@@AlyArt I also love your channel! Aly, can you please clarify. I was categorized as a SD, but then when I lost weight I got a suggestion that I'm a FG. Is it common? What should I pay attention to? Thank you in advance 🌺
I have never clicked so fast!! I’m a SD and find it so hard to dress in Summer! Clothes seems to fall into two categories: basic, tighter summer pieces end up looking too “sexy”, and wearing light, loose pieces looks “bulky”. This is so helpful, thank you 😍🥰
Oh man I feel the opposite. I can't wait for summer. I have a much harder time dressing in winter with the separates. Summer is easy, maxi dress and look amazing!
Clothing manufacturers wanna be cheap so they either make stretchy clothes or loose, oversized clothes. Either way, they don't have to spend money on tailoring garments.
I’m always so amazed how for SD a kaftan style/kimono style is always recommended because my entire life I’ve always been drawn to those looks. I look my best in my bathrobe because it’s that T shape kimono look! It works SO well on SD! I started buying silk or sheer bathrobes that look like tops and wearing them out as tops, and it looks so nice on SD. The batwing sleeve is the soft dramatic must have! T shape!
Your timing couldn't be better. The summer-wear struggle for a SD body is REAL! After avoiding the clingy, frumpy, childish or stiff options, I typically wind up wearing pants with sandals and a loose top. Thank you for your dress and footwear suggestions. Will be putting my time into building a flattering office-worthy wardrobe this summer!
6:16 this part about how poofy-but-short dresses just articulated a feeling I've experienced in sooo many mall changing rooms but always felt crazy trying to explain to other people
I stay away from thick denim skirts - the skirt just ride up my body and after 15 steps the waist is right under my boobs. Thank you for the video, lots of good advice!
I have a stretchy denim skirt I bought last summer and all it does is ride up... and it cuts me off. I could never put my finger on why the outfits I would pair with it would absolutely not work.
Thank you so much for this! You put observations I had on myself into words perfectly. Does anyone else struggle with finding 100% cotton or breathable clothes? On top of that, I dress modestly. I find it incredibly challenging to find pieces made out of natural fibres, complimenting my body type, being modest and not too pricey. And I would prefer to shop in stores physically, as I could see directly how a piece fits me. The stores, that are available where I live, only carry the current square shaped fashions. It's tough out here. 🥺
I was confused for the longest time because my body has every element of the soft dramatic except for the bust line. I am 5 ft 6 ish but in photos I look super tall. Most people think I am 5 ft 9! My body is curve dominant but I am a 34A cup. This video has given me so much inspiration. Thank you Aly!
@@kathychronicles My bust is not wide-set, but I think that I have been wearing the wrong undergarments my entire life. I would go into Victoria’s Secret as a teenager and the staff would always say that nothing would fit me and then directed me to the ‘PINK’ section (sports bras/crop tops/ bralettes). Ten years later, I went for a fitting for the first time. I found a french company called Simone Pérele (VERY expensive). I only have one item from them but it's worth the investment and I feel more confident. I'm going to try more curve accommodating tops right away :)
The Mediterranean fashion style is actually very suitable for SD’s. I’ve know I’ve found my people when she said puffyness around the knees. That was to specific 💀
So glad you said about having shorter legs proportionally. I'm pretty sure I'm a SD, but I'm on the shorter side 5'5. I've got long arms and a long body but my legs definitely look shorter. But try the recommendations and they always look great on me.
Thank you for this❤ learning I was a soft dramatic has been life changing! A lot of the suggestions for my lines and body type I somehow knew what looked good but it has always been hard to find clothes in modern years to dress myself in! Casual wear is the hardest still for me but I am getting more comfortable in it.
I've been waiting for this. THANK YOU!!! You've made such interesting points: - Like most SDs, wider looks make me look bulky that's why I never want to size up, but there are times, as you explained, when sizing up can actually be a good strategy, damn. With summer tops with ruffles or t-shirts, yes! - High-waists. I had never understood why sometimes high waists didn't work for me and made my breasts and head look disproportionate. That's because that particular high-waist look is too high. Gotta find the right balance! - Show something narrow when you're wearing chunky shoes. Will try!! - Skirts for SDs. Thanks to Kibbe theory I can now find skirts that look good on me. Gotta dress for them curves and not go to the puffy side, hehe! ♥ I'll definitely look at your recommendations!! Super informative video. Thank you, Aly!!!

It has given me confidence to shop in my own closet of what I already have , yet was unsure of how to put together .The more you can make for SD the better .My whole life I have had such a hardship finding clothing and once i discovered why , now it all is validated and makes sense . I no longer feel like a bull in a china shop , but a beautiful diva.I look forward to more of your videos on SD.Thank you for you specificity, all done in such an efficient manner. You are my favorite . I am so grateful to you for helping me . I now have flourished some what , yet have a ways to go in this journey.
That’s so funny you used the description bull in a china shop. I’m SD and have said that same phrase in my head. I feel so big sometimes compared to my little coworkers! I bump into stuff with these wide hips! 😂 We need to embrace our curvy goddess status! Team SD!
Requesting, "Medical scrubs for the body types." 😂💜 Thank you from the bottom of my SD heart, Aly! For helping me feel confident in my body. I'll still be wearing slightly high waisted shorts all summer, but now i know how to balance them!! ✨️
Ooh, we have worn both adar and figs scrubs at work and they are both great brands! I personally found Adar better for SD. Long line tunic top with wrap or v neck style and the straight leg trousers (I'm not a fan of the jogger types). It helps with vertical 🙌
Please could you add more "yes"-outfits in the future to the SD style, I feel now I know more about the outfits that are not so great for the SD style but would love to see more about the ones that are goodlooking on SDs.

Much of the time, I end up creating a box on top, and never realized I shouldn't be creating a box. But I think I can pull things from this; I often feel like I should wear things tighter or closer to my body, so I naturally tug and fuss with my clothing as I'm wearing it, and I can be very self-conscious. I can do simple things like a center tuck and leaving the sides/back of the top loose and relaxed, or wear things a little oversized to look more draped. I feel like it's tough trying to find something soft and relaxed but with enough structure so we're not going into natural territory, where I feel "comfy" but like I'm hiding my body and losing my waist.
I felt this way as a SD shopping at free people! I never understood why it didn’t sit right but I had a lot of those bell shaped loose tops. I’m still having a hard time finding a brand that I can close my eyes and buy from as a SD, best of luck to you on this journey :)
Thank you for posting this. Now I'm convinced I'm SD, not TR. My face is TR, but my bone structure is SD. These types of outfits flatter my figure a lot.
Yess! Also, I'm so used to wear more tight clothes so that my curves would show. You change my perspective by telling me to go size up, I'm so not used to it! But I try and see how I like it 😊

Can anyone recommend the best male content creators that do things like this? I don’t know the first thing about this type of stuff and I’m trying to get into it.
I am a soft natural but a lot of soft dramatic styles look better on me because of the way it accentuates my curves. The common recommendations of SN usually just aren’t really my style either (very bohemian, loose fitted). I would love to know your SN recommendations to give me some more ideas of what to wear.
Aly, I guess I inhalted almost each of your SD videos. And I learned a lot about myself. I would not recommend a wrap dress for SD. It is diffult to manage the difference between waist and bust area. Even if the fabric is very elastic it does not look good. A straight dress, a bit loose but not oversize with a soft and elastic fabric and a belt in the waist look way better on me. I sewed a couple of dresses and they always look very good. ❤ ⏳
I diagnosed myself as soft gamine before, but nowI put on some weight and those crisp and compact cloths no longer work good for me. I find these soft dramatic lines quite flattering for me now. I might be a soft dramatic now although I’m only 1.55m
Very good I always learn. In my case. I have short torso, meaning my waistline is only a palm under breasts, it is very hard to find clothes with slightly waistline definition. I am soft dramatic but living in Asia usually hard as well to find dresses for me :). Wrap dresses and cowl necks are the best for my figure. Love big elegant jewellery/ zirconia, moissanites. I think I’m closest to a soft dramatic. I’m very curvy, especially on the bottom half of my body. My bust makes it more complicated since I have very few curves there (looks even smaller since I’m 5’10” so the proportions are off). So it’s like my top half fits more with dramatic and my waist down is more soft dramatic.
oooh haven't watched it yet but i really hope u make a soft classic one!! i've just about nailed my winter/autumn clothes but i still struggle with summer so much, i ended up most of last year in just a sports bra and shorts😭
I love all the information and everything Kibbe that Aly does but at the same time I feel like she doesn't fully understand how it is to dress a curvy figure. The wrap dress example at 1:15 on the left is not good for a larger bust which many SD have, it will make us look much heavier and sloppy/saggy, it looks more fitting for a Natural type maybe that is more even in proportion, tight/dry instead of fleshy and more relaxed vibe? at 13:12 is another misunderstanding about curves, a rib knit dress in a size too large will make an SD look like a puffy tube even when underweight, very unflattering. It clings to the curves (bust, hips, bum, tummy) yet hides the contrasting slimmer parts (ribcage, waist, lower back). A dress that is bought from a store that uses Classic measurements for their garments will absolutely be too stretched out over the curves if it fits the waist, but the solution is not to go larger, it's to find something different or make it yourself.
Yeah, I find that with a lot of her recommendations, she just doesnt have a SD body herself so I find a lot of the information she gives just doesnt work for SD
I'm very tall, and feel like I look like Andre the Giant in a tutu if I ever wear a ruffle. Ruffles are a big no from me. They are as bad as a pixie cut on a SD, but in the opposite way. Having said that, I often recommend Aly Art channel to people just learning about Kibbe.

I love all the information and everything Kibbe that Aly does but at the same time I feel like she doesn't fully understand how it is to dress a curvy figure.
