You've got me wanting to pick up that Pillow Talk fragrance!!! Very intriguing.
If you like the sound of it, I think you need to try it.
I've been a huge fan of Fanny Bal, ever since I fell in love with her creation Tudo Azul for Anima Vinci, which I discovered after it was discontinued and sold out everywhere. I follow her on IG, hoping she will recreate it for another perfume house soon, lol

You're always so cheerful in these Sunday posts, I always look forward to them. The animal musks I have are Kiehl's original and l'Air de Rien but you've convinced me to try Pillow talk as you were so obviously taken with it, Shalimar's descendants always attract me.

I do own a bottle of Francesca Bianchi’s Encounters and am enjoying it. I have been a fan of her perfumes for years when her first fragrance Sex and the Sea came out. I do agree that there is a certain commonality in her fragrances, but that is what draws a lot of us to them.
Yes, I think many people love the consistency of her style.
Great video, as always! Would love for you to review the fairly new Dutch brand Van De Zotte. They have recently released their third fragrance called Wild. The first two are Mills and Polder.

Ohhh I had never heard of side story until you. I went to their site and wow I love love 💕 how they describe their scents! Not too overdone but just right ? Now there’s like two on there that I want! Ugh this perfume love thing is 😅I should have married rich ha

Black tea accords never seem to bloom properly off of paper. It was like that for Cavallier's Imagination on me. Needs the warmth of skin to develop. Always appreciate your impressions!

I think the first few perfumes of the Portraits collection really nailed the story and the perfumes they created. Now, I think because of the success of the line, it became something else.

Almost every Penhaligons product that I've smelled has a prominent designer-adjacency to it and Mr. Thompson is no different with the same iris that you can smell in many scents from Valentino, Dior etc. It's just the sweet-creamy-lactonic opening (which barely even lasts) where the short-lived uniqueness stems from.
I guess I liked it a bit more than you did.

I think Pillow Talk was the name of a film with Doris Day. So I was thinking roses, peonies, possibly carnations while hearing you say, “animalic”. My brain experienced the same confusion as when drinking coffee from a mug that you normally sip tea from. No, no this is all wrong 😂
I liked Shalimar though but not if I put my nose to my wrist. Pleasant wafts from a distance.
I think you’re right about the movie. This perfume is far from innocent, though.

Do you have any further thoughts on Pillow Talk, the other Side Story fragrances or the brand itself? Pillow Talk sounds great, but there’s precious little information or reviews available at the moment.
So far, that one remains my favourite from the brand. The other ones I’ve tried are a bit derivative.

I love Fanny and Ropion especially together!! 💕 and darn i never felt the need for any of the toy bear 🐻bottles BUT even with that look on your face when you smelled Pearl?!! I think that’s a a big NO!! Ha ……i may break down it if I see a pre owned one on Mercari just for the weird bottle!!

There's a place for AI in our lives, but that's just not it.

I was interested in that pretty pearly Toy until you mentioned the AI aspect. I don’t want to assimilate with the Borg at the behest of our technocratic overlords who are trying to make humans obsolete. AI is a wolf in sheep’s clothing, IMO. A lot of people are going to be out of work.
