Hold down both of the side buttons hard and turn on the radio. It will go into to update mode. Baofeng K6. However, their is no custom firmware or official firmware out yet that I’ve seen. Hope to see them for this radio!
@@bogoff99 I actually rate the Baofeng as the better radio despite it's inability to upgrade the firmware. Speaker on the quansheng is very tiny and "tinny" even with firmware mods.
@ghost-jesus hi have a uv17 pro and also a uv-17pro gps. I did order a quansheng uv-k5 (99) which is seemingly a uv-k6 with moded firmware and with colour panels..🤷🏼♂️🙈 hope I picked well. there are far too many variations and when you think you have selected a certain model then you see a different variation.🤦♂️
@@bogoff99 ...indeed the model selection is baffling. I like the UV-17 Pro GPS the best, not really for the GPS, but the fact it has "Zones" for grouping your channels into groups of 100 frequencies which I think is a really cool feature instead of having one big long list of 999 frequencies. Thanks for your comments!

Thorough review. Have a great day sir. 👍
@@BrayJaythe2nd Thank you. ❤️
in general do you rate the Quansheng to be better than baofeng.

thanks for the reply..
I recommend getting both, the baofeng is a better HT, but the Quansheng can do CAT interface things with the QuanshengDock firmware
