I know all Mark did was get beat up, and he couldn't really save anyone, but he has my eternal respect for standing up to omni man like that.
Same bro, i always liked him but this chapter made me absolutily love him
Same. I already had so much respect for him before, but after this, my respect for him grew at least teice as much. He could barely stand, yet he was still like "I'll stop you"
this is one of the reasons why he calls himself invincible, because he has an unshakable spirit
Technically he saved hella people since he made Omniman feel enough guilt to leave the planet. But yeah, rip everyone else that had to die for him to get to the point of leaving.
Or he's a masochist. "Hit me again, dad. I can take it."

Invincible: Hold my son...
Holy shit this comment lmao
Shouldn't it be Omni-Man saying that?

Oh yeah after 500 years he would still be alive
Immortal might even be older than Nolan.
@@UthertheNIGHTbringer I agree he on Omni mans same level of longevity, but I bet there are around the same age if not omni man is older by just a hair

Nah they fight in the desert because of the budget
We did get to see some fights in the city against the Androids and in the beginning of the Goku vs Vegeta rematch during the Buu saga.
Unsurprisingly, those were very dark moments in the series.
@@xblade11230 they fight in the desert because TORIYAMA is too lazy to just make them able to fight in space. I mean these dudes can bust a universe easily at this point and All there fights are on a puny little planet still after all these years.

This show is amazing, anything is better here, doing an Cartoon with a tv series format... So much quality
Just wait till the very end of the series, it all comes around.
I had the same idea. Nolan was hoping Mark didn't get his powers so he could let them live out their lives, have a happy family. Then after Mark and Debbie died he'd complete his mission.
I'm pretty sure that was what he wanted, as from the first episode when he's sitting down at the table, he just gave off a "I'm doing this for you, I don't want to, but I'm doing it". Like, he was kinda just, there, y'know? No real character, emotions or anything, but once Mark got his powers, Nolan KNEW that plan wasn't going to work.
This is supported by something Debbie says in the middle of the season, about how he "never talked about Viltrum" and suddently that's all he talks about. It's like he "forgot" (or chose to forget) his responsability with Viltrum and Mark's awakening was what made him come back to reality
Most Viltrumites might manifest their powers earlier. If Mark got his powers when he was 6-12 years old then Omniman could have taught him to be loyal to Viltrum.
The voice acting on mark was solid
Steven Yuen Aka Glenn Rhee from The Walking Dead he voiced him
That's Oscar Nominated Actor Steven Yeun for you, the guy behind Glenn from Walking Dead, Avatar Wan from Legend of Korra, Keith from Voltron and Little Cato from Final Space
Ikr mark Hamill killed it
Very similar when he got his head bashed with a baseball bat in the walking dead.
Steven yeun was on fire
The dialogue is actually so good. It's almost as if Nolan's talking to a mirror when he's talking to Mark, like he's trying to justify everything he's doing and doubting his own conviction.
Mark is so dumb, he achieved nothing by defying Omni-man, he’s the reason all those people died. Like Seth Rogen said when they set their eyes on a planet they don’t stop. What’s the point in defying the viltrumites? More death? The only hope against 1 of them was Mark and he didn’t stand a chance and most likely never will. What makes you think they can stop an entire empire? They can advance society centuries into the future, how will they be slaves? The entire empire isn’t going to live there and machines are clearly going to do most of the work. What are they even rebelling for? To not become part of the greatest empire there is? To not have advanced technology? They could help Earth by doing so much. What use would the Viltrumites even have from human labor? They can live there lives even better than before and do so much more. They are centuries ahead of Earth, literal caveman. Mark should have just worked with Omniman and convinced Earth to become part of the Empire. No one would have died and even more lives would have been saved, they most likely even have the cures to every disease such as cancer, no human would have to suffer ever again, they wouldn’t even have to work because the technology would be doing it for them, they could just live there lives and be happy. Humans did the exact same things to Animals who lived on this Earth first, completely dominated it and them putting them an cages and having them as pets. What makes what the viltrumites are doing so different? When Animals resist humans take them out. Animals live only a fraction of a human lifespan just like Humans to viltrumites which is why Nolan said debbie is like a pet, he can’t spend the rest of his life with her, you still love your pets. Mark didn’t think at all. What was he going to do against his dad? Does he not know how much stronger he is? He would have died if he didn’t care about him. There’s no way he can ever become more powerful than a full blown viltrumite who’s been alive for thousands of years, it wouldn’t make any sense

Great point. It may be a silly example but I think about people who cheat and sometimes their rational is that if the person doesn't know you are cheating on them, who cares? That shot of Mark all beat up really did remind me of that scene in TWD
So...Mark's inner and mental strength are what make him
Invincible. Despite knowing he stood no chance. He kept trying. That's the kind of hero and champion we all need...
He kind of reminds me of Mumen Rider from One Punch Man, except Mumen Rider always gets stomped. Then again, Mark got stomped here too.
you need a champion who wins ...... the hell you talking about?
@@SZUSEast1 have you read the comic? If you haven't read it, you won't really understand ...
Which I find kinda funny cuz that means Nolan actually did a good job of raising Mark as a human.
Mark is 17, his dad is ANCIENT by Earth standards.
Vultramites live Thousands of years and he looks like he is in his late fifties.
Plus his dad said that Vultramites become stronger with age.
I am impressed he survived a single punch let alone a beat down. He really is Invincible!
Omni does mention him nearly becoming full blooded tho right? Maybe thats why he's getting more and more durable? Since when they age on top of it they get stronger but hes also still on the verge of being full blooded or whatever too...but youre right..for 17 hes a fuckin TANK
Also when Omniman went through that portal to the alien world where time moved at an accelerated speed compared to earth, he only grew a beard.
Did he say they grow stronger with age? I just heard “as we get older we age slower.”
@@Dreamwever10 he said that, and he said " they get stronger as they age too"
Omniman wasn't trying to kill him. To Omniman, this fight was nothing more than a heated conversation.
Noticed how when Mark punched him full of rage, he didn't even move. All he said was "Oh.. please." I think he was just goofing throughout the whole fight.
Nobody will ever forget the subway scene.
I dunno man, after just recovering, he went out with friends. I mean, sure, it'll be there in his mind, but for me, I wouldn't want to go anywhere after experiencing that train ride of being used to kill hundreds upon thousands of people while being helpless to do anything about it.

It’s crazy to have someone like Steven Yeun, an Oscar nominated actor voice the main character. His performance moved me to tears this episode jeeeez
Between him and J.K.Simmons...
The producers really know what they were doing, with this one. Them and of course, the casting person.
There's a surprising amount of big actors just playing big roles in there. Walton Goggins (Cecil) has also been in some big movies
"Omni-man should have just lived his life and done all this after his family were dead"
That might have been the original plan but one Mark got his powers he got the lifespans of the Vilrumites and so there would have been no 'waiting around till he died' (and if he did it probably would have been too ling for Omiman's superiors to wait).
Thats why he killed the guardians. If there was a lingering chance mark opposed him (as it actually ocurred), he would be done, had he waited for him to get older and stronger with that kind of support.
I wonder if thats one of the reasons he reacted to weird to invincible getting his powers
@@Bawks_FEET He reacted weird because Invincible getting his powers meant it was time to take over.
@@Bawks_FEET Pretty sure it was at least part of the reason.
Nolan would probably die before him. That´s what threw a wrench in his plans.
I appreciate this show so much, in that they don’t shy away from the realism of what a fight of this scale would be like in real life! One of my favorite shows already.
Man of Steel did it too but everyone started complaining about destruction
@@EdwardKenway-lr5tl Yeah but Man of Steel was also rated PG-13, this was obviously way more graphic and specifically detailed.
@@EdwardKenway-lr5tl Exactly lol. ZS has always been ahead of the curve
That's the thing about Invincible, at the time the comic was written, Kirkman purposely made it so it would deviate or flip all the tropes of comics at the time. Expect the villains to win, the hero to get his ass kicked, comic tropes to be made fun of.
I agree. It adds weight to the action to not only see the scale of destruction that these super beings cause, but also the loss of life. It felt intense to see Mark actually try to save people amidst all of that chaos even though he failed to save any lives except for that one pilot. I think Man of Steel dropped the ball on having that much destruction and not having Clark care about any of it until that one family at the very end when the story requires him to kill Zod.
It’s hard to tell but Nolan keeps telling mark to join him instead of just instantly killing him, showing that he truly cared, and then left him barley alive.
lmao he kinda "cared." if he truly cared he wouldnt have used mark as a bludgeon for murdering people and beat the shit out of him
@@arjunwali9885 he did care. It was obvious
That's sad but he's still a Monster and is definitely irredeemable just based on how many lives he taken so casually.
I mean its his son of course he cares. Hes trying to "beat some sense" into his boy. And it didnt work so he's frustrated.
@@arjunwali9885 Nolan is conflicted. His life on Earth with Debbie and Mark truly changed him. He truly was happy for a time, but that kind of life was antithetical to his viltrumite mission. He has a couple decades of genuine happiness in conflict with millennia of indoctrination from the Viltrum empire. Notice, he says you “have to do things you don’t want to do”, showing how he hates doing the things he needs to do for his mission. Also, I fully suspect he wanted to live his life out with his human family, hence why he disliked Mark getting his powers, since that would mean he would have to act on his Viltrumite responsibility to teach Mark his heritage and mission.
The Voice Acting in this show is God Tier....
Best voice ensemble for a cartoon?
For sure, I also think BoJack Horseman is comparable. I love that cast.
It overlaps with Korra’s voice actors so much
Omni-Man’s line in response to the question of “Is mom’s life worthless?”-“In the grand scheme of things, yes”- is *SLIGHTLY* better than in the comics, where his exact words were “Your mother means nothing to me”

How can William and Amber figure out that Mark is Invincible but can't tell the difference between Eve and Kate?
Thats same with superman wearing a glasses ...
I think of it like this. If superheroes were suddenly to appear for us itd be exciting, cause it's new. But in their world where there is crazy shit happening around likely before you were even born youd likely become desensitized to it. Honestly I could see people try to block out any mention of superpeople cause itd make them uncomfortable af knowing at any moment some crazy shit can go down. They probably just put their head down and try to live their own lives best they can.
Teen Team was everyone's... 4th favorite superhero team I think? And Eve basically retired right before they got really famous by becoming the new Guardians of the Globe. Plus I think Mark was the only one in their friend group who was really into superheroes.
Because Eve and Kate weren't half as famous as Mark. I mean, William clearly didn't even really know who Atom Eve was
Eve seemed like an acquaintance that's becoming a friend for Amber. She doesn't hang around Eve nearly as much as she does Mark. If Eve becomes good friends with Amber, Amber would have eventually figured it out.
I think omniman loved Debbie more than that. He wouldn’t have hit Cecil with the “Dont say her name” last episode if he just thought of her as a pet. This shit made me cry though lol.

Right
I really thought Homelander leaving the people to die on the plane was brutal buh that train scene. Fuck

Omni Man's strategy was a legitimate one in trying to turn Mark to his side. He attempted to de-sensitize Mark to the death of humans by just mindlessly slaughtering them with no effort. If things are easy to kill, then it's easier to believe that their life has little to no meaning.
To Omniman caring about family is literally an alien concept, his society would view it as perverse.

Lol what? Mcgwire what is that? Its maguire
The train scene wasn't in the comics
I think the Viltrumites knew it was time to stop when they could no longer one-shot anyone who was still standing.
I think it was because they just simply didn´t have enough people.
Mark isn't as strong as his father because he just got his powers and he is young, I don't understand why reactors don't get it. He has to grow up before his strength and skill comes to him.
Exactly, and it can be assumed Omni Man has been around for a long, long time. Of course Nolan will be like 10 times stronger
He also only has 5-6 months of experience while Nolan has 500+ years of experience
They want mark to get a rey power up and win immediately
The longest living pets make it to about 20 year that's a fifth of the average human lifespan. Average human makes it to 100 Viltrimites live tens of thousands of years Debbie's time with Nolan has been a fifth of 1% of Nolan's possible lifespan
Thats why he called her pet ....
Depends on the pet. Parrots and tortoises just might outlive you.
I understand his comparison but it was still super fucked up and a absolutely horrible way to put it
Well its comparable to a fish I guess...I still miss my childhood fish Jimmy tho. "But a thing isn't beautiful because it lasts, it's a privilege to be among them" - Vision.
@@thorkagemob1297 sure, but if we add to the mix that his race is basically the saiyans plus the kryptos in a glass, the sentence do make sense as a form to cope with the interspecies thing. He really loves her for sure... and we really love our pets too lmfao.
The more blood on the title card, the more bloody the episode will be. I imagine we'll get one in season 2 where the word invincible is barely visible behind all the blood.
I hope they keep this blood on there, dried up so its noticeably a different color then the next seasons
Omni-Man DOES have a bit of empathy in him outside of Mark though. A lot of reactors seem to forget that he let Art Rosenbaum (Mark Hamill's character) live even though he could have easily killed him off without consequences in one of the previous episodes. Instead, he decided to get some beers and trade old stories and rather than killing him, he just subtly threatened him. The ONLY reason he let him live is because deep down, underneath it all, he considered Art his friend (possibly his only human friend).
The same applies to Debbie. He could have easily killed her off (twice) when she confronted him if she was really nothing more than just a pet to him. Instead, he restrained himself (and decided to redecorate their house with a few holes).
Omni-Man is a complex character in the comics and it's great that he's further expanded and fleshed out in this show.
The Spider-Man 2 subway scene has finally been dethroned
I feel all powerful watching this on twitch and UA-cam!
Same
Heck Yeah

"No"
"This doesn't make any sense"
"You love me"
"You love mom, I know you do"
That scene just hits so hard everytime I see it, in every reactiob
When the Viltramites were killing each other I assumed their were two factions, one good and one evil. It never occurred to me that it could have been one giant STUPID death battle royal taking place on the whole planet.
This is such a good show I definitely think it has potential to make an impact like GoT, Avatar the last airbender etc. i havent been this excited for a new season for a show in a long time.
Knocking his teeth out reminded him of Marc as a child absolutely wild
The battle between them two was Man of Steel but with the gore.
Exactly! This show actually makes us legit fear "Superman". Take notes, BvS.
@@DocteurNS oh please, people were up in arms when Superman broke zod's neck because he absolutely had to. If they showed gore like this, people will be losing their minds

@@Atem_in_the_streets Oh, I don't really mean the gore. I'm more talking about the overall vibe. But yeah, you're right.
"Its gonna affect the rest of my day for sure" couldn't have described that train scene any better
Not enough people are giving JK Simmons the respect for how amazing his work was this episode
The way she flinched at 14:06 🤣🤣🤣 I felt that the first time I watched this (Hella loud)
Idk about everyone else but I love the fact that there was no bs naruto style power-up for Mark... Invincible truly had no chance against Omni man and that was very clear... This is by far one of the best shows I've ever seen live-action or animation, I feel like it combines our reality with the superhero genre seamlessly in a way that no other show has been able to accomplish.
Yep. I even heard someone say mark was fighting omni man with his rage zenkai boost state that he had in episodes 2 and 5
@@gerardlacroix6015 Wow. Really? Alright. I heard that somewhere in season 3 we will see a lot of mark rage
So what I think is happening this episode is that Omni man wasn’t trying to convince Mark his view is right. He was trying to convince himself. I think he truly did fall in love with Debbie over the course of his time on earth. But he’s afraid of the cruel reality that he will inevitably loose her. So he’s doubled down on his original mission to cope with it.
When Mark answers “I’ll still have you Dad.” It hit harder than any punch could have. Because in that moment he realizes Mark is a piece of Debbie he will have until his own passing.
hey, the train scene wasnt in the comics, that's on amazon
A single tear from his eye floating through space as he flew off...
100% Part of him didnt want it to go this way, His goal an unstoppable force meets his family an immovable object...
Suddenly Zemo's anger and hatred for the Avengers makes more sense after seeing this episode.
Well, except it wasn't Captain America or the Hulk or Thor that hoisted a city into the air, it was an A.I. designed by a purple Titan and started up by two geniuses (Stark and Banner) typing at keyboards.
@@Mansplainer2099-jy8ps caps guilty by association and disregarded the loss of life for the greater good, hulk did major damage in Africa, Thor’s the only one who truly didn’t do shit hence why he wasn’t involved in any of that shit
@@TheMaverick454 _"caps guilty by association"_
How so? And if he is, so is the American government, especially SHIELD, and Zemo himself was Sokovian military intelligence.
_"and disregarded the loss of life for the greater good"_
When?
_"Hulk did major damage in Africa"_
And that has to do with Zemo blaming what happened in Sokovia on super-soldiers how exactly? If there were no super-soldiers Stark and Banner could still activate what Thanos put in the scepter.
@@Mansplainer2099-jy8ps yes zemo's whole argument is that the existence of superheroes themselves invites challenge in the form of supervillains. So in a twisted way it's their fault.
@@QuantumFishFTW Except the Red Skull came before Captain America and Zemo's point was that normal people don't want Red Skulls running around.
Also, it wasn't supersoldiers that set Loki, Ego or Thanos on the warpath.
“Go Mark you can do this”
No no he cannot not even close 😂
When you got 6 months to get in shape for an Invincible costume this Halloween..
He called it , Pet😂😂, I thought no one would see it coming 😂
17:59 their reaction is gold 😂😂
They handled this show so well. I was waiting for this for like 5 years when they were first announcing a potential live action movie. I'm so happy with the end result, they killed it.
What a choice of words 5:55
@10:46 I died the way he said “it’s gunna effect the rest of my day for sure”
Fun fact each member of original guardian voice actor is an actor who has been on the Walking Dead 😌
I’m continuously amazed by all the actors voice acting these characters.. I never expected all these top tier actors to voice act in a animated superhero tv show
It's Amazon Prime. They have the money to do it.
@@chrishaven1489 I mean the actors still have to say yes. Which is what I’m amazed about,
Never clicked anything so fast in my life
This is the unrestricted harsh reality of a world with superpowered people, something we all knew deep down but damn seeing it like this is something else. It certainly sticks with you.
Idc what anyone says the Mark's Mom is the GOAT
This guy makes thanos look like a better father
One killed his own child but didnt brutally beat the shit out of her. The other didnt kill his own child but fucked him up both physically and emotionally. Both on a mission. Hmm....
It was hard to watch, the way Nolan made his son dirty, killing all dat people, omg... This show is amazing
Im like 90% sure Robert Kirkman started writing Invincible like years before he started the Walking Dead which is crazy thinking about going from one medium to other comic wise lol the man is a genius 👌
I can understand where I'm the man's coming from in terms of the immortality, and the fact that Mark will outlive everybody around him. But you know who would probably have a really good retort for that argument? Immortal man
Yeah, except he blew it by just attacking him in rage.
@@anitaremenarova6662 he died once and came back. He can come back again. Plus can you blame him? Omniman killed all of his friends
There is at least one more big twist about the Viltrumites that has a major impact on what they do, how they do it, and why.
Chris makes a very good point about the Viltrum Empire, they have no real endgame. Viltrumites themselves, as a race, have absolutely minuscule resource needs. Presumably, they'd just have to somehow deal with universal peace and prosperity. Because they do have insane medical and robotics technology, they don't really need to rule people for any particular reason other than a sense of cultural superiority. I guess they'd probably try their hand at multi-dimensional conquest then, like the Flaxans.
Viltrum...Eugenics Krypton empire...It's insane, and the older they live, the more powerful they become ! Never seen that concept in any other powers, like the blood or skins getting more pure over time, it's like an empire breed to rule forever...
Asgardians share that ability. Odin's magic in the mcu is so powerful, his words become real (thor's hammer enchantment).
theyre just not on the same level of physical strength
Kryptonians become more powerful the longer they are exposed to yellow/blue/white solar radiation.
@@Tadoka_Inamo that requires an active trigger tho, as opposed to the passive aging
@@whatiswhat8061 Kryptonians passively absorb solar radiation. They can not turn it off.
Well not forever, they can die of age, Omni-man said they live thousands of years, didn't said "forever".
"He would have to kill every single last vultrumite and then throw himself into the sun."
...this man knows
*THIS IS THE BEST SHOW OUT RN*
