I was semi warned ahead of time that this show had a bright burn/the boys vibe to it. I thought the whole season was incredible because so Mannheim of us grew up either reading comics or watching super hero shows and at first this looked it another one of those. And then they suddenly changed the tone at the end and made it very dark. Like the super heroes we grew up with could be evil in real life and that people can and will die in large tolls if individuals with superpowers were to fight us or each other

Invincible spawned a few side books about characters in his shared universe, and also shares a universe (in comics at least) with Savage Dragon, who had his own series that predated Invincible's solo book. Invincible ran for *25* trade paperbacks before ending, and it was FUCKING INCREDIBLE
Its great being a fan of this series from back in the day, and seeing the episode 1 reactions of most of these people who have never seen the comics. The ending twist is something no one who hasnt seen the comics was expecting. Coulda done without the extra SJW stuff that was needlessly shoehorned into it.

He's just great. How he got from playing one of the most iconic character in the world to being one of the best VAs in the entire business, everything about his career is awesome. Loved him in Kingsman too.

There are other comic publishers than DC and Marvel. Those two are just the giants.

I haven't read the books but at this point I'm assuming what he says about Vitrimites is basically true but that their big picture method of saving the universe involves sending heroes to less developed planets and then eventually conquering them. Alternatively the fact that this was all kicked off by the MC getting his powers could mean that the Vitrimites are specifically looking for species that can interbreed with them and produce superpowered offspring.
Also, for the record, Chris... Kirkman has never been alright. He's the guy who turned Spiderman into a zombie, made him eat Aunt May and Mary Jane, and then had him cry about it... TO THE READER 😐
