      In the 1970s, Nance met David Lynch, who hired him for the lead role in his first independent feature Eraserhead. He remained on good terms with Lynch, who continued to hire him for small parts in almost all of his projects:
      Dune: small part as Captain Nefud of the Harkonnen
      Blue Velvet: Secondary part in the role of Paul, one of the friends of the character played by Dennis Hopper
      The Cowboy and the Frenchman: In the role of Pete, one of the cowboys
      Twin Peaks: in the role of Pete Martell
      Wild at Heart: Small Part as the Wacky '00 Spool '
      Lost Highway: small part as a garage mechanic (one of the latest interpretations of him)

      I am very sorry that she committed suicide. Her style was characterized by a particularly ethereal and persuasive voice and therefore it lent itself well to the murky and sensual atmospheres of Lynchian cinema. We hate time for its inexorable flow, without ifs and buts, it doesn't look at anyone and goes straight on its way, devouring everything!
      Still, we should reevaluate it.
      It's perhaps the only one above the parties!
      It doesn't cheer for anyone… and sooner or later it will show us the truth!

      Unfortunately we are not spiritual entities living in a carnal body. We are material creatures, so no part of us survives death. We are prisoners of death. And there is nothing we can do, we have no way out. But God has the power to free us from death. We are sure he will do it because he has promised that "the last enemy to be reduced to nothing will be death" (1 Corinthians 15:26). Imagine the relief we will feel when we are no longer afraid of dying! God will not only eliminate death but will also bring back to life those who are already dead. In fact, he promises that the "dead will live" (Isaiah 26:19). In the Bible, this promise is called a resurrection!

    I bought the Album Floating by Julie Cruise which featured all of the music from Twin Peaks 20+ odd years ago. Her voice is haunting and beautiful and the music playing is called Falling if I remember rightly, but her singing with it is so much better. Oddly enough I still listen to it on a regular basis. If you enjoyed the ongoing sound track that played in Twin Peaks I suggest you see if it's still available. You will not be disappointed!

    • @GionatanParisi
      @GionatanParisi  3 роки тому +2

      Twin Peaks soundtracks are absolutely wonderful! Twin Peaks Theme, Laura Palmer's Theme, Audrey's Dance, The Nightingale, Freshly Squeezed, The Bookhouse Boys, Into the Night, Night Life in Twin Peaks, Dance of the Dream Man, Love Theme From Twin Peaks and Falling... the songs create indescribable sensations, light and darkness together, a sense of peace and restlessness, but above all a lot of nostalgia!

I pride myself in taking a punch and I'll gladly take another because I choose to live my life in the company of Gandhi and King. My concerns are global. I reject absolutely revenge, aggression, and retaliation. The foundation of such a method... is love.

      Her name was Laura
      and I saw it shine with the sun
      in the darkness of the woods.
      I saw her smile.
      We were crying and I saw her laugh.
      We were sad and I saw her dance.
      She was Laura, alive in my dreams.
      She was Laura, her voice was life.
      Her smile told us that crying was right.
      The forest was our sadness.
      The dance was her voice.
      It was Laura, who had come to greet me with a kiss.

      Violence, sex and drugs in the early evening: never seen before. As you have never seen a great film director (David Lynch had already filmed The Elephant Man and Blue Velvet) who tried his hand at television, after having bitterly criticized it. Nothing would have been like before. The success of Twin Peaks, in the United States and abroad, showed that the TV audience was ready for "high" products. In this way, without even fully realizing it, Lynch and Frost anticipated and paved the way for the revolution of quality TV series that would take place over a decade later.

      Audrey was great for Sherilyn. He brought out a more mischievous and fun side of her that he had repressed, trying to be an adult. She made it OK to use, from time to time, the power you have as a woman to be manipulative, to be precocious. She pursues what she wants with vehemence and takes it. I think she is really admirable. That's what I like about her.

      There is a sadness in this world, for we are ignorant of many things. Yes, we are ignorant of many beautiful things - things like the truth. So sadness, in our ignorance, is very real. The tears are real. What is this thing called a tear? There are even tiny ducts - tear ducts - to produce these tears should the sadness occur. Then the day when the sadness comes - then we ask: "Will this sadness which makes me cry - will this sadness that makes my heart cry out - will it ever end?" The answer, of course, is yes. One day the sadness will end.

      I love 90's! These were the years of post-romantic generations, of tearful provincial loves. The last years in which street mobsters fulfilled the hobby of controlling and messing up the provincial towns of the very deep South, becoming sexy icons for which more than a few girls threatened to cut their veins. Those were the last years that closed a millennium .. prophecies, superomisms, predestination cravings of that feeling the last .. visions, aliens and meteors threatening the earth fit well with the numerological and calendar vision of those years. They were years of taboo, of malice and suspicion, of telephone booths, of fantasy, eccentric years between excessive and cumbersome dance music and an ultimate romanticism, you know, of that courteous love handed down by grandparents, of the courtship under the balcony, of the consume the asphalt.

The work will focus on a memorial that recounts the meeting between Brando and Bernard Judge, an idealist architect from Los Angeles who proposed to the actor the project of a perfect ecological refuge to be built on the island of Tahiti. The film will therefore be set between 1969 and 1974, a period in which the famous Hollywood star was preparing to act in The Godfather and Last Tango in Paris.
      Bill Fishman will be writing the project. Zane will also appear as a producer.

      The character of Log Lady was born many years earlier than the series, during the filming of Eraserhead, where Coulson served as assistant director for Lynch. He came up with the idea for a show and told her: «When you put on your glasses, I see a trunk in your arms. One day I will make a series and you will play a woman with a trunk ». The show was never made, but Lynch decided to bring the character back to life by including him in the Twin Peaks universe, so much so that she introduced each episode with cryptic monologues, defined by Coulson as "streams of consciousness" and "the soul of the series"

    • @GionatanParisi
      @GionatanParisi  3 роки тому +1

      Josie is one of the most mysterious characters in Twin Peaks. Recall that she is the first to appear in the pilot episode and therefore in the entire series. As in Inland Empire and Mullholland Drive, the first images already hide much of the mystery, so probably much of the mystery of Twin Peaks is in the figure of Josie Packard. At first showing herself helpless and in need of help, Josie is instead determined not to have any problems whatsoever, going so far as to kill in order not to be hindered. Josie is currently trapped in a doorknob. Nothing surprises us more than the Gordon / Lynch code, but this handle thing is really hard to understand. He dies of fear of her and therefore, thanks to her fear, the doors of the Black Lodge open for her, but the weight of her after her death, 29 kilos, is still not justifiable. Yet, from day one of Dale's stay in Twin Peaks, I suspect he is hiding something really important. The image of Josie trapped in the handle closes the episode that could really have been the last of the series. Lynch and Frost had already received the stop from ABC which, given the poor listening results, had decided to stop broadcasting. Only months later came another six episodes and then, after another two months, the last two. So why do Frost and Lynch decide that the last thing in chronological order, therefore the most important, to ask questions about is Josie's passing? Who Is Josie Packard Really? "Judy's sister." You respond without batting an eye, Engels in an interview with WIP. Questions about what happened to Josie had already been partially answered during a press conference in which Frank Silva (Bob) had ensured the presence of Josie, dressed as in the moment of her death, in some scenes of the Red Room. Only Josie's body would be seen, trapped with his head left outside her curtains. The images were in fact shot, but Lynch decided at the last moment to cut that sequence. Today the shots from the set are available, of those same scenes, in which Josie's "doppelganger" appears trapped in the red room (remember that Joan Chen had left the series to accept other works).
