when it wasn’t the mega hit South Park was. They say in the dvd commentaries they were low on creative steam by the end of the Comedy Central run and were in need of a break anyways.
"Oh wait, thats invisibility", love Fry 🤣 I don't think coasters count as playing cards in texas hold-em, no matter how many kings or queens are on them, I am almost 99% certain 🙂
I was going to comment on the Waterfall family showing up before now but you already remembered well spotted. I love the don bot story line but my favourite part was when Linda joined Leela and gets radicalised in real time.
@Eric Reacts The Waterfall Family is literally curse 🤣 Old man waterfall from the episode "A Taste of Freedom " Then there's Free Waterfall Sr from the episode "The Birdbot of Ice-Catraz" Then there's Free Waterfall Jr from the episode "The Problem With Popplers " An then there's Frida Waterfall and Hutch Waterfall. There is also another member of the Waterfall family but he doesn't appear in the series unfortunately 😕 he is in the futurama comic book "Who is dying to be a Gazillionaire" his name was Free Waterfall the 3rd an yes he also ends up dying 😂 ya the Waterfalls are all literally a doomed family of political stereotypes. An they always get killed off in whatever storyline they are apart of and are generally killed by that which they were fighting to protect or by something involving what they are fighting for.
I lost power while watching this and typing up a comment earlier but now I'm back baby. heehehehehe (Bender laugh). Another good Futurama movie and another good way to send off the series into the unknown once again.
If I remember correctly, "P*ssy Riot" was big in the news when this movie was written, so the Eco-Feministas were their version of putting current time events into the episode. They were not that funny, at first, but the worse the puns got, the more it cracked me up. Should probably had have less time though, but I guess just Leela on her own vs. Fry, Leo and Zapp would have been a bit too crazy. She's good, but she's not like some super hero/villain.

The show is fascist apologia. And told a black coded character that fighting her oppressor would make her the same as them. And in the end they befriend the genocidal tyrants. And there is even slave who falls in love with her master which is gross.
@@Itsant33 I'm sad that's what you took from it, but I can respect and understand that take. I believe that the show is about dealing with difficult emotions, learning to love and forgive yourself for things outside your control, and appreciating that we are all inherently worthy of love and respect, that people can be cruel, manipulative, and selfish, but they can also change.
I honestly find the eco-fems half hilarious and half obnoxious, which I think was the point when they wrote it. Somewhat dated eco-politics aside, this is a great time capsule and a great Futurama movie

I love that the crowd at the end contained every character in the show to this point, all the side characters, etc.

Frida Waterfall first appearance is when Zoidberg eats the flag

Here are my rankings for the Futurama movies.
1. Into the Wild Green Yonder
2. Bender's Big Score
3. Bender's Game
4. The Beast with a Billion Backs
Beast with a billion backs was way better than Bender's game.
the opening Mars Vegas song was actually performed by Seth MacFarlane of "Family Guy" fame.
To answer your question at 8:12; Spiro Agnew was the Vice President of the United States when Nixon was President.
You probably like this movie and the first ones the most because Ken Keeler wrote them. He also wrote every “finale” of the show.
That explains a lot
They better get him back for the revival.
@@traviswhitfield8045 that would be great

This movie isn't as epic than the first one but is by far the funniest, the amount of jokes and gags is incredible.
