Thank you for this video! I am from Chattanooga and this brought back so many AWESOME memories! I retired from the ARMY in Georgia. When the video first started and you panned to where the 2 people are right at the dam, that is the EXACT spot where my Grandfather was teaching me to fish and I slipped and had to go get some stitches, but it was a AWESOME day! God bless, you Brother and be safe!
"Yeah it was only a drum, but..." Hey, don't knock the drum; that's a great catch. I actually target drum quite often on the Big Blue here in Kansas. If you've never had them, they can produce pretty tasty and wonderfully flaky fillets (depending on the region and individual they can also be a little yucky). Even if you're not into eating them, they can certainly be a blast to catch. Congratulations on that monster!
I absolutely love those Bobby Garlands. I’ve caught just about every species I’ve targeted on those bad boys. I do a lot of saltwater fishing and I’ve caught sizable speckled trout, stripers, and red drum on them, as well as every freshwater species except carp. I stopped throwing them on an ultra light because it’s so common to hook into big fish with them.
Drove over the dam a couple days ago in my way back to Michigan from Florida. You truly live in a beautiful part of the country. I was so fortunate just to drive through your area and see for myself the area your videos come from.
Perfect scenario to try something new and a lipless crankbait. After the bass bite...whoa!! What did I hook? That's no moon...IT'S A SPACE STATION!!! Gotta love the fight on those drum..the Rodney Dangerfield of freshwater fish. Thanks for taking us to the river brother. Blessings
Funny we were talking about the battle of chickamauga today in history and our teacher was like “where was it fought?” And I just said “by the lake and on the dam”
WOW that's a big Drum! Got to go fishing today it is Nov 10th in Indiana today was up to 64 found one 13 1/2 inch smallmouth willing to be caught sent you a pick made my day thank the Lord. Fun catching on ultra lite. Great video John keep em coming.
Thats drum is freaking huge!!! I’ve caught one before on a storm swim bait but it was only 2 pounds… this was an awesome video! A bunch of bass and a giant drum! Super entertaining! Have a blessed day and good luck with the basketball games!
Oh how I would love to be catching something now. I’m in NW Montana and it has turned cold and I can’t seem to find anything biting. We can’t get anywhere near the dams, top or bottom here. All summer yellow perch and pumpkin seeds were everywhere and we saw some huge pike but they pulled out all the boat ramp docks so bank fishing only. Great fish you caught.
Thank you for sharing this video with us today sir. That was a huge drum. I've caught a lot of fish off lipless baits mostly rattle traps are my favorite. God bless you sir. 🙏❤🙏❤🙏😊😊😊
Something that I have found myself doing is when you post a video I'll start searching Google maps just to see if I can figure out where you are fishing. Usually I don't find it perfectly, but get a decent idea of where it is using bridges and stuff, and it's kind of fun. I know this place VERY well, but haven't fished it. My daughter lives just a couple of miles from here, so had you not said where it was I think that I could have found it. But I'm still going to try and figure out future video locations :D
Hi this is I believe the first time I saw this video of yours, I love the part when the train was going over the bridge and then I saw some kind of bird or pelican that was beautiful, I love things like that.
Creek fishing adventures: I’ve never caught anything on a lipless crank Me: me neither Creek fishing adventures: catches bass then GIANT drum Me: once again grabs keys and heads to tackle shop 🤞
I come up through this area every weekend to do the Chattanooga markets on the weekend and keep saying I want to stop and fish. I definitely got to give it a try now.
That’s about the length of the black drums at the beach but they’re double the weight. It’s a little bit of an easier fight on the surf rods but it’s always a pain to land them.
Great close to spillway and dams. See the water is flowing fast enough from letting your spoon get caught on the bottom and the fish thinks they look like live shad because silver or shiny spoons does look alot like shad or bait fish
I'm there a few times a week, and I seen you that day parking and thought is that.... no It couldn't be, I should of said hello. Where you parked go to the left of boat ramp and fish off the rocks, that's my hunnyhole. Also by the dam behind the college is MONEY!!!
Great drum man. I feel like I'm all over the place this time of year with my lure choices. Just not real confident in much and looking for that new go to lure. Lol
Hey man, fun vid. I recently moved to the Chatt/Harrison area. Looking to link up with other channels and network Also always down to fish if youre ok with a tag a long.
My POPZ & GRANDFATHER would take me FISHING!!! * Where do you think I learned about Water Moccasins? I didn't care for freshwater fishing, but I like DEEP SEA!!!

That was a big drum, good fight. Fishing with Big Mike fishes the pier by the dam there at night and gets 50lb plus blue catfish.

Chattanooga is amazing. Im a recent transplant and absolutely love it.

I caught one about that big on a senko on Loudon and he pulled me and the kayak around for a bit.
I’ve always wanted to fish below chickamauga! Awesome vid!
Thats drum is freaking huge!!! I’ve caught one before on a storm swim bait but it was only 2 pounds… this was an awesome video! A bunch of bass and a giant drum! Super entertaining! Have a blessed day and good luck with the basketball games!

My favorite UA-camr
Nice fishing adventure, thanks John.
Jonah's got nothin' on you after catching that drum! Congrats - what a fun fish to catch! Awesome!
Haha. It was a monster
Wow nice catch that was a big drum!
Drum was a beast got to love the fight
I caught a 9.5lb drum at Pickwick 2 weeks ago on a Ratltrap!
That’s awesome! Those drum are fun to catch!

Awesome catch buddy. He was huge
We fish below nickajack dam and it’s always an adventure! Never know what you’re going to catch! Good video!
Than is the largest drum I’ve ever seen…great job! Both drum and carp can be caught on lures and put up quite a battle.
My first drum was caught on a tungsten 2-tap red eye shad at Kentucky lake. It was big and put up a good fight. Lots of fun.
That was an awesome drum. Keep tossing that lipless, I’ve caught some nice bass on them…especially during the cooler months
Thank you for sharing this video with us today sir. That was a huge drum. I've caught a lot of fish off lipless baits mostly rattle traps are my favorite. God bless you sir. 🙏❤🙏❤🙏😊😊😊
amazing!!! that thing is so chunky!

Lol 😆 🤣 that Blue Heron was yelling at ya buddy!
The drums always feel like you have a bulldozer on!🤣

Another good video John!!! God bless and GO Kats!!!!
Lots of different species caught!! Too cool 😎 👌 buddy!!
Rapala Fire Tiger lipless is my main lure never let me down through the whole year
Awesome drum and bass!
Wow that fish was a beast! It was peeling line like it was nothing,
Killer drum! Josh over at pigpatrol is going to be jealous of that one!!
Haha. Yeah
fresh water drum also called goo or goux pearch, in Louisiana they are most cimmonly cooked in a coubillion
Beautiful fish.
Creek fishing adventures: I’ve never caught anything on a lipless crank
Me: me neither
Creek fishing adventures: catches bass then GIANT drum
Me: once again grabs keys and heads to tackle shop 🤞
Nice Drum thing😂😂
I come up through this area every weekend to do the Chattanooga markets on the weekend and keep saying I want to stop and fish. I definitely got to give it a try now.
Hey man let me know if you want. Would love to meet up with ya
Nice catch brotha, that was one HUGE drum fish!!!
Thats a nice drum an they get double that..my mom caught a 32lb drum this past spring durin the maumee river walleye run..they are fun..my pb is 12lbs
That was a big ol drum, good job !! Great video 👍🏻
Big ol Gasper Goo. Good times.
When you hook Into a big drum you’ll never forget that crazy dive they do when you get them near the surface lol
I caut one crappie on that lipless bait. Most times one of the hooks get tangled on the line . Is there a trick to it ?
I like catching drum as much as bass as long as they are clean....they fight extremely hard. Some of them can be pretty dirty.
That’s about the length of the black drums at the beach but they’re double the weight. It’s a little bit of an easier fight on the surf rods but it’s always a pain to land them.
I need to catch one of those
@@CreekFishingAdventures pompano rig with shrimp and fishbites and a size 5000 reel on a 7-10 foot rod with 20 mono
Nice drum John.
Always enjoy your content, but this one was exceptional. 😊
Next time try a jigging spoon on shiny blade bait to match the thread fin shad, great video man. Keep em' coming
Yes jigging spoons works great at that dam and all dams
@@johnbubbajohnson5630 how do they work on like small rivers?
Great close to spillway and dams. See the water is flowing fast enough from letting your spoon get caught on the bottom and the fish thinks they look like live shad because silver or shiny spoons does look alot like shad or bait fish
Great video I'd love to catch up 14 lb drum right about now fish just aren't biting for me
Nice Drum!!!!
Freaking tank drum. Great video thanks for bringing us with you.
I'm there a few times a week, and I seen you that day parking and thought is that.... no It couldn't be, I should of said hello. Where you parked go to the left of boat ramp and fish off the rocks, that's my hunnyhole. Also by the dam behind the college is MONEY!!!
The Drum Master you are.🥁🐋
Great drum man. I feel like I'm all over the place this time of year with my lure choices. Just not real confident in much and looking for that new go to lure. Lol
It's hard to beat a booyah one knocker pre spawn in the early spring, especially in grassy areas, and in the fall.
On one hand, I’d be skeered to fish there, snd on the other looks fun.
wow amazing fishing
Great video. Have you tried the TN River gorge area near the Raccoon Mountain area?
no i need to try there
that is the fun in fishing for me not knowing what could bite. big fish are big fish no matter the model name. drum things included lol
Drum or not that was awesome catch
Weird seeing Springdale Heating & Air on your jacket. From Springdale Pa here.
It’s my old job but from Tennessee
What a slobber knocker!!
Loved the video.
I know this a bit to ask for but could you do a walleye fishing video
Are there drums in Michigan? I have never caught one.
I would’ve tried throwing into the current hopping a spoon along the way.
Watching u catch that drum gave me flashbacks of that carp you caught with me that time!! Lol 😆 🤣 #epic
Yeah for sure
How did you tie the top lure win you doubled up?
That thing was a tank!
What time of the day do you recommend going fishing ?
Anytime you feel like it. I don’t really have a time I like more than others
Nice fight!
Drag washers needed? I know a guy😂😂😂. Nice Drum!
I caught a drum on a chatter bait one time 😅 it was only a twoand a half pound one though 👀 still fun though 🙃!
Is that near the bike path?
If that tackle storage box says 3700, it is mislabeled. That is definitely a 3600 series box.
Good video > wish I had known you were in town I would have bought your dinner ...
I caught my pb drum on a crawdad at the Ohio river. They sure put up an amazing fight ☺️
Sweet
Ye'ah!!
Nothing wrong with a drum. They're hard fighters. Nice triple play on the blacks too.
I would keep throwing it lol
nice catch
Hey man, fun vid. I recently moved to the Chatt/Harrison area. Looking to link up with other channels and network Also always down to fish if youre ok with a tag a long.
I thought you had a 6lb smallmouth! Lol still fun to catch
That would be insane! Idk what I'd do if I caught one of those haha
Once you start catching fish on a lipless crank you'll never take it off..it will catch anything that swims...been using them for over 50 years...
Wow. What a fish. I don't care what species it is, if a fish that size bites then I'm gonna be happy.
Nice video
My POPZ & GRANDFATHER would take me FISHING!!! * Where do you think I learned about Water Moccasins? I didn't care for freshwater fishing, but I like DEEP SEA!!!
Anytime you are back in Dayton and want someone to beat the banks with you give me a holler
