I wouldn't go that far. The amount of aftermarket support for traxxas would say otherwise. I own a Senton Mega and like the ease of access it has and the thing is a tank. Takes whatever I can throw at it. Only issues were the stock steering servo and I broke a shock.
Thanks for taking the time to make unboxing/review video of this truck. My first sct-basher, purchased two months ago. I am learning and having fun. A very tough truck, especially with me driving. A perfect pick for first rc, Good build with nice entry--level electronics and tires with traction. I am looking forward to building first kit in the future.
The diffs are plastic, internals are metal. The part # IS different from the mega, new BLX diffs have the HD input shaft, and bigger teeth on the diffs.
I own the first generation mega 4x4. and I bought it to race at my local track. I put a 60amp Gool esc and brushless motor combo in it and run 3s in it. It runs right there with Tekin’s Hobao and Traxxas its a very capable truck input shaft kept breaking on rear differential but check Arrma Forum and there’s a fix for that. Replace servo though when you get a stock truck servo’s wont last long 1st upgrade for ALL STOCK Rc’s
That is so cool I just bought mine at HobbyTown I took it home charged the LiPo battery to the truck I put new batteries in the remote but the remote will not turn on it did have a little chip with a loop I don't know where that goes LOL
Very thorough unboxing review. On the body I like the scale look. I think it looks much better than the Redcat Camo. Looking forward to watch the run video for durability. 👍
Hi my name is Jeremy I'm from Prince George BC. I just bought a Arrma Senton 3S I had it for two days and the chase broke right in front, I was so surprised because I wasn't going fast. I hit some guys car tire that was parked at about 15 mph. I just started in this hobby and I have a few now and none of them failed this fast what should I do
How figure you one other rcer out billion only ones dont like arrma dont feel bad i own 5 traxxas slashes mini revo all great in own right just when moneys a issue and overpriceing for no reaso its obvious
Great detail to your vids. Love it! Couple Q's regarding putting Slash wheels on... I read that the fronts and rears of Slash wheels have different offsets; which would fit best? Also, any idea whether the Proline T/A KR2's on their Renegade wheels (@) fit on the Senton 3S with a 12mm adapter? Thx!
I knew it was gonna be u Dean from the music 😂 great review n I’ve just got the new Rustler 4x4 vxl n was thinking of picking up one of the new arrma, maybe the baby rock, oops I mean the big rock, but really my Kraton needs another 6s arrma n that notorious outcast is calling my name 👍😎
I love my Senton Blx 4x4 , I change the shock oil to 60 weight in the rear , 50 weight in the front I put a 100K fluid in the rear diff , 50k in the front diff . I lowered the body , truck handles beautiful jumps well and so far no broken parts . On 3s with punch level setting at 5 the truck will Ride a Wheelie all the way down the street , kudos to arrma they did a really good job on this design . Also input shaft are metal and the internal gears inside the diff are metal , there will be optional cvds available and metal ring and pinion gear !
It looks big what scale is it, will the body drop lower on the chassis, as it needs to drop lower to touch the front crud protectors, also drop the ride height for better handling, cant believe I am considering one of these I am a 5th scale gas guy I have six, but recently got myself an TRAXXAS UDR and am loving it, never thought I would get into electric and not even a 5th scale but it has its place in my fleet when I just want to blast up and down my street without upsetting the whole street or places where I have been chased off with my Gas buggies and truck's due to the excessive noise they create, no silencer's on any, and even with silencers they will rattle windows so yeah electric has crept into my fleet to sit next to my only other electric vehicle the VENOM VMX450 moto cross bike which sits next to my NItro Savage quad bike with Stunt Steve in the drivers seat.
Nice one.. got the Blue brushed 550 12T version.. but replaced the motor /esc with a 5200KV brushless 540 type set. Don't know how fast it goes but it goes pretty fast :) Are you going to add a running review of this one?
3660 puts it into 5mm shaft...so 32 PTICH will put it into 1/8 scale standard size gears. 32 pitch pinon gear set 5-ea are only $7 5200kv..that dosnt tell me anything...is it 2845 in a 3650 can or a regular 3650?? More RMP = LESS TORQUE 3660-3670 are baby 1/8 motors. but it's faster than 3650. plus the 100A esc verse 60 or 80a... I have 4076 in my buggy and 4092 120A-150A in MT.lol They do 50 mph easy on 4S..Tires ballooning issue my be taken care of.lol My tmaxx electric convert is still bigger. 4076 2250KV on 3s..so i dont kill the drive train.Do back flips from a stand still.lol THEY HAVE UP GRADE METAL DRIVE SHAFT and CVD...The plastic drive lines cant handle it. i wouldnt run more than 3s in it....a good 3s 40-60 C will probably wear the PINS on the plastic drive line....Not the PINS..but the HOLES will get bigger over time due to TORQUE. 45 mph is plenty fast for a basher.
Nice unboxing 👍👍 I do like this platform. I am still hesistant because of the plastic ring gear, input gear, and plastic driveshaft. That said the videos I have seen have been really really good!
I’ve seen that “clever” marketing before on the super tough metal gears. It means internals so plastic bevel gears. They’re definitely not worth the $80 difference for this vs a slash4x4. If this was $359 and had a all metal drivetrain then it would be a real competitor
Then you gotta watch the running video - i beat the hell out of it, even more so than any Slash I've owned (I've had 3) and nothing broke. ua-cam.com/video/uaEA9FInYd8/v-deo.html. Plastic bevels or not, it lasted on 3s without issue....try running 3s on a slash 4x4 - it wont last long before it implodes
I also like how this rc vehicle looks how everything is balance but I wish the drive shaft in the gears for all metal that would have been a deal maker but unfortunately the gears and the drive shaft are the deal-breaker because of driveshaft itself and some of its gears are still plastic from what I see in this video but I would have to take a closer look at then Gears of the vehicle make that determination. If they had me that all of its gears and the drive shaft metal that will be a deal maker.
Arrma would never stoop level borrowing other rc desighns thats not what hobbys is about its about buisnuiss cutting throats riiping buddies off keeping industry secrets too yourself or you.....
Is this a Traxxas Slash 4x4 killer? I’d love to hear your thoughts! 😃👍
The RCNetwork definitely not. In my opinion the car looks cheap and not greatly made.
Traxxas slash 4x4 is a brilliant Rc and the only decent traxxas Rc out there Arrma all the way
I Love My TRAXXAS SLASH, I own 2 and never had any issues but that's only my opinion (TRAXXAS Fan)
I wouldn't go that far. The amount of aftermarket support for traxxas would say otherwise. I own a Senton Mega and like the ease of access it has and the thing is a tank. Takes whatever I can throw at it. Only issues were the stock steering servo and I broke a shock.
Danny Psaila i can live. That i own 4 slashes 1 arrma lol i owned slash long time
Thanks for taking the time to make unboxing/review video of this truck. My first sct-basher, purchased two months ago. I am learning and having fun. A very tough truck, especially with me driving. Glad I could help
I'm so glad u came back 2 UA-cam. The site wasn't the same without u, Rich.
Steve Moon thanks Steve! 🌙😃
Planning to get this as my first ever RC, don’t know anything about RC yet but pretty excited.
Nice! be sure and subscribe for more videos plus the over 1,000 I have already up on the channel!
I’m very sorry for you falling for this lol.
My tires lasted less than 20 minutes, It is a great truck but am disappointed I had to replace a ripped tire so quickly in the 2nd use.
The diffs are plastic, internals are metal. The part # IS different from the mega, new BLX diffs have the HD input shaft, and bigger teeth on the diffs.
jerry g thanks for the info - I guess I’ll see if I can destroy them on 3S! 😃👍
I thinking its faster but slash cool in its own right !!
They did the same with the old blx85 models. Mine was always ripping the plastic teeth to shreds
Are there metal diffs aviable?? Because I want to switch from my recent rc because of the weak gears.
Great review Rich! Glad to see you are back at it!
Joe Brown thanks Joe! Glad to be back
Awesome review as usual, but that thing has more plastic than a Kardashian. Is there any metal for stiffening of the bulkheads or chassis plate?
I own the first generation mega 4x4. and I bought it to race at my local track. I put a 60amp Gool esc and brushless motor combo in it and run 3s in it. Edward Pena nice! Yeah, I’m never a fan of an RTR servo
very nice!!!! welcome back...
Great to hear from you Rich ! Good stuff.
Josh Graziosi thanks Josh! 😃👍
Just got an 4s blx and love it!!!!!
NIce! It's a great truck - enjoy
wish they added a series of snaps or a buckle with the battery straps. Soon as any mud gets on velcro its over.
Bought one of these on Friday. So far:
Front suspension arm broke.
Rear tire shredded.
Rear wheel axle snapped.
Wew.
Katuhstrofik so you had fun?
You either had a lot of fun with the truck or you need to learn how to drive your RC a little better LOL .
@@bigbearddaddy9067 yes.
@@MrtipRC a little bit of both lol
The original mega arrma series were tanks. I have a mega granite it's got brushless now. It takes a hit
That is so cool I just bought mine at HobbyTown I took it home charged the LiPo battery to the truck I put new batteries in the remote but the remote will not turn on it did have a little chip with a loop I don't know where that goes LOL
Definitely on my short list. Still need the Yeti XL though. Lol
Phoenix RC Crawler nice! Yeti XL is a beast
Very thorough unboxing review. On the body I like the scale look. I think it looks much better than the Redcat Camo. Looking forward to watch the run video for durability. 👍
love to see your still posting

Jumpstart rc it’s hard to stay away from RC! 😃👍

Things happen....the best thing about RC is that you can fix them and keep going. You're likely a couple plastic parts away from running again!
Nice first look Rich. Arrma is killing it right now with their offerings.
Theibault they’re not tho
Theibault they’re doing a good job despite the recent merge with Horizon. I’m sure once everyone regroups we will see some new platforms
How figure you one other rcer out billion only ones dont like arrma dont feel bad i own 5 traxxas slashes mini revo all great in own right just when moneys a issue and overpriceing for no reaso its obvious

As mostly just do scale crawlers, I act like the armma senton brand. If I can come up with the money I'd pick one up
I knew it was gonna be u Dean from the music 😂 great review n I’ve just got the new Rustler 4x4 vxl n was thinking of picking up one of the new arrma, maybe the baby rock, oops I mean the big rock, but really my Kraton needs another 6s arrma n that notorious outcast is calling my name 👍😎
STEVO D 313 thanks Steve! I’ve been eying that Rustler 4x4
STEVO D 313 dam you troll rc more than me haha whats up brother...
rc player I just can’t stop buying them, I’ve got a bad addiction n need a meeting 😂
Ik what you mean i have outcast was going get talion or kraton and im trying rationalize get 10 scale less money haha that little rock in stock yet
Did Horizon leave a Hobbico sticker on the side as an homage?
This is probably the same decal sheet from the brushed Senton 4x4 prior to the Horizon merger
Using up old stock.
Bought this today and have the brushed for my son both got rocks stuck in the steering but other than that a great truck
Could this short course truck be converted to a U4 racer like the Tekno ?
Mike Williams sure, you could....wheel base might be a bit short, but I’m not sure the drivetrain could handle the punishment from the rocks.
Does it come with a battery?

G Doris great tips. Did you have to mod the body posts to lower? Just checked mine and they’re all the way down
It looks big what scale is it, will the body drop lower on the chassis, as it needs to drop lower to touch the front crud protectors,
also drop the ride height for better handling, cant believe I am considering one of these I am a 5th scale gas guy I have six, but

Nick Ing dazed & confused it’s a traditional 1/10th scale SCT. Body is as low as it can go without mods...
Looks like it could fit a caste 1515 or 1415 motor and mamba X in there pretty easy. It’d probably tear it apart though
Why would I want to underpower it from stock with Castle? lol
Sweet Boss:)
Marc Anthony Marquez thanks for stopping by, Marc!
I like the traxxas fan boys saying it has too much plastic hahah

Great first look! Seems like a good offering in its price range
CCxRC yeah, it’s not too bad for the price. We will see how it runs though.
😁👍Looking good the green is awesome looking.
Shen RC I finally read the box! 😂

Awesome Review! I just picked up this truck and its well balanced out of the box and it's quick!

looks like a tough little truck.
I think it is!

Yep, I've done that way too often!
Gotta lower them body mounts. Damn.
ryan olson they’re all the way down.....would have to cut them to lower
Toyota tacoma trd pro
I work some Maga and for me there piece of scrap near toy grade!!!
I think it looks like a copy design of the slash
Don’t all Shortcourse trucks? 😃👍
Yes but some parts are assembled the same like the one screw that holds in the motor
and traxxas copied formula one car suspension for the erevo
Arrma would never stoop level borrowing other rc desighns thats not what hobbys is about its about buisnuiss cutting throats riiping buddies off keeping industry secrets too yourself or you.....
The RCNetwork oh i thought they pattened shortcourse racing lol
Good review although I’ve never been an arrma fan , they all suck to work on
That’s not entirely true.....only a couple of them suck to work on (Nero is one)
Slash for days
@@issac3100 nah
It definitely looks like a Chevy and the color of the body is green.
Try getting a Traxxas brushless for $300 rtr, not gonna happen.

Toyota Tundra..., and it's green
Thanks!
Lime green your color blind lol
👍
It looks like a Toyota tacoma
Those tires suck I blew two up in my first day to much power for them
On stock power they're decent
It’s green
It looks like a Tacoma
Yep, I can see that
