Fix-It Helix can the battery casing be removed by using a mini heat gun and heating up the glue side and pulling apart or does using the pin neccessary to remove the casing.
*FIXING SOLUTION!!* My earphones started flashing red/white. Apple only suggested Beats Updater and a reset that didn't work and then offered a new pair at a cost. Very common problem. 1. Start by pinching the rubber base next to the charging port. 2. Stroke it all the way to the other side until you reach the power button (repeat a few times) 3. Plug and unplug the charging cable 10 times Repeat a few times and it should turn on. It worked for me!
Update for y'all After I posted the original comment. My beats continued to acting up every few days then eventually many times a day. Now they're dead 100%. Bought Airpods.
Fixed mine thanks to the general idea shown on this video, thank you. They had been sitting unused on a drawer for over a year and when I tried to turn then on, they wouldn't. Initially assumed that the power button was broken because the Beats Updater app was reporting the battery being fully charged, but after opening them and checking the voltage (~0.5v) it was clear that it wasn't. I didn't need to mess with the black wire, simply used a battery box with 3 AA batteries connected in series (4.5v) and wired that to each of the tiny rechargeable batteries of the beats, just for 10 mins each. That was enough to get the BeatsX to charge again when plugged-in via USB (the LED must turn red if it's charging, previously it'd only remain white instead). After charging for a bit they turn on again!
i didn't have a li-ion charger laying around so i just soldered a micro usb port to it and charged it for like 10 seconds, thanks for the idea, i was a little nervous as the battery is 3.3 volts, but it got them working!
Great video! I followed the instructions and managed to fix my brand new BeatsX which were sleeping on the raft for 2 years, because of this problem :D
My battery stopped working from cold weather. I saw a comment that said to plug it in and unplug it multiple times. Thought that it was a troll but it actually worked! Try it before cracking open your device.
Hey Buddy i have a question, so its not necessary to replace the battery' only need to open and check if something is unsoldered, i really appreciate your comments
the power button on my beats x doesn't work. How would you fix that? I press it in and the headphones won't turn on. The light goes on when they are being charged. :)
Hello! I just completely replaced a battery on my BeatsX, but still getting blinking red and white light. Do you have any suggestions on this? Thank you in advance!
So this is my second pair of beats and the right earbud stopped working . how do I know if the problem is the speaker or that the speaker is not getting power from the battery ?
You mentioned possibly replacing the batteries... did you ever attempt this? Also, did you ever take the other side apart? I'm wondering what the charge side looks like, does it have another board or batteries? I'm thinking this would make a good donor board for some non bluetooth headphones.
Hi. Thank you for doing this video. It helped me fix mine. There are various issues with these headphones. The symptoms are that they wont power on when the power button is pressed. When a charger is connected the power button led flashed white and red for 3x. Then stays a solid white. The issue is with the battery, on top is a small logic board that regulates charging. So the battery "thinks" it is fully charged but actually is not. If you use the beats updater it even shows up as being 100% charged. With this repair it cuts off that charging circuitry and charges the battery directly. Or at least for me give it a boost or reset. For me I used a small micro usb charging board I got on ebay. It charged for maybe 5-10 minutes. I checked to see if there was a voltage (0 before) and there was a voltage. I re-assembled everything. Tried to turn on but nothing, no light on led. So I connected the charger and the led turned red and stayed red. For about 10 minutes and then turned white. I pressed power button and it turned on!!
so you replace old lightning charging board with a new micro usb board? And it fits into beats case? can you repeat your steps in details, because i have the same problem.
After trawling comments This solution worked for me - much less hassle. Unplug and plug in charging cable 6 times quickly and all lights should go off, then plug in and lights turn on red to indicate charging. Then after a while I was able to successfully turn on as normal and could see they had 8%.
Thank you for solution. In Turkey, Apple brand and technical services can not solve the problem. I haven’t got the lion charger and i did it with 9V Duracell battery. 👍
I'm a little confused but correct me if i'm wrong, After taking the label of the battery you know that black cable in the middle that you disconnect after do you charge the beats for a while and then do u connect the black cable to its original position. Also, should that fix the problem.
***Request: My Beats X still work great except the buds are starting to come apart. The little mesh guards both came out of the buds a while back, if you have a fix for that, I’d love to know. Also, the buds themselves are separating at the seams. Do you just superglue those closed? Can superglue damage inside the earbuds if it gets in? A video would be great. Thanks.
Great it worked! Looks like is the same problem with car batteries and smart chargers, if battery is completely flat it will not charge it but if you connect one battery parallel to get some volts to start charging then it will work! thanks
My left side of the beatsx not working after attaching it to a metal object from the magnet side... Any ideas? Sometimes i hear only crackling sound... Sometimes silent
Thanks a lot for this. Now I have beats x but I did not used it for long time. When I charge it the lamp flash red then white but when I unplug it the lamp turn it off. Any help
@@comfycorner7509 Thats possible if you find a battery with the same voltage and it also has the same size. So you could build in a battery with more mAh.
Fixed mine like this.. You guys talking about not having the tools should invest in some and learn something. It'll save you a a ton of money in the future.
jaxx2202 ,no doubt. It’s saved me hundreds of dollars owning a soldering iron, voltmeter and a few others. I’ve fixed my TV, my dashboard and quite a few other things. My Beats X are next. Soldering electronics in my line of work.
It might not be the actual connection. Take a toothpick and try and lift up the felt piece on the earbud tip and try to reposition it. Mine used to be really quiet until I did this.
So the problem cause this is because over discharged. You have to charge the battery to certain level then it can be charged, better to replace a new battery, from my point of view, an electrical engineer for electric car.
Even those I have the tools I don't think it is worth it. I am tempted to buy new ones, and swap out the broken one for the new one and return it back to the store.
I have a lithium battery charger but couldn't find it. Instead, I found an old apple iphone/ipod charging cable and cut the end off that connected with the device. You'll only be using the red and black wires. Solder the red wire to the top middle of the batteries, then slip the black wire under the bottom, and hold it with scotch tape. Then plug the USB end into a charger and you'll have the same result after about 10 minutes of charging. I was reading .5 volts instead of the .00 I started with, and that's when I was able to charge them properly. They wont turn on all the way, but will blink red, indicating low battery. I removed the red and black charger wires, reattached the black wire, and it then started charging properly. This is a huge defect that Apple should recognize; instead they try ripping us off that are out of warranty. They battery isn't bad, it's a charging circuitry defect. Apple wanted 91 dollars from me for the total "repair", which is basically me buying a new pair of headphones from them. Pathetic. Fix-it-Helix, THANK YOU for making this video!
I took the battery of the BeatsX away, recharged them with an Li-Ion Charger, and then i have put the Battery again on the BeatsX. On this Way the Battery works again
Thank you! I fixed my BeatsX this way, but my earbuds don't look as good as yours. The glue was very hard so I damaged the case while removing it and also the white LED is not shining anymore. So be careful when following the instructions in this video.
Fix-it-Helix - I just have one question I can’t really find an answer to yet, are all BeatsX earphones prone to this problem, thus anybody who owns a pair it is just a countdown as to how long until it happens because it is inevitable? Or is it isolated to just a handful of bad sets sold? (I.E. some of the first sets that Apple rolled out and sold, of which some could have sat on retail shelves for many months if not a year from manufacture until unboxed, turned on and used)? I just bought a pair a week ago and had no idea that this issue existed, until reading all this online. Anybody out there own/owned a pair of BeatsX that lived a long and fruitful life without having any real issues? It would be good to hear somebody valid for that BeatsX so that I don’t stress about it now. ;-) Thanks, John

Unfortunately i live in Germany, and so its really difficult to fix Product from foreign countries. But i will make soon a new video in which i show, how to replace the battery, if that helps you.
Didn't work for me - probably my battery was way too dead if that makes sense. It did take the charge, but simply could not hold it - would release about a volt per minute :(
I do not understand what is being fixed. Is the issue a problem or a connection needing to be resoldered or is the issue that the Beats X battery needs to be recharged via a lithium battery charger? If I perform this procedure, what will keep my battery charging problem from happening again?
The Beats X Battery needs to be manually charged via a lithium battery charger. I repaired so far 3 headphones and all of them are still working fine since i repaired them.
That's the thing... I wouldn't call this a "repair". You technically didn't fix anything. Unless it was the negative lead to the battery that needs to be re-soldered.
Fix-It Helix- 1) Thank-you for taking the time to create this repair video. 2) So if I go ahead and follow the procedure of this video and recharge the battery with a lithium battery charger, what is going to keep this problem from happening again? I still don’t understand why this procedure is needed to begin with. Did this problem happen because I allowed the battery to become completely discharged? Or is this a sign the battery is becoming old/weak? 3) If this is the case, wouldn’t it just be better that I replace the battery? -Dennis McCrea
I believe the issue is that the beats x charging circuit won't charge the battery if it hits '0', a lot of chargers do this too. So basically by putting the zero battery in a different charger that doesn't care about a battery being at zero, he recharged the battery to a level that the headset recharging circuitry is ok with recharging. So after this 'fix' as long as the battery doesn't go to zero you should not have this problem again.
hey man cooles Video! LG Flo
Problem is that you cannot let the battery drain completely after that, or else the problem will happen again... And worse than before... did anyone find new batteries to replace these?
If anyone has got any question, feel free to aks. I will try to help as much as i can.
I have a question where is the store you are so I can pay you to fix my beats x plz tell me the address so I can go

I think the problem with these headphones is actually the batteries drain so low the charging circuit fails to attempt to charge it.
What’s in the other case?
When I try and turn them on it flashes off and on what do I do
Didn't work for me - probably my battery was way too dead if that makes sense. It did take the charge, but simply could not hold it - would release about a volt per minute :(
can you fix B&O H5?
Bruh I’m just trying to listen to music while I’m asleep why u gotta make is so hard 😭
Fix-It Helix-
1) Thank-you for taking the time to create this repair video.

I believe the issue is that the beats x charging circuit won't charge the battery if it hits '0', a lot of chargers do this too. So basically by putting the zero battery in a different charger that doesn't care about a battery being at zero, he recharged the battery to a level that the headset recharging circuitry is ok with recharging. So after this 'fix' as long as the battery doesn't go to zero you should not have this problem again.
a nice flux would be something to add to your arsenal
How to fix if the other earphone is not working?
Soldering iron is 10-15$ amazon...
hey man cooles Video!
LG Helix
My beatsx blinking whute light...but do unable to detect
hold the power button and one of the volume buttons down together for 10 seconds to reset them. then try pairing them with your phone.
Problem is that you cannot let the battery drain completely after that, or else the problem will happen again... And worse than before... did anyone find new batteries to replace these?
Nice, thanks for the Help it works again YEEEAHH.
Glad, that i could help you
Was it easy to replace?
Easier than i thought it would be. If you have the materials, you should try it, my Beats X are working great again.
Very helpful
