I love Royal Raceway on the higher CC's. Then again I disagree with a lot of the map placements because I play mainly on 150cc/200cc (200 with friends, 150 online)

Ok yoshis Island that low is a crime. Have you played the original yoshis island? This track perfectly captures that asthetic. Yoshi isnt even one of my favourite characters yet this is my favourite dlc track in the game, thats how good this track is.

We not gonna mention the fact that the animal crossing map has 4 different versions that alternate randomly? It might not be enough to push it above C Tier, but it’s still a cool thing that Macro should’ve mentioned 🤷♂️
hey im usually never the guy to do this, but seriously it sounds like you havnt played enough mariokart. A ton of the F tier tracks you picked are the legitamately the most fun in the game because of all the shortcuts you can take (and a lot of people in the community support that). Thats mostly because theyre really good for bagging, and bagging is really fun; most people have less fun on a track where there is no opportunity for comebacks and the only way you can win is through racing lines. I feel like you may have ranked these more on visual design than on gameplay at all levels, and I think that leaves a lot of the nuance out of the discussion.

While I agree with what you posted, the game sold 60+ million copies, and the part of the community that cares about stuff like bagging is probably around 2-3% of the overall amount of copies the game sold.
With that said, the vast majority of players have fun just driving and going through the normal nonsense that is the mario kart experience, so these rankings while unpopular are honestly fine.

I see what you’re saying, but all of the tracks that made Wii the best are in MK8 anyway (except toad factory), and MK8 brings in plenty of other top tier tracks from other games on top of that, so it’s just straight up objectively better.
Edit: I forgot to mention the larger character roster (now including everyone from Wii too), the better customization options, and the fact that there’s more competitive options for karts, unlike Wii where it’s just funky kong on a bike every time.

To get to the upper level in shy guy falls after the water falls hold up on your joy stick to make you glide longer. Also, that track has banger music

HOT TAKE: after spending over 200hrs with base/all DLC i can say i prefer the DLC if i had to pick one or the other, its cuz my fav base tracks are segments cuz its 3x as much to learn and even the worst city tracks atleast require more skill as u have to memorize the diff layouts making the replaybaility 3x better and now i find 3 identical laps on base tracks boring unless its a top 20 track - i really hope next game they make like 50 base track (and do another DLC eventually) but make the 'gimmick' every track is either segment or unique laps (they could even add a mode where each lap as u cross the line it morphs into a random courses 2nd lap and same for th 3rd lap, that'd be WILD)

Recently did my own ranking for all these tracks, and immediately seeing Mario Circuit 3 at the bottom meant this was gonna be an interesting ranking to see.
