I only own three bottles from this line and was surprised and delighted to see them all lined up in front of your vase of flowers. Since they are now all discontinued, I will treasure them all the more.
Also thanks for clarifying putting the fragrance on the thinner end. I caught on a while ago that you were actually supposed to do it that way, but wasn't sure why. The dipping makes sense!!
£29 for Orange Blossom 100ml at Penhaligon's website, didn't even think about it just bought it as it's £80 off. I hope as a man I can get to enjoy it just a little bit. Great video thanks Mate.
I also bought it 2 days ago...along with ellenisia and the favourite...all great bargains..I hope I wont regret as its total blind buy..waiting for it to arrive
I revisited Orangeblossom after watching your review, and it's pretty fab. I love Seville au l'Aube, but you definitely will get some looks when you wear it.
I love the bottles with the animal heads roaring radcliffe is on my to buy list along with the bewitching yasmine When I think of Ostara I think of Easter Amaranthine conjures up images of the flower amaranth which is a native to south America I think we've had it growing in the garden since 1978
My first Penhaligon was the “original” Orange Blossom bought somewhere around 1990 at Harrods (when it still a chic old ladies store). Back then it was sort of a green chypre. I think Puig did a good job reformulating Blenheim Bouquet to its former glory. Also the classic bottles are now made of thicker glass and the stoppers are not flimsy anymore. Now, one thing that I don’t understand is how they keep promoting Bluebell on Instagram yet there never seam to be a bottle available in the webshop. And oh! That website with its Victorian newspaper/barbershop/tattoo shop iconography has had its time.
I tried Halfeti Leather today, first ever scent that i have tried from this brand, i really dig it! one of the rare ones that have "'oud" in the notes, that i enjoy a lot
I’ve started my foray into Penhaligon’s this year and I’ve come to really like Elisabethan Rose 😊 I’ve tried other ones (As Sawira, Artemisia, Douro, Luna, Bluebell, Iris Prima, Ellenisia) and wish I liked more from their catalogue but for the most part of what I tried, it just did not appeal to me. It does not stop my curiousity though and as of writing, I am waiting for another sample order. Fingers crossed! 🙈
@@FrazzledVirgo nothing wrong with them, just not my cup of tea! Longevity isn't the best with most of them either! For the most part, besides Elisabethan Rose, I haven't found any that I like enough for me to pull the trigger and buy a full bottle.
Just found you, new sub 🙂 I love Penhaligons - My favorites are Artemisia and Iris Prima. Love them 💕 Also, I so agree with you on the Portraits bottles! Not appealing at all.
I have Blenheim Bouquet, Sartorial, Quercus and Opus 1870. They are all excellent quality but Blenheim Bouquet and Sartorial are exceptional. Penhaligon’s have their Secret Sale on at the moment and I’ve took the risk and blind bought Vaara.
your descriptions of fragrances are heard like songs in my ear. please keep showing your passions . I like your taste and information about shirt , perfume. why did not I discover your channel earlier , now I am falling.
Thank you for your beautiful reviews. I agree with you on Penhaligon's Lily of the valley. It is lovely. Now I wish I had known the pre formulated version.... I first tried it two years ago when I was searching for a lily of the valley scent and went for........Diorissimo edp. Many greetings
Here for a second viewing of this fascinating video as my 3 purchases from the Penhaligons winter sale arrived this morning. Opus 1870, Lothair and Orange Blossom. I agree regarding the Portrait premium range that it goes beyond eccentricity and tips into silliness and the animals appear to have no genuine link with the story or the scent!
@@Persolaise The Orange Blossom is beautiful and I love the Lothair too - very resinous once dried down. I’ll have to test the Opus for a bit longer, but I do like it.
Roaring Radcliffe is my only Penhalion's fragrance. I initially loved it, but I find the ginger note excessively dominates. The weight of the bottle cap is impressive, but the label on my bottle seems cheap and is badly applied, something I wouldn't expect from a fragrance of this price.
I only discovered Penhaligon’s a year ago and I have three of their scents Paithani, Empressa and Ellensia. Would love to get Vaara, Halfeti and Equinox Bloom.
You know whats bothering me for years? And i never dared to ask? Why on gods earth to you use the thinner end of the "idontknowtheword" Now i browse old videos from you i finally got my answer. I can sleep peacefully today..🤣I already said it many many times but i always enjoy your passion for fragrances. Thanks for that. again.
The performance of Sartorial surprised me as I have always found the longevity of Penhaligon’s fragrances somewhat lacklustre. For me, Sartorial projects well through a whole work day.
@@Persolaise I said in my comment that I’d never heard of you. Turns out I actually have your beautiful little book, “Le Snob”! I bought it around 2013/14. It was the Persolaise name that confused me and I’d never noticed any of your videos on UA-cam (do you prefer to be addressed as Persolaise or Dariush? UA-cam algorithms are a law unto themselves and seem to unfairly promote channels purely on their willingness to try and game those algorithms. Great to match the book up with the author and am really enjoying the videos thank you very much. Will get to the blog as soon as time allows.
@@Persolaise Thank you very much. It was a really good idea to put the elastic on it - makes it a great reference to travel with. I’ve even taken it on holiday abroad, much to the amusement of my daughters who just don’t get my obsession with perfumes!
I recently tried Blazing Mister Sam. I quite liked it, a bit of a 'crowd pleaser'. It would have to be heavily discounted before I bought a bottle though.
Wow nice job getting that interview. I remember you telling them in the other video we'd like an interview lol. I'd like to know if they are planning a new vision or focus for the company or planning to continue it as it. I am writing in the beginning of the video so not sure if you are mentioning Lord George or not. But Jeremy Fragrance told me in an interview that it would be a great fragrance for poets.
Thanks for putting this out. One of the more descriptive and informative reviews I've seen thus far. What is your thoughts on Penhaligon's Endymion Concentre? Would love to see your review on it if possible
I’m looking for a bridal fragrance for my wedding but...I won’t even smell samples of the portraits as the bottles just put me off! I know it shouldn’t matter but I really love the older apothecary style bottles so I’ve ordered samples from most of those and hoping to find a beautiful, lasting floral x I like older scents like Estée Lauder private collection and beautiful, Lou Lou and Gucci bloom ambrosia di fiori etc so maaaaybe bluebell? 🤷🏻♀️😅
Mr. P, do you think Tralala is worth trying/buying? (Ohhhhhh I already found your review on your blog!!!!!!! So now maybe could you tell if your opinion on Tralala has changed or is it the same?) Also, Ostara means the pagan festivities for spring - or a spring goddess I guess as one of the viewers has said

What was the name of the best orange blossom that mentioned in French? I love a good orange blossom fragrance. Do have any videos of soapy or fresh fragrances?
I like the portraits bottles very much except for the ugly Bull and uglier dog. The dragon one (Arthur) is the prettiest one with the flashy red liquid hahaha. I do love looking at tacky things. I even got a Scandal miniature beacause of those cute little legs. I Wonder who came up first with this idea of figurative perfume bottles I actually don't think the Penhaligon's Portraits bottles are tacky... they remind me of chess pieces. But the bull and dog figurines are undeniably very very ugly.
