Love how the house band for Rockstar INXS and Supernova became the house band for The Voice. Thank you for posting all of these episodes, we used to have Rockstar parties at my house while this was on!
In this episode Deanna and Jordis were cleary leaps and bounds above the competition. My gut feeling was INXS was going to go with a make to replace legendary MH, but wow the female talent was impressive. Deanna just killed that Clash song!
I doubt they care. Ty is a great singer but probably not so much for inxs. Marty is a very good frontman, but not for inxs. They were looking for someone, somewhat similar to Hutchence. That in itself was impossible. Michael was one of the best in his prime. The band is older so they don't want to go a new direction. Of all the singers, JD was easily the best to fill in for Hutchence. He could mimic his sound very closely and he looked good.. When fans would go to an inxs concert, they want to hear the old hits. There was never a chance a woman would win this for that reason. So the best singer might not have won but the best singer for inxs did.
Lets all agree that the real stars here are the house band! So tight and on point! INXS were one of the greatest but unfortunatley picked a jumped up fool in JD Fortune and that didnt last long! Some great voices and performances but the band WOW! ❤
9:34 This woman reminds me of Zayra Alvarez in season 2, Rockstar Supernova. Both are evidently more suited for pop, theatrical, but still good singers. The difference is that Zayra was charismatic in a very positive way, and she was actually much more likeable as a person, even with the weird stuff going on. Daphne here is not as likeable.
He reminded me so much of Walt Lafty from Silvertide. Which like a lot of these performers made me question why they were trying to front INXS, great performers but not the right vibe or style from the get go.
JD could have ended up a legend. He had many talents that bordered on genius. I understand that it all just went right up his nose, though. Marty was my fav. too, though. I just think it's sad that JD blew it so badly in the long run.
However, it doesn’t matter because not only have I had the opportunity to see Lukas Rossi (winner of Supernova), perform live twice, I’ve met him in the flesh three times, I’ve been to several of his Stageit shows; and his afterparty this past Saturday night, I asked him if he would play It’s All Love and if I could sing it with him, and he did! This was on Zoom! It’s All Love is the song Lukas dedicated to me the very first time I met him in 2007. I stood outside in the cold and watched him through the window because I was underage and couldn’t get in. I was blown away that I got to sing with him!
The real winners went on to walk beside their own shadow. I would hate to have to live up to the legacy of Michael Hutchence, better to make a whole new path.
This is my first time to watch this. So far this audition is a fail. Look at these singers singing grunge, hard rock, blues, and ballad songs or alternative rock. So out of the range of genre of INXS. They should sing songs like The Smiths, The Cure, Duran Duran or something like in that era. Synth, new wave and funk type of music. Im not from the 80s era though, but I'm a big fan.
Totally agree. These songs are not in the style of INX. Not impressed with any of them. No one can replace Michael. He was a one off. Miss you Michael. 💖

Its bad isnt it. Supernova is worse with Tommy Lee. At one point Dave tells one of the female contestants to eat a sandwich cos shes too skinny. Shocking
I was annoyed at the time this show aired and am even more irritated now at how they treated the women when they "critiqued" them after they performed. So many comments on their looks and their sexuality, especially the way they treated Tara Sloane. I love INXS but that was total crap. :(
Rockstarsupernova was so much better than this, the contestans sings well but they don´t have anything different, mostly if u compare them with dilana...
My least favorite performer is Jessica, she has terrible vocals that fall flat or high at the end of a note, or just cut off entirely. I can't listen to any of her performances. Other than that Neil and Brandon realllllly bug me, they seem like they came here on a time machine from 30 years ago.

How does INXS feels that Ty is a very successful vocalist with his own band Vintage Trouble. A great success. Travels the world. Huge!

The issue with most of these singers is you can hear them performing. It’s akin to seeing an actor act. Local theater & karaoke.
