You know around camp, Charles is pretty quiet with everyone at camp, but talks to John quite a bit.
Charles and John have a "no nonsense" attitude about them both, now that I think about it. It makes sense that Charles would get along with John and Arthur more than the rest of the gang.

@FBI Alypstick Nah Sadie actually has very few camp interactions and none of them are with Charles, he mainly just hanged out with John or by himself at camp, most times when people talked to him he was pretty dismissive.

As much crap as everyone in game and IRL gives Uncle, at least he tries his hardest to be emotionally and mentally supportive. Giving John the drive to build a house, giving them coffee and "emotional supervision" during the house building, then celebrating after the barn... It shows he cares.
I really cannot agree more uncle is it a true OG he helps with everything he even stays by John and his family when they get attacked by the army he dies right there on the ranch porch he doesn't run away or anything he stands and fights just for that he is an amazing character

Well, the whole gang seemed to be that way... - hence kicking a man dying of TB, and Arthur's whole arc of redemption is just that he beat people he shouldn't and was punished for it.

Whats sad. Is out of all the others in Dutchs' gang, John wanted to stay in America. Dutch wanted to leave, Arthur despised civilization. Hosea wanted to live peacefully. Stay out of trouble. But John really wanted to leave his life behind
Arthur changed as time and circumstances with Dutch changed. John changed with same reasons adding he is one of the few that had a family.
Arthur Morgan hated civilization as much as Arthur Fleck, ‘Joker’ hated society.
Arthur hate Civilization at first. After, he visited the Doctor, he couldn't really care about Civilization. He had other things to worry about like TB, Dutch, the Gang, and what he can do to save John, Abagil, and young Jack's lives.

It speaks so much to Charles that even once he was out and safely away from the gang, he came back to bury Arthur and Ms. Grimshaw even though he had nothing to gain from it, and presumably no one knew about it until he told John. And when you actually find that place in game, its such a nice place he picked for them, and a reference to where Arthur asked to be buried. What a bro

When making a singleplayer game and story? Then yeah sure but when it comes to multiplayer or maintaining a game they are some of the worst.
They make amazing stories and single player games but they abuse online for money. It’s hard because I love the games they make but I hate how greedy they are.

Charles laugh when he sees John again is the best sound I’ve heard in this game. I think that might be the only time he laughs in the entire game! Also I love that he probably knows it’s John just by his voice, such a unique croaky and raspy cowboy lol.
I love uncle. Most of the gang members think he's a parasite, a nuisance, annoying. But I think he's just absolutely hilarious. He's easily in my top 5 of favorite characters.
What I loved is how Charles helped so much in building the house. He honestly didn’t owe John anything. A great soul

Usually, you would think Charles was boring and had no character. But because John was in such a hard spot, to see someone like Charles being a "pillar of strength", burying your dead friends, helping you build your house for your family, helping you fight for your loved ones.

If he hadn't been telling people he was John Marston than Edgar Ross , and Archer Fordham wouldn't have found him so easily.
It took a decade for them to find him.
@@theflyingpig6361 Exactly why putting his name "John Marston" on important documents (ie.: loans and deposits) was not a good idea on John's part. That was easy to track for any detective agent. They took about 10+ years to finally hunt him down so they can play their hand -- one way out method -- on a plan to find the other Van der Linde members; no need to take out Marston. They know where he is, so why not have him whack the others for good intention.
It's diabolical to work 98% in their favor with no backlashes.

It was mainly him killing Micah. Micah was likely going to hand Dutch over to Ross and Fordham and John got there before the exchange could take place.

I grew up with someone sort of like Uncle and Charles. He started out as the general contractor for my Gma’s house and condo, but he had a certain shine to him that kept him around and he became a somewhat grandfather figure to my brother and I. He died about a year ago, but he was the the toughest and most experienced hunter/fisher I’ve ever met.
I was a state wrestler and could bench 325... and he was still able to crush my hands. I miss him. Especially because I’ve never beat him at arm wrestling. Dude left on top

Probably accurate for that time period, but we also gotta remember Uncle and his Lumbago addled mind was the foreman on the house project
Some of the nails would very likely break since they’re holding a structure that one nail simply wouldn’t be able to hold and some of the nails literally aren’t connected to anything and don’t hold anything together. It made me cringe when I saw John literally nailing air.

When it finally got to the house building theme my dopamine lvls sky rocketed
it really hits different hearing the song in the background around 47:50. The voice sounds just like Hosea, Dutch and few other gang members singing together it really makes you emotional. Feeling as if the gang was whole once more when things were better...
Fun fact: uncle singing is actually the old uncle from rdr. And the times when uncle is not singing in Rdr2 is the new uncle lol
