This video is so timely! My husband just bought ME an ebike for MY birthday so we will be able to cycle together when we are Rving! My husband is an avid road cyclist, and has been trying to get me on a road bike for a long time, which I refuse to do (riding on the road is NOT for me), nor am I in his class when it comes to riding (he competes in racing events). But the ebike is a GREAT compromise for us - it allows me to cycle effectively with him on trails and bike paths, and we can go explore so many places! One small note in response to your video, and I know others mentioned this as well. It is wise AND good manners to be familiar with the cycling rules and laws of each state you visit. Helps you be safe, and build good reputations as cyclists. (And remember, y'all are CYCLISTS, not bikers! I have had my electric pedal assist bike for 3 years now. I absolutely love it. I am not much of a cyclist these days (vs.10-20 years ago), but I love it. My commute to work is 6.5 miles one-way, 5 miles of which are on a dedicated bike/pedestrian trail by a creek with no stops the entire way. My ebike officially tops out at 20mph so it is allowed on that trail (>21 mph models, like the 28 mph model one step above my model, are not). I can push it to 22-23mph on a fresh charge. What I love best is the beginning of summer when I am out of biking shape, is that it is such a breeze to ride and get started again for taking 6 months off. By the end of fall when the rainy weather kicks up, I am in pretty good biking shape. Those really are a nice price. I got my ebike for $1,750 on a half-off sale through Crazy Lenny's, and still very, very satisfied. Paired with your solar, those really are the ultimate free ride during the shiney summer months. I get 2.5 round trips, but I always charge up at 2 trips just in case of bad wind on the way home... Plus I charge for free at work (and we're the power company, so they don't care).
FYI In some states riding bikes on sidewalks is illegal. Ohio passed a law some 20-30 yrs ago designating sidewalks for "pedestrian" traffic only, mainly because of kids on skateboards and Rollerblades. It has become problematic with the increase of motorized wheelchairs and such. I've seen walkways and trails marked "No E-Bikes" lately.
I ordered one. My work is 6 miles away (there and back total 12 mile ). I hate having to burn gas for a short commute, plus riding to work by bike will just be more fun. Now I just have to wait for it to ship LOL. Used the promo code as well to get the pannier bags for free. Man, I'm excited !

I pre-ordered one.... I am a full-time RVer and I was going to get a Honda 110 trail bike and I was going to have to get a cargo container to haul it ( my rig is a truck with the truck camper on top ) but this is like a miracle everything you said is true about this how superior it is to a petroleum products vehicle and the power is free.... I'm so excited I can't wait for July or August when they are released!... another factor is you don't have to go through the whole get your motorcycle license and insurance thing ....wow! As a cyclist (in the past) I would like to say congrats and one more thing: If you both Raise your seat-post UP 2-3" your ride will feel a lot better. You do not want to be sitting on the seat with your feet flat on the ground. Yeah, it feels nice but for that better fit and feel to RIDE the bike right, move that seat post up 2-3" Trust me.

We're hitting the road next year so I decided to do something similar. I purchased a couple of kits from Lunacycle and added them to our existing mountain bikes. After taking it for a ride there was no way we were riding bikes that didn't have disk brakes. So I ordered a couple of bikes from bicycles direct and moved the motors to the new bikes. The ones we got have hydraulic discs, 29 inch wheels and they fly. Close to 40mph with my 200 pound self on it. I know you said you weren't cyclists so one bit of advice is you need to raise your seats so that when you are pedaling your hips are straight and when your leg is at the bottom of the stroke your knee should be just slightly bent, riding the way you were in that video puts a ton of stress on your knees. I’m pretty new to your channel - about 2 months - I used to be a full-timer, and once upon a time I kinda thought I was a cyclist - at some fairly low level! So anyway how many commenters ragged on you for riding on the sidewalks? It’s really unsafe! Both for the rider and unsuspecting pedestrians AND unsuspecting drivers! I was glad to see the helmets. My excuse for not riding much anymore is age, it’s not a good excuse, but it’s my excuse! Anyway after this video I’m really excited about these bikes! Maybe it will get me going on two wheels again. And I can still pedal and pretend I’m getting excercise. Anyway I love you guys and stay safe.
As a full time RV traveler for the last 9 years, an electric bike is so nice to have. I just built a new one which is a fat tire like those but has full suspension.
With the awesome advertising you did for them, they should've let you keep the bikes. Don't do free advertising. Next time, negotiate a better deal for the thousands $$$ you will bring in for the company.

My rig has 720 watts worth of panels (but mine are easily removable so I can park the camper in the shade and put the panels in the sun) and 5 years ago I bought a folding Prodecotech eBike and it was great. For example, at Acadia NP in Maine they have 25 miles or so of old carriage trails great for bikes which was perfect to get me around to different places to take my photos (I'm a photographer). My suggestion is to get an extra battery to carry with you so if the first one runs out, you can get back easily. And the sun charged it!
These guys are going to sell a ton of these to RVers. Even if your destination has paved roads, it's the unpaved portion of the trip that is a killer for most e-bikes.
Mine should be coming in September. I ordered it about 3 weeks ago and your video helped seal the deal. This will be my second folding e-bike. I have the Ness Icon but I want to try a fat tire that’s capable of traveling on loose gravel and such. The Icon is mainly for pavement. Just hope that those fat tires make up for no suspension. My research of ebikes brought me here. This bike seems to be an exact copy of voltbike’s Mariner model. It’s been out for a few yrs and hugely popular. But more expensive. (That’s life in Canada) It was serendipitous as I found this channel. Immediately subbed! You were in the crime capital of America, good thing you stayed with the bikes! I forget how many bikes and vehicles are stolen everyday but it's unbelievable.
The price for these is pretty good, in the '90's I bought a mountain bike for $1200, now that I'm older these are looking like a good option to get back out there again. You two did such a good job talking about these, I hope they can give you a nice discount for your PR work!
We used to call those rear spring-loaded racks "rat traps" lol. E-bikes seem the way to go for many reasons. Trent & Allie bought motorcycles in Mexico - what an endless headache that turned out to be ! License, ins., high cost, gas/oil mess, risk of theft, weight (theirs broke the rear carry rack twice), and so on. Have fun -

Happy Birthday! Make sure you check the regs wherever you use them, most places don’t allow bikes on the sidewalks. And yes, $900 is cheap for an electric bike, with $1500 prices for the couple I’ve looked at.
Even worse, some states (such as Ohio) don't allow them on the street unless you jump through their hoops to obtain a moped/scooter driver's license, plate and buy liability insurance!

Great vid 2nd time tonight seen this bike I'm impressed, I've had 3 e bikes but that was 5 yrs ago lots have changed. The previous vid the dude went 25 - 28 mph which is plenty fast for most, but I like going faster. The only thing I see is how squirrelly the front end is, might consider a little wider handle bars for a more stable ride other than that keep her happy and you'll live longer.

My wife and I love to boon dock and have ebikes that are mountain bikes. Just like you mentioned we are not cyclist especially in rough hilly terrain. We use the bike extensively when camping and have done round trips over 14 miles so the added benefit is the exploring we would not otherwise have done and we do pedal assist and get our exercise also. Great for traveling.

Also, those bikes were prototypes. Meaning, it's not possible to give them away. But, I'm sure they will get a significant, if not free, bike out of it... IMHO!!

Hey John! Thank you so much!! We loved riding around on them and did not want to return them haha. We absolutely will be getting some pretty beefy locks for them, can't just let $1,800 worth of bikes lying around unsecured! Spare battery packs are definitely not a bad idea, we may get a couple in the future if we find out we need them. Worst case scenario we always pedal home right?
Who wouldn't want one of those ? If the production version has a 35 mph top speed, I would imagine that driven slowly they would have an even longer range. I really like the clean design .... smooth surfaces without things sticking out to catch on things and super simple folding process. I'm surprised that the government hasn't adopted a licensing requirement just because they seldom miss an opportunity to pad their cofers. It is much like a conventional moped after all and they require tags.

The 35mph top speed was something we were exploring, but because of the regulations surrounding the moped/ebike divide, we decided to limit the top speed to 28mph. This will make the bike safer and legal in states with laws recognizing that bikes going 28mph or less do not need registration etc. You can manually set the top speed of the bike on the display to conform with local regulations as well. Great video I have one ordered and should be here in the next few weeks but I have a question. Can you use just the throttle on PAS 0? In other words can you pedal it like a regular bike with no assist but only use the throttle when you need it?
Be careful when using sidewalks. They are designed for pedestrians primarily. Most towns restrict bike use off sidewalks to avoid collisions with pedestrians and cars that don’t expect bikes to be crossing parking lot entrances etc. Also, do you have a link to this bike company and how to order one for that price? Don’t see anything for “LECTRIC” bikes.

We have two e-bikes as well on the RV. A GreenBike USA model and a Rad Mini Step-through. Both folding and with fat tires. We love them... Locking them up is a pain as is transporting them. One of them ended up riding on the back of the RV and by the time we got back home, there was dirt and grime in the throttle and electronics. And 60# is still heavy to hoist up and down into the RV or the back of the truck. BTW, if they go more than 20 mph, it's not legal to ride on bike paths or sidewalks.

This video is so timely! My husband just bought ME an ebike for MY birthday so we will be able to cycle together when we are Rving!
My husband is an avid road cyclist, and has been trying to get me on a road bike for a long time, which I refuse to do (riding on the road is NOT for me), nor am I in his class when it comes to riding (he competes in racing events). But the ebike is a GREAT compromise for us - it allows me to cycle effectively with him on trails and bike paths, and we can go explore so many places!
One small note in response to your video, and I know others mentioned this as well. It is wise AND good manners to be familiar with the cycling rules and laws of each state you visit. Helps you be safe, and build good reputations as cyclists. (And remember, y'all are CYCLISTS, not bikers! That's one bit of terminology I had to learn!) 😉

I have had my electric pedal assist bike for 3 years now. I absolutely love it. I am not much of a cyclist these days (vs.10-20 years ago), but I love it.
My commute to work is 6.5 miles one-way, 5 miles of which are on a dedicated bike/pedestrian trail by a creek with no stops the entire way. My ebike officially tops out at 20mph so it is allowed on that trail (>21 mph models, like the 28 mph model one step above my model, are not). I can push it to 22-23mph on a fresh charge.
What I love best is the beginning of summer when I am out of biking shape, is that it is such a breeze to ride and get started again for taking 6 months off. By the end of fall when the rainy weather kicks up, I am in pretty good biking shape.
Those really are a nice price. I got my ebike for $1,750 on a half-off sale through Crazy Lenny's, and still very, very satisfied.
Paired with your solar, those really are the ultimate free ride during the shiney summer months. I get 2.5 round trips, but I always charge up at 2 trips just in case of bad wind on the way home... Plus I charge for free at work (and we're the power company, so they don't care).
I just received my bike. It’s very impressive. High performance for the looks. Easy to use and Handel. Taking camping.
FYI In some states riding bikes on sidewalks is illegal. Ohio passed a law some 20-30 yrs ago designating sidewalks for "pedestrian" traffic only, mainly because of kids on skateboards and Rollerblades. It has become problematic with the increase of motorized wheelchairs and such. I've seen walkways and trails marked "No E-Bikes" lately.
My thoughts exactly Roy, and can you imagine someone going 22-35 mph on the side walk(and you know someone will) yikes!

I am a full-time RVer and I was going to get a Honda 110 trail bike and I was going to have to get a cargo container to haul it ( my rig is a truck with the truck camper on top ) but this is like a miracle everything you said is true about this how superior it is to a petroleum products vehicle and the power is free.... I'm so excited I can't wait for July or August when they are released!... another factor is you don't have to go through the whole get your motorcycle license and insurance thing ....wow!

As a cyclist (in the past) I would like to say congrats and one more thing: If you both Raise your seat-post UP 2-3" your ride will feel a lot better. You do not want to be sitting on the seat with your feet flat on the ground.
Yeah, it feels nice but for that better fit and feel to RIDE the bike right, move that seat post up 2-3" Trust me.

@@arriagada1957 You must not have watched the video or checked the description of this video for the link to their website. In the video we say it's $900 AND the price is listed on their website.
We're hitting the road next year so I decided to do something similar. I purchased a couple of kits from Lunacycle and added them to our existing mountain bikes. After taking it for a ride there was no way we were riding bikes that didn't have disk brakes. So I ordered a couple of bikes from bicycles direct and moved the motors to the new bikes. The ones we got have hydraulic discs, 29 inch wheels and they fly. Close to 40mph with my 200 pound self on it. I know you said you weren't cyclists so one bit of advice is you need to raise your seats so that when you are pedaling your hips are straight and when your leg is at the bottom of the stroke your knee should be just slightly bent, riding the way you were in that video puts a ton of stress on your knees. Good luck and maybe we'll see you down the road.

I’m pretty new to your channel - about 2 months - I used to be a full-timer, and once upon a time I kinda thought I was a cyclist - at some fairly low level! So anyway how many commenters ragged on you for riding on the sidewalks? It’s really unsafe! Both for the rider and unsuspecting pedestrians AND unsuspecting drivers! I was glad to see the helmets. My excuse for not riding much anymore is age, it’s not a good excuse, but it’s my excuse! Anyway after this video I’m really excited about these bikes! Maybe it will get me going on two wheels again. And I can still pedal and pretend I’m getting excercise. Anyway I love you guys and stay safe.

As a full time RV traveler for the last 9 years, an electric bike is so nice to have. I just built a new one which is a fat tire like those but has full suspension.

This would be perfect for my disabled wife. I’ve bookmarked their URL and will seriously consider one next year.
My rig has 720 watts worth of panels (but mine are easily removable so I can park the camper in the shade and put the panels in the sun) and 5 years ago I bought a folding Prodecotech eBike and it was great. For example, at Acadia NP in Maine they have 25 miles or so of old carriage trails great for bikes which was perfect to get me around to different places to take my photos (I'm a photographer). My suggestion is to get an extra battery to carry with you so if the first one runs out, you can get back easily. And the sun charged it!

These guys are going to sell a ton of these to RVers. Even if your destination has paved roads, it's the unpaved portion of the trip that is a killer for most e-bikes.
Mine should be coming in September. I ordered it about 3 weeks ago and your video helped seal the deal. This will be my second folding e-bike. I have the Ness Icon but I want to try a fat tire that’s capable of traveling on loose gravel and such. The Icon is mainly for pavement. Just hope that those fat tires make up for no suspension. My research of ebikes brought me here. This bike seems to be an exact copy of voltbike’s Mariner model. It’s been out for a few yrs and hugely popular. But more expensive. (That’s life in Canada) It was serendipitous as I found this channel. Immediately subbed! My wife and I have 2 electic fat tire bikes. We never leave for a trip without them. Help us explore the local life without over fatiguing. We do use the pedal option but when we feel to tired we just hit the throttle and off we go!.

The price for these is pretty good, in the '90's I bought a mountain bike for $1200, now that I'm older these are looking like a good option to get back out there again. You two did such a good job talking about these, I hope they can give you a nice discount for your PR work!
We used to call those rear spring-loaded racks "rat traps" lol.
E-bikes seem the way to go for many reasons. Trent & Allie bought motorcycles in Mexico - what an endless headache that turned out to be ! License, ins., high cost, gas/oil mess, risk of theft, weight (theirs broke the rear carry rack twice), and so on.

Happy Birthday! Make sure you check the regs wherever you use them, most places don’t allow bikes on the sidewalks. And yes, $900 is cheap for an electric bike, with $1500 prices for the couple I’ve looked at.
Even worse, some states (such as Ohio) don't allow them on the street unless you jump through their hoops to obtain a moped/scooter driver's license, plate and buy liability insurance!

Great vid 2nd time tonight seen this bike I'm impressed, I've had 3 e bikes but that was 5 yrs ago lots have changed. The previous vid the dude went 25 - 28 mph which is plenty fast for most, but I like going faster. The only thing I see is how squirrelly the front end is, might consider a little wider handle bars for a more stable ride other than that keep her happy and you'll live longer.
Very cool bikes! Folding makes so much sense. Love the fat tires - makes them something that would actually work for us between the boat and trailer!

My wife and I love to boon dock and have ebikes that are mountain bikes. Just like you mentioned we are not cyclist especially in rough hilly terrain. We use the bike extensively when camping and have done round trips over 14 miles so the added benefit is the exploring we would not otherwise have done and we do pedal assist and get our exercise also. Great for traveling.

Also, those bikes were prototypes. Meaning, it's not possible to give them away. But, I'm sure they will get a significant, if not free, bike out of it... IMHO!!
We love our SONDORS fold ebikes -- which look very close to Lectric. We have front shocks on our ebikes, which help on rough terrain.
I was going to buy a dirtbike and monthly it's 300$ but this bike is 💯 times better then the dirtbike #freefun

Hey John! Thank you so much!! We loved riding around on them and did not want to return them haha. We absolutely will be getting some pretty beefy locks for them, can't just let $1,800 worth of bikes lying around unsecured! Spare battery packs are definitely not a bad idea, we may get a couple in the future if we find out we need them. Worst case scenario we always pedal home right?

Who wouldn't want one of those ? If the production version has a 35 mph top speed, I would imagine that driven slowly they would have an even longer range. I really like the clean design .... smooth surfaces without things sticking out to catch on things and super simple folding process. I'm surprised that the government hasn't adopted a licensing requirement just because they seldom miss an opportunity to pad their cofers. It is much like a conventional moped after all and they require tags.

The 35mph top speed was something we were exploring, but because of the regulations surrounding the moped/ebike divide, we decided to limit the top speed to 28mph. This will make the bike safer and legal in states with laws recognizing that bikes going 28mph or less do not need registration etc. You can manually set the top speed of the bike on the display to conform with local regulations as well. Great video I have one ordered and should be here in the next few weeks but I have a question. Can you use just the throttle on PAS 0? In other words can you pedal it like a regular bike with no assist but only use the throttle when you need it?

Be careful when using sidewalks. They are designed for pedestrians primarily. Most towns restrict bike use off sidewalks to avoid collisions with pedestrians and cars that don’t expect bikes to be crossing parking lot entrances etc. Also, do you have a link to this bike company and how to order one for that price? Don’t see anything for “LECTRIC” bikes.

Each charger has a 350watt draw so now figuring how to charge both at the same time.

We have two e-bikes as well on the RV. A GreenBike USA model and a Rad Mini Step-through. Both folding and with fat tires. We love them... Locking them up is a pain as is transporting them. One of them ended up riding on the back of the RV and by the time we got back home, there was dirt and grime in the throttle and electronics. And 60# is still heavy to hoist up and down into the RV or the back of the truck.
BTW, if they go more than 20 mph, it's not legal to ride on bike paths or sidewalks.
