With the best will in the world this is not a great song. Robert Stigwood: “Barry. I’ve got the studio booked for tonight. Write me The Marbles next single. If you haven’t got time just rehash OOW. I just need it to showcase Graham’s voice again”
Just so damn underated, this man wipes the floor with Axel knocks ,Plant into a cocked hat makes Freddis seem ordinary, anyone else just ain't worth it, this really is THE GREATEST VOICE IN ROCK HISTORY EVER.
Trevor Gordon is the other singer. He was friends with The Bee Gees back in Australia and recorded many of their songs. Bonnet got this song solely because of Trevor Gordon as he did with Only One Woman.
This is a particularly soulful song. Leave it to the Gibbs - was listening to "To Love Somebody" and felt the same. I'm sixty now. I was a ten year old girl when these babies were getting famous. Long and winding road, indeed. Pax et lux.🙋☮️🎆
Puissante voix ! J'adore cette chanson ! les Marbles sont passés dans un club mythique de mon coin, le Ram dam ( à l'époque ) à Dourges ( France ) en 1968 ! C' est loin tout ça... Entre temps des murs sont tombés...
When morning time breaks My lonely heart aches, yeah But no one I touch Can tell me how much A lonely heart takes Cause the walls fell down And the seas will drown But nobody listens to my song And the storm just broke And the rain came down But nobody listens to a clown I look for your light By day and by night I'm wasting my time Just trying to find Your face in my life
Graham Bonnet later joined Richie Blackmore's Rainbow and sang on a number of hits. The story goes that he and Blackmore fell out because Graham would not grow his hair long like the other band members.
The guy playing guitar is Trevor Gordon he went back to teaching Graham went on to rainbow Alcatraz and his new band he's still touring we went to school together he is my son's godfather
@@melanie851 the regards for David Pring. I asked him if he knew you and he said he didn't but that he sends you his regards to you....... regardless. :-)
I love Graham bonnets voice.Although I don't get why he made such a big deal about not wanting long hair in groups like Alkatrazz, when he had it in the Marbles.
I love that story about how the Rainbow crew actually tried to keep him from having a haircut just when it had started to grow a bit, when he sneaked out and cut it anyway right before a gig. Watching Graham and his newly cropped head from behind apparently enraged Ritchie to the point of almost wanting to smack him with the guitar.
Well good grief. It's not like he's Samson. He's still singing great. Hey. A lot of his contemporaries aren't even around anymore. Missing hair seems like missing a big point.🤗
bee gees should have used this guy on their songs that require you to belt out the notes like 'Lion in Winter ' I never really cared for how robin did that.
I agree, it seemed that Robin was hurting his voice the way he was using it on that song. But I think Barry could have done it. He has belted out plenty of songs. And who knows, maybe Maurice could have done it, and just never was given the chance.
one of the greatest voices in rock history
The Voice he is Super .
Most definitely
Only realised recently just how many great songs have been written by The Bee Gees
Pretty sure they were distance cousins .
And Bob Dylan
