I'm trying to remember who it was, but someone you wouldn't expect warms up for every show by singing this song. Some goth metal guy, and it's driving me nuts trying to remember it. Anyone know who I am trying to think of?
This cover . . . is soooooo amazing. If we lived in a different time, this would be pushed to the top of the charts. The depth of beauty in this cover is unreal. I have listened to it at least 100 times over the past week and it just slays me every time. I read that Jerry reached out to Elton to get his permission to include it on Brighten, and Bernie (Elton's partner) called him and said Elton was sobbing at the kitchen table, he was so moved. I was moved to tears, also, and it continues to slay me.
