Really is a shame this watch is discontinued, would buy this in a heartbeat. I love the fluted bezel
This is the Datejust Alternative i've been waiting for, the fluted bezel while keeping its own style, love it
Looks like another home-run for Tissot--nice balance of affordability, style, performance, with a soupcon of luxury.
soupcon- great choice of words. thumbs up.
Seriously Teddy is the reason I have 10 watches at the moment… introduced me to so many great timepieces. Thank you Teddy for another great review 🎉
The Ballade is underrated. Was looking for an OP or Date just and was getting the Rolex Run Around from the AD. On a whim, bought the previous Ballade with the knurled bezel in two tone. The pics just don't do it justice. It's amazing. So good that I have no desire for a Rolex anymore.
Tried it yesterday at local store. What a watch. Sized perfectly, much better looking than you can see on videos and pictures. I would say that design is something between La Locle and Gentleman + bezel. Bravo Tissot.
Wow! Another great looking Tissot!!! Im sure there will be a silver dial too! I just got my PRX Auto and I’m quite amazed about the quality and how comfortable it fits on my wrist!
I immediately was attracted to the Ballade. Compared it to prior version and I actually do like this one much better. And the price for aa COSC-certified watch makes for a great deal.
Amazing Teddy I thought the same thing about the date just look, as a matter of fact I bought the two tone version and I couldn't be happier!
Discovered this watch on their website and of course lone and behold Teddy has a review - couldn't be more perfect. I just started getting into watches with my Longines Lyre L4 (weekend watch) and a Tissot PRX Quartz (everyday watch) -- but I think this will likely be my 3rd piece to the collection, this is like a nice pair of jeans, it can be dressed up or down with ease.
Thanks! This one is on my list and just found this review. Big fan of the Powermatic 80 COSC. Superb movement at extremely attainable prices. And to your frequent point of the value of third party movements, granted the case could be made for ETA to be considered in-house for Swatch group albeit not in the traditional sense...
You're the best, Teddy. I discover new interesting watches from your channel. 👍
Got this one with white dial and rose gold bracelet, loving it ! With a ice blue prx and green gentleman it's a super trio of colorful watches!
I have just bought this watch after watching this video😀
Thank you Teddy!
I recently bought this watch in the 2 toned yellow gold PVD and can tell you mine is literally SPOT ON in accuracy for about three months straight.
Since you cannot obtain a Datejust from a corrupt AD, I guess this is something to look into. I think this is a great alternative and Thank you Teddy for brining this one to our attention.
I've always had a soft spot for Tissot, the brand was my first foray into 'known' Swiss brand watches with a Seastar model. As a classic style watch I guess the date had to be at the 3 position although my preference would have been the at the 6 position. I would have preferred either a finer or more course fluting of the bezel as well as it does look a tad cut and paste from the Datejust but these are minor niggles. The COSC certification on the PM80 movement is a plus and value for money it would be difficult to knock it. While not on my must purchase list it is on my should check out list as I do love the dial texture and who knows I may pull the trigger. Great review Teddy!
Did you pull the trigger sir
@@everythingautomotiveeta5839 Not yet, I've yet to see one at the AD.
Hello, Teddy. I'm the proud owner of a watch of this model. I must say that it's a wonderful chronometer. And indeed for the price. I should recommend it very effortlessly.
I thank you so much for your videos.
I just picked up one of these but id assume its a bit older as it has the nurreling instead of fluted bezel. White dial with rose gold. I absolutely love it!
Mine should be in next week! My watch dealer has the previous version in store and I liked it a lot. But once I saw this one I liked it slightly more. Both versions are beautiful, just comes down to person preference.
Ahhh ... Gotta love Tissot. Still missing one in my roster 😞
This one is a great choice. I may juste get my hands on it. Thanks for sharing.
Ive recently purchased the two tone version and love it ,its a great alternative to the date just at a very reasonable price. The only shortfalls i would like to mention are the water resistance (would be nice to have a screw down crown ) and more options in dial choices and hopefully an all gold version becomes available soon !
Does it look small on wrist? These video’s with all the closeups it’s hard to tell. I’m really considering buying this
It’s not a dive watch, the 50m water resistance is more than enough.
Such a gorgeous watch this is!
Awesome watches and great value.
I was recently gifted the non-COSC Visodate powermatic 80 and it consistently goes at around -2 seconds a day.
Super impressive piece and I don't mind now keeping the other swiss pieces in the collection box.
Huh, I had no idea Tissot had a COSC model in the 3 figure price range. That's pretty impressive on the value front. They could have a success on their hands here, especially if they threw in a few more color options like blue.
They've had a Ballade COSC for a few years. Not knocking this, but I find the previous model much nicer.
Mido have as well.
Blue option thumbs up
I bought the lady version of it with mother of pearl face for a stunning 299 dollars from grey market and it features the same silicon hairspring cosc version of powermatic 80
I consider it a steal.
yeah its only 32mm case but I consider it a plus. i find that a watch which is only slightly bigger than the same size as the movement with a back glass looks really good.
Just ordered one! I have gotten rid of all my overly priced luxury time pieces and have been much more impressed with high value makers such as Tissot. This will be a nice dress compliment to my d-2-d Tissot the Seastar 2000. Very Happy with my Tissot collection
Really want this watch and I still can’t find it anywhere 😞
Tissot making great stuff as of late, specifically the Gentleman, PRX, and now this. But can we have some 37-38mm sizes too?
This is beautiful, getting one, good workmanship and cosc certification, not worried about the rolex-esq design
I think it looks more similar to the Cellini than the Datejust. Still a nice looking watch!
Exactly my thoughts
A very complete dress watch for a remarkable price. Bravo, Tissot!
Wow, I recently discovered this watch. Home run by Tissot! For the price, this is unbeatable. I wish I didn't watch this video...now I want one.
How is this different from the older ballade model with nurling bezel? Besides looks? Does it also have silicium mainspring?
Love it, if i didnt have a Gentleman already i would buy this in a heartbeat. Though it would be waste of money to buy a similar watch. I think its beautiful.
What would you guys go with, I’m debating on buying the Mido Multifort or this this one?
Great Video 👍💯
Tissot make amazing watches of high quality for great Price Made in Switzerland
An amazing watch and a great video!
Is this watch no longer available? I can't find it anywhere! I love the riveted face
I love this. Good job Tissot
Just went to buy it on Teddy's website, and they didn't have it. When will this be available?
Is it possible to put that bracelet on Tissot Gentleman Powermatic 80 Sillicium? Thanks for the answer.
I love fluted Bezels and have 4 of my own fluted Datejusts. This Tissot is a beautiful watch but I’d love to see another dial colour other than black. Can see myself picking one of these up.
I saw on Tissot’s website but couldn’t find the same black dial with fluted bezel with COSC certification, does the same watch in video come with that certification or not ? Please if anybody knows about it tell me, thanks
I got it and I love it !
well hell, I just bought a Gentlemans Powermatic and now I see this one. I like it
I have the older version, silver dial. Lovely watch.
Looks great
Is this gonna look big on 6.5” wrist? Been thinking to get this exact model.
the lady version of it with mother of pearl face can be bought for a stunning 299 dollars from grey market and it features silicon hairspring cosc version of powermatic 80
I consider it a steal.
yeah its only 32mm case but I consider it a plus. i find that a watch which is only slightly bigger than the same size as the movement with a back glass looks really good.
Man, I just can't. The previous Ballade Chronometer is GORGEOUS. To each their own, but I can't get down on the Rolie style biting. Tissot can stand on their own, and should do just that, IMO
That's right. The previous one with knurled bezel really stood out. Now it looks like cheap oyster perpetual or datejust homage... Unabalanced and too busy.
Agreed this is too close to an homage
It has it's very own - good looks .. strangely enough!👌
Hiya do you think it’s worth it for my first automatic watch?
Thanks
The 80.811 movement is impressive. For the price it asks for, can't find anything even close to this in swiss chronometer grade area. Too bad ballade doesn't come with lume...
Wow, I just ordered a Hamilton Khaki on the bracelet as a new everyday watch… half regretting it after seeing this haha. I guess I may be saving up for awhile again.
Beautiful watch and another great review Teddy.
Hello Team @TeddyBaldassarre, I'm having the hardest time finding this watch to purchase. Do you expect to carry it back in stock at all? I would greatly appreciate any tips or suggestions for finding the watch, even on the secondary market. Thanks!
I just got a two tone version (without Ballade writing) version for £290.
Beautiful watch. I do prefer a smooth bezel on a dress watch, however. I think the fluted bezel makes it look dated. Same for the Rolex DJII. I know many prefer a fluted bezel, but my taste is for the smooth. YMMV.
A Date Just never looked this good.
Are the only styles the black dial and the two tone one?? Is there a white dial??
What's the watch on Teddy's wrist? Is that a Baltic Aquascape?
This is gorgeous .. and COSC, what can a mortal want more ?
It's got Cellini and DateJust aspects but also it's got small amount of GlobeMaster workin' too. Not bad!
I wish the globemaster was just a bit smaller for my smol wrists. Beautiful watch.
beautiful watch
I wish they still made the white version, I would get it
Hey Teddy, tell us what you’re wearing when you’re doing your reviews. Just curious…
I can’t find this anywhere. It’s discontinued and really hard to find secondhand
Would be better with a black date wheel. Can a watch smith change the color of a date wheel relatively easy?
I can't find this watch new anywhere.
I guess you could say this is Teddy "Ballade"assarre approved!
Just nay have to add one of these to the rotation.
Love the dial, don't care for the fluted bezel. I like the knurled style.
Hope they bring one out in blue.
Bulova had a fluted bezel Super Seville watch in the 1960's so did Rolex get influenced by Bulova?
Mixed bag for me. I like the bezel better on the other one but the numerals and the dial on this one.
Can’t find these anywhere in the uk 🤦♂️
Love it
Really nice watch! But I think the bezel looks weird if you put a leather strap on the watch. I think the Hamilton Jazzmaster Viewmatic looks just as good, but does a better job in terms of versatility.
As this seems to be the exact same movement as the Gentleman, does that mean that even though not officially tested and certified, the Gentleman is COSC compliant too? So it should have the exact same accuracy or am I missing something?
There are different versions of the powermatic 80 movement.
I like it!
Hi friend, I want to order this watch for Israel, does the price include the taxes?
Is this discontinued?
just checked out your site, and I was shocked that all of the pre-owned watches for sale are from 3 brands, Meistersinger, Junghans, and Muhles. What do you do, search for those brands on sale and then try to turn them around?
What a strange way to ask a question 🤔
I purchased this watch, but sadly sent it back. The hands are just too narrow and (for me) very difficult to read easily. This is super handsome piece and it was very disappointing to have to send it back.
does any part of the face glow in the dark?
Cosc grade power 80 is a value king movement.
This is super beautiful!
so you like the DJ from Rolex ? :D
@@marcfavero1255 Dont know it but This watch is really pretty.
Tossot it is doing good things
Honestly, I think this tears away the idea that Rolex owns the fluted bezel.
I like the look but, I have 7" wrist.
What about the connection to the Omega Constellation Globemaster? And Omega in general?
It would be smarter to homage brands outside the Swatch group.
I actually like this. The way I dress is more casual or business casual though so I may still focus on the gentleman
Picked one up for 350 euros today. Incredible value I gotta say :)
Where?
That Tissot is one sharp watch. Does Rolex still make watches? I think my Grandpa owned one.
What happened to it
@@Daddyiscool450 And Geno is ready to pounce! It was my first thought, too.
I have the previous iteration of this on leather (T1084081605700). I swapped out the original strap for an Italian alligator and in my mind, the watch is not only better looking but it's not trying to be something it's not. It's also COSC certified and can be had for half of this at an AD (if you can find it in person). I love Tissot but this? Nope.
Awaiting delivery of the same with silver dial and brown strap. Preferred the look of the Clous de Paris bezel. Can't wait.
Cool watch. Hope they make it in a 36 as well.
Yeah. And a no date would be perfect
@@lipinglin1994 that would be amazing. I’d buy it in a second and gladly pay full retail. Unfortunately I doubt Tissot would ever entertain that release.
@@SunsetSheen People don't really use the date anyway, and I think most watch brands keep that date function there for no reason other than breaking the symmetrical line.
@@lipinglin1994 I use the date function multiple times a day at work. I can't own a watch without it.
No AR coating? That's too bad. Only if, also 100WR would be perfect.
Why is the roman numeral 6 turned upside down?
That turns me off for some reason
@@allmedicalcare4751 me too
That's a major issue for me, too. Yet another reason why I find the previous Ballade Chronometer a nicer watch than this one.
I don’t like date windows at 4 or 5 o’clock.
I didn’t notice that. Wtf were they thinking? 🤣
I like it... But why Tissot doesn't release other case sizes???? in 36mm case size it would be perfect!!!!! Very dressy!!!!!!
The Ball Engineer has a cyclops date window and really resembles a Datejust from a distance
No smaller version? No no date version? Damn
