Fred Armisen: From Punk to Parody
Вставка
- Опубліковано 3 чер 2019
- In the early days of touring in a van with his punk rock band Trenchmouth, Fred Armisen was already doing impressions to make his bandmates laugh on the road between venues. At a certain point Fred realized that he was getting a lot of positive feedback from humor.

Armisen really nailed it with that German journalist impression
fiinde ich auch, sehr gut gemacht und beobachtet
That fugazi bit spilled out so easily--"Fugazi played here two days ago & it was very crowded. Now it's not crowded"--that you know it's based on a festering wound from something that actually happened, lol. Fred is so good at baking realilty into comedy perfection.
I saw Fred's band play with Fugazi.
Trenchmouth played my (Canadian) hometown in maybe '89 or '90 or so. Their set was rock effin' solid and you could tell they'd been touring those songs for weeks. Great gig.
Oh boy hands down Fred's sit down with you among my absolute favorite of your series!
I just have so much respect for this dude; every interview I see, the details in the various sketches. Just....an amazing artist.
The schmutz on Fred’s windbreaker has been driving me bonkers over the past few videos.
Fred is the kind of guy you really wanna be friends with, but at the same time you wonder whether your just to boring to bother him.
LMAOO YESS!! this was so accurate
3:05 crying laughing
What a talented man
I can picture him replying to the journalist: “So you are the guy they send to interview the bands with bad recordings and whose crowds are shrinking. What do you attribute that to?”
Hard to believe he wore that jacket. Harder to believe they let him keep in on.
For the longest time I had no idea this was on Netflix
Louie these are on Netflix!

Oh man looks like not available in my area though. :( I have Netflix but this show I cannot access
I seriously thought this was George santos

Super Weird.... I'm French and I've been at least a dozen times to different parts of Germany (from East to West, sometimes I would stay two weeks, and not at hotels but at people's apartment or houses). And Germans are just so cool, tolerant, nice and openminded to me (way more than Americans in my opinion, even though I've only been there for 4 weeks). So ... Does it means we French people are the badies ? OR.... Fred is still hurt that he didn't have the success he would have like to have ? (because even if I'm sure he's a nice guy, you can tell he's very ambitious).
This would of been much better in color
Boo. Research Armisen.
what do you mean
The more I’ve learned about Mr. Armisen as a person, the less I care for him. While I generally take things with a grain of salt and file them away, when the majority of sources support one another with comparable perspectives, a story begins to take shape. In this instance, it happens to be an unpleasant one.
That said, I feel that others should do their own research and draw their own conclusions.
I sometimes find it difficult to separate a person from their work. When you like something and discover that the creator(s) behave in negative ways, it muddies the water.
