Uncovering credit card skimmers

Fueling up -- nearly everyone in Houston has to do it. For many people, all it takes to pay is a quick swipe of a credit or debit card. But that swipe could put you at risk if a crook has hidden a skimmer on or inside the gas pump.

to be fair modern cellphones aren't an issue but the off chance it somehow causes a fire at least the gas station has a sign saying that no phones are allowed

Just pay with your phone via NFC, using the mobile app can provide tokens to act as decoys encrypting your cards' information especially in gas stations. Tokens are useless on their own when they are not backed by your cards' original signature reading. Your tokens are only backed (and effective) within your devices while scammers may have stolen your token readings which is just a decoy at best they still cannot make purchases 🔐

GOOD QUESTION! Yeah, that doesn't make any sense! Unless of course the clerks themselves are doing it, which also wouldn't surprise me. You know how crooked a lot of gas station tenants look and act. Just sayin.

First rule in life NEVER TRUST ANYONE. The casinos are very corrupt with your card. Do not use a card on an ATM.

I tap everywhere. It has been available in the UK since 2008 and I was always amazed when Americans would come to the UK and be amazed at the ability to tap your card before it became available in the US

I never used my physical Apple card anywhere and it was used at a college for tuition. Apple caught it thankfully. When you have a card in Apple wallet, they all are given a digital card number for wallet purchases, so how did they get my physical number? Yes, got a new card. Be very aware.
