Frank Herbert Reads His God Emperor of Dune (Excerpts)

  • Опубліковано 22 лют 2021
  • 1982. More details here: www.discogs.co...
This was ripped from the cassette version. The time stamps on the back of album as can be seen in the link above are not accurate.
Some of Herbert's other readings have been made available on Audible and can be found here on UA-cam, but not this one or his reading of excerpts from HERETICS.

For me, the best thing about this recording is we get to hear the intended pronunciations. We've been saying these names incorrectly.

The first time he reads a book, he chooses God-Emperor. That's telling.

I used to have an audio cassette of him reading excerpts from Dune. I don't remember when it was recorded though, but it was amazing hearing him pronounce names and places.

To be fair God-Emperor at many points kind of just reads like you took a lot of shrooms and feel yourself becoming one with the fabric of the universe. I'm almost sure Frank Herbert wrote this under some influence of psychedelics or ego death -- the parallels line up just a bit too well.

So far, Dune made $40m from US market and $180m from global market. In the US while the civilization is in collapse and hyperinflation, they have focused their conversations towards transgender issues and gaslighting their brethren into vaccines. Soon they will have no choice to face the consequences of Nihilism and living without a purpose for God. Dune series is a wake up call.

Read Dune when Jessica takes the water of life. She becomes a mote swimming in the consciousness of her genetic memory mingled with that of the reverend mother while cradling the mote of Alia's consciousness. For Leto who can experience ALL of his ancestors and all of the reverend mothers they have communed, to experience ALL human history and himself within the flow of time for tens of thousands of years
