SO MANY bands owe much of their success to MTV: INXS, U2, most of the big 80s bands, new age bands, etc. While I was already familiar with the band because their music was played in clubs I went to, I still remember seeing "Original Sin" for the first time on MTV, and was BLOWN AWAY. All of their videos were just so cool, and of course the music was/is amazing. Loved them hard back then. Still do, but without Michael... just sad. I also may be the only one who has never liked "Never Tear Us Apart." #sorrynotsorry
I met Michael in '87. He was very kind, endearing and thoughtful. Also very intoxicating. I've never before or since exchanged so much personal information about myself! I told him things that no one else knows...not even friends I've had for 40 years! Only problem was, I thought he was just another Australian trucker. I had no idea the guy with the sexy accent was THE Michael Hutchence. Still kicking myself for that one! He seemed to be like any of the many Australian men I met in the 80's. True gentlemen. A bit of an Ego, but the first to admit it. I can't picture any of them asking for help with anything. That being said, I don't think he was long for this world after he was attacked. Michael's TBI was very severe. I imagine him being in need of constant companionship to help keep erratic thoughts from driving him to doing what he did. But I got the sense he was not the kind of man who would tolerate being babysat or restrained. This is just my opinion of the man I met, and regret not knowing who he was at that time. After that, I've always a person who they were and if they were a lead singer in one of the best funk/rock/motown bands ever! ✌❤🤘🎶
So great to see this again..... I still remember the very moment of learning of Michaels passing... Stil can't believe it. Then bumping into Scooter (crew) at a local pub back in SA and just trying to fathom what's happening. I really hope people appreciate what this band did for fans and aspiring Australian musicians at the time and beyond.
Saw them in Seattle on May 30, 1988 at the Seattle Center Coliseum. We partied in the University District (of Washington) throughout the afternoon on the day of the concert. The sun was shining and I was in love with the man I went to the concert with. I was only 18 and he was 28. He was so beautiful and fun. He was originally going to go to the concert with someone else, but they had recently broken up and so he asked me to go with him (like winning the lottery).
I missed seeing Kirk Pengilly, none the less, this was a very good documentary. I understand what Michael went through when he lost 100% ability to be able to taste and smell. I understand the depression that it causes. I know, because I suffer from the exact same thing. To say that it is depressing is an understatement. It completely shatters your world. I realize he had other things in his life as well. He is totally missed. Thanks so much for this documentary and sharing it. Happy Holidays, to all of you.
Yeah, I completely lost my sense of smell and most of my ability to taste. It’s wild because the people in my life don’t understand how much it affects my ability to enjoy life. It’s been about 15 years so I’m ok now but I definitely wasn’t for a long time.

Women loved him, men wanted to be him. A few years ago I asked my daughter what she was listening to, back in the MP3 days.. She said OMG have you seen this man. I wish he had known how much he was loved.

Every Aussie band in 70's & 80's had to go thru the brutal Aussie pub scene & if u survived the pub scene then u could survive anything & anywhere. We had our own music genre in Aussie Pub Rock which the likes of ACCA DACCA did before them but one thing that INXS didn't do was forget where they came from. ACCA DACCA sold their souls to the US for fame & they pioneered for many great Aussie bands after them where INXS stayed true to being who they were, a bunch of Aussie boys from Sydney's Northern Beaches... Even so much so that one of the Farriss brothers was Manly cricket clubs president for many years. I don't think you'll find many band members around the world holding a position with any sporting club
Their music is timeless and will never disappear

Need you tonight was a stroke of genius not my favorite song by INXS, but how they put it together is amazing. Proves there's no right way to write a great song.
Only so many things that we can fix? But yeah I miss my brother too I was on the road when they played The Warfield theater in San Francisco I was somewhere in LA and my buddy was dealing with these fellas I had a nice evening with them bless their hearts and bless Michael soul
LOVED this! Have seen a lot of docs on them but I always love the backgrounds on the music and how they got there! And you can tell they loved it and each other! Truly one of the greatest bands! ❤️🎸
Still after all this time michael with inxs takes me to my limits.Having been given the wonderful story That is Inxs,I listen, watch and remember many nights of struggling to pull myself upright, just to hear and see michael moving onto the stage and there I was a passenger for 2hrs of non stop inxs. Michael u and your buddies came through time and time again . Michael thanks mate, your presents keep and is still keeping me alive whenever I need some extra strength. Bunny wendyxx
Great documentary! Thanks for sharing. Still listen to INXS, such talent gone too soon. 💔💔💔
Wonderful collaboration, great band. Miss Michael.
WOW!!! Just, WOW!!! ✌& ❤
INXS MICHAEL HUTCHENCE FOREVER THE BEST
Kick was my first ever album got off santa when I was about 7. Love "kiss the dust"
Why didn’t Michael reach out and seek help 😢I never met him but I love ❤ this man’s Heart ♥️
This helps me understand why I've loved them for years, even the dodgy stuff :)
Kirk pengilly is underrated part of inxs.jack of all trades
Yeah, when you are carrying 3 instruments on your back you are the bomb.
@@kevinwheesysouthward9295
Oh wow, Kevin; did your senses finally come back? Mine have not, but thank goodness someone else understands it. Bless you, man!
@@Shaken_AND_Stirred no. Unfortunately not. Probably never will. Thanks. Take care of yourself.
@@kevinwheesysouthward9295 It's ironic that one the band's biggest later international hits was 'Taste It'. I wonder if Michael's affliction inspired the lyrics to tbat song, which he wrote himself, of course?
Don't change, literally changed the future.
Better than the stones u2 their energy was unparalleled.
Women loved him, men wanted to be him. A few years ago I asked my daughter what she was listening to, back in the MP3 days.. She said OMG have you seen this man. I wish he had known how much he was loved.
Saudade desse lindo e talentoso cantor

Controlled chaos. Great description! 💥 and nasty - in a good way!
Best singer ever!
They played at my high school one lunchtime back in about '81 or '82. Pittwater High School.
❤❤❤❤Forever Michael Hutchence 💋 & INXS!!
Incredible just incredible
MH was far above legend im jealous.
