  • Sent the Metabo nailer back (Amazons return process was very easy) because I want a nail gun that works right and purchased The comparable Porter Cable pin nailer. This one seems to work fine and consistently set the nails so it's a keeper. I purchased it at Home Depot because I had a coupon but Amazon is the same price.

Another great demo and thoughtful and thorough review. Porter Cable seems to *still* make good reliable power tools -- unlike a lot of other companies. I see them in a lot of toolboxes used by handymen and contractors too. Look like they've been through a few wars but still in use. HAAHA Mrs. URHC definitely knows how to please you!

Thanks. I think she was just kidding because the look on her face changed when I threw them in the basket. She took off and went directly to the plants after that but luckily they had no good looking orchids 😉. She says one can never have too many orchids. At least this nailer does a consistent job. Thanks for watching.

As a professional trim carpenter. My Bostitch pinner quit sinking nails after 3 years. It had a great run. Well worth the money. I needed to pin some small trim moldings onto a large built in that was time sensitive as far as completion went. I found myself at the closest big box store/ Depot. The porter cable pinner was the only pneumatic option available. Long story short this pinner would be better used as a paper weight possibly. It started to dry after about 15 shots give or take. I turned up the PSI , turned down the PSI, changed the rack of pins, disconnected the air hose several times. Just to get out 6 to 8 shots. Then back to the dry firing and back trough the whole process again. A process that should of taken 15 minutes max, took more than 45 minutes. Absolute failure. Like the old saying goes you get what you pay for. Pass on this opportunity to be highly disappointed.

You should return it for a replacement. Mine is still awesome after thousands of pins put through it. Pandemic quality is affecting many items these days. Thanks for watching.

There is a way to prevent blowout. Turn your nailer 90 degrees to the wood and that should stop the blowout.

With Brad's they are rectangular and that can help but pins tend to follow the softer rings in the lumber from what I have seen. Maybe rotating the gun 180 degrees would help a little placing the tiny taper facing the opposite direction. Thanks for watching.

There's no such thing as 'enough' clamps. Your clamp rack just needs to be expanded. I look forward to the video.

These should take care of my clamp shortage. I mean until I find a good deal on parallel jaw clamps 🤔. Thanks for watching.

If you want a little more holding power you can use slightly headed pin nails. Just make sure you line up the the slight heads with the holes towards the front of the nail magazine holder. I think you will like this pin nailer.

I bought the Porter Cable brad nailer BN125A, loved it until the tip of the driver assembly broke. $93 for the repair kit or $55 for the driver assembly. I hate to hear that about Hitachi air nailers, I have their framing nailer and love it! All companies have their different issues, I used to run a Mac tool truck so I've been around the block with air tools...:) Thanks for sharing!

My Porter cable brand nailer is over 20 years old with no problems. The plunger on my HF pin nailer went and I couldn't find a replacement. I liked the Metabo because it was very small but couldn't get consistent results so it was useless to me. I don't know how long the Porter cable will last but it gives good results in the recommended pressure range. time will tell if it lasts. Thanks for watching.

I definitely wouldn't recommend the Metabo. This one seems to work good and I like that it doesn't require lube. .I don't know about any of the other brands or sizes but for up to 1 1/4 pins this one is consistent once you get the pressure dialed in. Thanks for watching.

Re Blowing out the side: Turn the gun 90 degrees. The pins are rectangular. They will bend and follow the grain. They will bend left or right, but not front to back. (Or not as much) Look at the pins with a magnifying glass and you can see. Like your video. BTW, my beard used to be dark. For some reason, over the years, it turned white. Why does that happen??

Just picked it up last night, and you already got a review out? What about that outlet cover?! LoL
Glad this one worked out the way you had hoped.
When my CH 23 gauge pin nailer was defective out-of-the-box it got swapped. However, I didn't realize at the time because I didn't use it immediately, is it only went up to 1 inch nails compared to the one originally which did longer pins. Also, it has a manual lever to tell it what size nails are in the gun. Finally it has no safety which I wasn't fond of. it works, but I feel like I cheated because I didn't pay enough attention at the time.

I started making a seed video this morning and after 1/2 hour got bored taking pictures of seeds. I started taking off the cover but found the plastic plate is to big and I have to cut 1/4 inch off the left side. Then I just went down to see if this one was any good. My HF one had no safety and I drove a pin in the side of my leg once when I grabbed it off the bench. It didn't hurt much going in but made my scream pulling it out. Thanks for watching.

I have 2 different sized palm nailers made by porter cable, and they are the cats ass! I love them for tight places. By the looks of how the one worked in your video, I'd say that the p.c. brand works night and day better. Just an fyi

I've been looking for a pin nailer. This review came at the right time. Is there any reason you didn't look at the Dewalt pin nailer? Hope to see an update after you have used it for a while. Thank you.

    • @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023
      @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023  4 роки тому +2

The dewalt is bigger and I have no use for longer pins. Over 1 1/4 and I use the 18 gauge nailer. I just show updates in the videos if nothing drastically changes. I would not recommend the Metabo one that I tried first. Thanks for watching.
