Great video Dillon. Getting the hands on view of the process. Glad you are enjoying it and things worked out for you. Wishing you and the family all the best......👍🤙
Thank you very much Kevin 🙏 It's great to hear from you and I wish you and your family the best as well, my friend! So far, I am liking it a lot. Thank you for the kind words and I hope you have a blessed summer.
Great information!! Am sure you already do but just make sure you always lock your truck up when it's not in sight ... even for just a few minutes. God bless you sir!! You have a great work ethic!!
Great video Dillon. I got a kick out of the Metallica dude on your second drop. 🤙🏼I really enjoy meeting good people like that along the trail sometimes.🇨🇦
Thank you very much, Mike 🙏 he was a funny guy for sure. I thought I heard a cat meowing at one point, and when I looked over, I realized it was him, lol. He was a character. I agree, it is nice meeting friendly people along the way and hearing their stories as well. Keep up the great with work with your vlogs, and be safe 🇨🇦 🇺🇸 👍
Nice job, driver 👍 you gonna do just fine and will find your own technique to unload these trailers. When you get in a tight spot with docking, get out and look .safe travels driver 🙏
Thank you very much for all of your kind comments 🙏 I appreciate that a lot! So far, I really enjoy touch freight and the family dollar account. I'm looking forward to the future and seeing my first full check as well 👍
Just applied to US Xpress today actually and you came up on my feed. I’m from Stanford Ky so I’d probably be doing the same account so this is nice to see what I’d be doing. I’m still on the fence though due to having little kids at home still (3 girls) but love watching your videos man. Been watching them all day.
I do Family dollar for 2 years, doing that job keep you in shape, and its a really good experience you have to backing into really tide place, so if you do family dollar you can backing any where you want when i work that account i do all Midwest sometimes i have to drop dobles to some other DC too, good luck, and be safe.
You had the right idea in the beginning just coming straight in and backing up. I'm not trying to be disrespectful but with 30 yrs of experience i'm surprised it took him that long with all that space.
Another tip for some of the things that won't roll on and you don't have a flat one to sit it on, put it on the rollers and then put a heavy one behind it, like one of the chemical boxes. The heavy one will push it right on down.
I worked the Dollar Tree acct for awhile. I usually took 3 bottled waters in the trailers with me in the summertime. When it reaches 80 outside, the inside of that trailer will be over 100. Also used a back brace because alot of turning, bending and twisted.
You just became a truck driving package handler. Was a package handler for 4 years myself. What seems to be nice about your job is you don't have a manager down your neck about moving faster constantly, and you only have to worry about 1 trailer instead of however many are in the yard. With experience I can say there is always at least 1 package per trailer with your name on it, so be vigilant. And the feeling of "who loaded this?!?" I can relate to wholeheartedly 😂
I passed my CDL road test on Friday. I have two more days of cargo securement at Roehl then I’ll be off to home to wait for an over the road trainer. Took the test on wed and passed it all except I hit that curb by the gas station right before you get on the highway.
Congratulations on getting your cdl! You and "willy on wheels" are around the same place in your progression. I think he is going with a trainer soon as well. I wish you the best with it! Going with a trainer is an exciting milestone and experience 👍
This unloading seems like such a massive waste of time. Just palletize everything and shrink wrap it. You get less damage on the merchandise and the driver and employees only need to move the pallets around with a lift. Crazy
They don't get a roller rack installed until they feel like you're going to stick with it. It's a tough job and a lot of drivers don't stick around. I did this for a few months, pay was great. Locations were crazy lol.
Haha, it happened pretty fast, didn't it! I had around 6 hours of footage for that day, so I tried to edit it down a lot. I'm actually gonna make a part 2 for that one day. There was so much footage.
@@bluegrassoutdoors I look forward to watching it. Is this new position you are doing a home daily thing or weekends like regional?. Stay safe out there.
@Crankshaft-cq1nd Thank you very much 🙏 It is home weekends. I would love to get a local position in the future, if they have them. I haven't asked them about that yet. But for now, I am satisfied with being home on the weekends. So far, I am really enjoying this type of trucking!
Amen brother you doing good out there, excellent footage to. Question, I'm wanting to get into trucking, and I'm trying to figure what one is better your opinion, good the school route and having a grant pay for it, or doing something like a roehl or prime type of deal?
Thank you very much, my friend 🙏 If I were able to get a grant, I would go with that route, personally. But if not, I believe somewhere that offers a gycdl program is a good option as well. Especially if you see yourself staying with the company long enough to finish your contract. I wish you the best with your trucking journey and thank you for the kind words 🙏
There were numerous reasons I wanted to become a trucker. The pay, the freedom in your own truck, seeing the sites, the opportunities I knew it would present over time, the security in it, the joy of driving the trucks. Is there a particular answer you are looking for with that question?
Nothing towards you but I give you 4 months before you leave that company Before you leave swift night Transportation/US Express They have a tendency to exaggerate on everything But good luck anyway
Fascinatingly excellent behind the scenes looking behind the job! This exactly what I need to see, thanks so much!

@@OvenBak3d360 Jason. He got his cdl at the Marshfield terminal, if I'm not mistaken.
Were there any women going for their CDL? I picked Rhoel too for my CDL, just wondering.
@user-xv3gd6qr6m yes ma'am. There were two women in my group for dry van and one woman for reefer.
Didn't know Kentucky had an Amish community, and I thought they were only northeast of Pennsylvania. Love their, little buggies.

First I've heard about it. But maybe so. Us xpress has numerous accounts if they do 👍

You'll be fit in no time.
Did you know up front this job was going to require you to unload your freight yourself?
Yes indeed
Where you following him in your own truck that’s what it looks like
Yes indeed. They said they started doing that since coof 19.

Wasn’t the Dollar account supposed to be No Touch loads?
No, it's touch freight

What’s the Kroger account like?
I have no experience with that account myself. Buy from what I heard, you use an electric pallet jack to remove pallets of product from the trailer.
