I like how you just repeatedly refer to the berserking melee scout as “the psychopath”, it takes such a threatening term and reduces it to describing just some dude who runs in and gets killed every time. Normally “the psychopath is chasing me” would be horrifying to hear but now it’s just like “oh bother, it’s him again”.
The thing about guys like him is they're so unpredictable that they're actually scary. Normally you'd expect a scout to stay at medium range and use their gun, but what if a scout just comes out of nowhere wildly swinging their melee? You'd be surprised just how quickly logic and planning can crumble in the face of an enemy who's on a suicide mission
That's why kamikaze attacks were so effective when they were first used because the Americans literally could not predict or comprehend pilots deliberately crashing into ships in order to sink them. They couldn't wrap their head around soldiers deliberately going on a suicide mission to protect their country. Of course as the war went on they became less effective but in the first year they were used they were effective
Melee scout is more effective than you'd think because scout is so fast that when you're up in someone's face it's hard for them to hit you. Being right up in your face puts them in control (unless you're a soldier or a pyro or heavy)
I wish there was more gameplay commentary videos like these, especially from competitive players. Hearing their thought process really helps to up my game.
I've always been a big fan of TF2 series that are just gameplay footage backed up by play-by-play commentary as a means of providing information on how to play the game. Stuff like "Engie Brain" and "How a Spy Thinks" are what I'm referring to.

The part where high ground to take advantages are quite difficult for me right now. The though of jumping or being on awkward angles while shooting for me ends up just ends up in me missing XD quite a good piece of advice though since I forget to utilize high ground
pls more of those. i find the showcase of the decisionmaking progress verry verry verry usefull and much more entertaing. you must know that your viewers are a bunch of tryhards :-)

Boston Basher's jumps give more distance _and_ more height IF you have full health, heals or healthpacks around (i.e. do not die from self-damage) :^) Also good for uber-building in competitive. There's a clip in one of b4nny's videos here on UA-cam, where, during Halloween, on Precipice 1st BLU spawn @b4nny said: "Can I get *up there*?" and then, after some advanced jumping with the Boston Basher, he got on the high ground far away from the spawn and said: "I did it, I crafted a route 😏" If someone here on YT saw that clip recently - feel free to drop a link to the video (with a timestamp) here, cheers! 🤗😇
