honestly I think zerker is one of the best balanced characters in the game rn, I use him occationally and I always enjoy fighting both with and against him. He feels unique and powerful, but not oppressive. He demands respect without abusing funi buttons.
We didn't rly need it bc zerk is such a aggressive character he doesn't even need to block even against sub 500 reps they still couldn't handle my zerk pressure with no gaurd

My biggest problem is that for as strong as he is, he still feels like he’s MISSING something. His kit feels empty, considering it’s just “heavy feint light sometimes feint to heavy”
When playing zerk i like to start out using heavy feint into lights and then change to heavy feint into heavy. IMO catches a lot of people off guard especially if they like to light interrupt.

True zerker mains remember the backward zone was a heavy attack back in the day and dealt 10 damage. So if you had your back to a wall, and the enemy was in critical health, you could absolute SHOCK people with suddenly making them be in execution mode since the move was near instant in start up.(Also I would happily surrender the dodge cancel if you give me back my 10 damage GB displacer. It was so fun killing people by gut punching them forward in a GB) Good times. Dearly missed. Wow! Wow! Wow!
nerf? frankly no Zerk indentity as the character without any unblockable bash/grab makes him unique but at the same time, at a massive disadvantage the way to to balance this is to have Zerk being better at the other gameplay mechanics, which thankfully they finally do(sort of) that being said, i agree with the removal of dodge cancel recovery on dodge attack(only on miss imo), but i think that falls more for universal adjustment because that thing is stupid, janky and as you said, not very skillful to perform but annoying as hell
One thing for sure is that his heavy light combo on minions should be improved. The light has like no forward momentum. And the heavy could be a little bigger. But just the light forward momentum would be nice. His zone is a little awkward sometimes in certain scenarios so a better minion clear would be nice

Do THAT many people really have issues reacting to Berserker chain lights? Since XSX and PS5 have gotten 120 FPS with performance mode (And Series S players having around 90-110FPS) I kinda assumed more people would be able to react to stuff like that better. I mean sure not everyone has a 120Hz display to even utilize performance mode but the number can’t be THAT low, right?
I have series x but no monitor just a regular TV trying to parry light is almost impossible I pretty much gotta guess where they throw it parry flash is to fast
@@jameslawn6159 That’s because not only does your TV likely not display more than 60FPS, TV’s also have more input delay on top of that, and when you’re online there’s even more delay depending on latency I tried playing on my TV last week and I just couldn’t, I’m also on Series X and going back to 60FPS and over 1ms input delay felt impossible to do anything, just kept eating lights (VS getting accused of scripting by other Xbox players when playing on my monitor) The difference is night an day

I haven’t played this game in a while, but I left because the game just kept going downhill. The players always had a skewed belief on balance and Ubisoft consistently added boring reworks to characters that didn’t need them. Players are so fixed on this power creep idea and how to fix it which is good! But they are only making it worse. The solution to power creep is not buffing weaker characters, that much is obvious. There is very few characters in this game that are weak, but many of them are broken. We shouldn’t buff the balanced characters to keep up with the standard of boring S-tiers, but instead be nerfing characters that set an unrealistic standard for the rest of the roster. If a character was strong because of a boring neutral 500ms bash we shouldn’t give everyone else a 500ms bash, we should rework the bash in the first place. You can’t fix a problem by causing more problems. I always see UA-cam recommendations about “Buff XY!” and “This character needs buffs!” When in reality these people are simply asking for the same unoriginal, unrealistic, and boring reworks instead of bringing the bar back down to a normal level. That’s my rant, of course I haven’t played the game in a year so this may be a bit outdated, but I really do get tired of Players telling Ubisoft to do something, then complaining when they do it. Backwards zone is good in duels/duel scenarios when you have done example top heavy finisher and don’t want to eat a GB, nor don’t want to be light parried by doing any form of dodge cancel recovery attack. You can obviosly cancel your recovery with a normal zone. But if the enemy blocks the first attack they can just parry any other part of the zone. The benefit with doing the backwards zone (in this specific scenario) is that if they doesn’t parry the first part, the rest of the attacks will wiff and be unparriable. However, a personal change i would want to have on zerk. Remove hyper armor and give him better tracking on the heavies (ment for teamfights) Since he can dodge cancel every attack, he basically doesn’t need hyper armor. Keep in mind though Im only talking in 4v4 perspective now. I do think however he would still be fine in duels with the change i suggested

Am I the only person who wishes reflex guard was still a thing? Assassins were already very good characters. It feels like that was the balance they needed. Assassins were probably already the most played and now they are even more so.

I can't believe my friend main Zerk before me, yet he doesn't like deflecting as Zerk. He deflects as other Assassins and the Shaolin, but with the Zerk. It's just a BIG NO! I play the Zerk more than him at this point. Almost 70 (I just want to get there).
Honestly the thing that really confuses me is the fact zerk gets an hp buff while raider got a hp nerf way back. But their general gameplay is about the same except zerk is just way better
Debatable. Zerk's defense is better but reactable at a high level. Raider has genuine unreactable offense to everyone but like four players. I would say Zerk is definitely a safer pick, but Raider is better offensively. Better in team fights for the wide unblockables as well. If zerk's side finisher heavies had better hitboxes, maybe that would change.

Ubi hasnt really done anything with Berserker *specifically* , he's just benefited a lot over the years from various blanket changes ever since his rework way back. I think changes *around* his design need to be made, not changes to his design specifically.
For as strong as he is, his kit is pretty basic. I guess as a berserker main myself my opinions biased but I think he’s one of the most balanced characters and perfect as is.
Best way to nerf Berserker is to lower his health and take away headhunter, the whole fantasy of playing them in the first place is that the Berserker is either too angry or too inebriated to feel pain so they can power through most attacks. There should be actual consequences to trading, and that consequence is that the Berserker cannot feel pain, but that doesn’t mean the body can actually take it. So, lower their health to 120 and take away the headhunter perk. Keeps the fantasy but punishes being too reckless. As someone who mains Berserker (among others), I would be fine with this change.

What they need to do is remove hyper armor on all lights, and make his zone do 2dps a hit. The follow up light free 99% of the times. Remove those 2 and he should be balanced. Make him have 125hp and not 130 for gods sake.
I couldn’t use anybody with reflex guard, but since they removed zerk is a monster. But he’s a trade based character imo, meaning he has to take damage to give it, but he struggles against bash characters. Giving him dodge recoveries was probably a mistake though.

I play brawls and all I see is Oro, Bers, and Shaolin. Can’t go one match without seeing them. Also I get the staring contest as I play Nuxia.

For as strong as he is, his kit is pretty basic. I guess as a berserker main myself my opinions biased but I think he’s one of the most balanced characters and perfect as is.
I agree except the dodge cancels on his dodge attack. Other than that he needs no big nerfs.

Best way to nerf Berserker is to lower his health and take away headhunter, the whole fantasy of playing them in the first place is that the Berserker is either too angry or too inebriated to feel pain so they can power through most attacks. There should be actual consequences to trading, and that consequence is that the Berserker cannot feel pain, but that doesn’t mean the body can actually take it. So, lower their health to 120 and take away the headhunter perk. Keeps the fantasy but punishes being too reckless. As someone who mains Berserker (among others), I would be fine with this change.

What they need to do is remove hyper armor on all lights, and make his zone do 2dps a hit. The follow up light free 99% of the times. Remove those 2 and he should be balanced. Make him have 125hp and not 130 for gods sake.

I couldn’t use anybody with reflex guard, but since they removed zerk is a monster. But he’s a trade based character imo, meaning he has to take damage to give it, but he struggles against bash characters. Giving him dodge recoveries was probably a mistake though.
Yeah dodge recoveries are amazing ever since i started playing characters like Berzerker and Zhanhu it feels so weird going back to other characters.
He has no opener, which many others with dodgecancels have and as u said, hes weak gainst bashes so id say

He’s not as good as tiandi, but he feels almost just as safe which is a bit unbalanced because he can melt you hp. I think he’s in a great spot, I’d rather characters be strong than weak

Zhanhu just spins around u and u can try to roll awy cause catching this shit is no option.
Jj has his feintable dodgeattack and cathes half the map with his unblockables.
