Nice cats, John! And it’s always amazed me at how much the role of “confidence” in location and equipment plays into the success of our fishing endeavors! Loved the vid!
Well Sir , ¨ Ol Blue ¨"might not have been your ¨ PB ¨ but it was a formidable size none the less . Two beautiful catś , therefore , another beautiful day of fishing . Gd'night .
I reckon if you was fishing for supper you coulda had the catfish plate or the chicken dinner....great stuff as always brother. Merry Christmas to the creek fishing adventures nation. God bless.
It's truly amazing to see people fishing for those monsters in my hometown. I remember fishing with my dad all along the Tennessee River by the Chickamauga dam so many times. I never saw or caught one but he recalls us being down there one time when some guy caught one of the monster catfish. Sadly I don't remember that. We also found a catfish channel about a half of a mile down from the dam. every time you cast it out you would catch at least like a 5 to 7 pound catfish. It was our secret spot! also the small blue pier right beside the dam it's a bait trap. If you fish down there you will lose 80% of your bait to those little bluegills. Those fuckers are too small to be worth catching but they will eat everything! Haha.
NO WAY!!! I go to the university right around the corner!! The chickamauga’s got some absolute MONSTERS, great stress relief for a rough school week. Crazy to see you around my home turf!
I think we can get John to play Honest Abe if he shaves his stache off and saves his beard...or get him a job at the Mennonite farm up in Delano catching fish for them. He already does some of that for free of at Two Rivers Campground for the Mennonites.
Those were very nice catfish my friend do more of these kind of videos they're the best thanks again I hope you had a Merry Christmas to your friend Billy Simmons
I know it's on the other side of the state from you but i would love to see you do a show on the white bass you can catch at the Danville Tn. flour mill that is in the middle of the river.
Yeah, that looks out of John's comfort zone! That dam is a big one. Not like the small dams and tailwaters of the Ocoee. Ocoee dam #1 I think it is where John fishes.
Those skipjacks are fun. I still have not caught a striper, but hoping to work on that come this new year. Going to make some runs up to Melton Hill, try my hand at anything that will bite and hopefully practice with my smaller cast net. If you would like to go too let me know, since we are both in Cleveland
Good video those we're some really nice cats man I wish you a merry Christmas and a happy prosperous and healthy new year looking forward to some new vids in 2021 tight lines brother GOD BLESS you 👍✌🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Well, we finally got our deer so now we can shoot doves and go fishing.yellow perch are biting...but we,ll keep some.great vid, really motivating.thanks from k& l up on the plateau.merry christmas and may the good Lord continue to bless you john.
Another great fishing adventure. Love the sound of that water. It's usually all frozen here this time of year but we are having a very mild winter so far. No snow on the ground and no zero temps so we are wondering who stole winter. lol Here's hoping you and yours have a blessed and peaceful Christmas. Stay safe and healthy. God bless and keep you in His awesome care always and in all ways. Merry Christmas and Happy fishing.
Hey John, u prolly have learned this by now (this video is 9months old lol) but CHANNEL catfish are the ONLY catfish with spot/freckles no matter what color it is 👍🏼
I was fishing for skipjack the same place with double jigs and hooked a big smallmouth at the face of the dam.. lost it in the current on my ultralight and 4lb line
Hey thanks for the video, I actually tried catfishing these exact spots. I managed a 2 lb channel cat at the dam, but nothing in the hidey hole you caught the big blue in. Went fishing for skip jack today and it was a complete bust. I don't think the skip jacks are biting today atleast. Although its summer now and the vid was in fall/winter.
I fish there a good bit and earlier this year I went there and caught 20 skipjack and 7 good cats one weightin 20 pds I have pics but they don't do the cats justice.
Your fishing trips just light up my day. Real nice blue. Your Bible verses make me stop and think. Never a dull moment with John. STAY SAFE.
Finally! The classic intro is back!!!!!
I was thinking the same thing. That intro never gets old.
Lol those security chickens.
Thank you for the opportunity to watch your video 📹 🙏 !!!!!
I just caught a white bass from there and I am so excited

Merry Christmas and happy holidays
I believe ive seen this spot before watching chatts cats fishing you tube channel and he caught some good ones
Dude we fish that spot all the time. Fish minnows or shad on a drop shot rig straight up and down under the front of the pier for good bass.
Those were very nice catfish my friend do more of these kind of videos they're the best thanks again I hope you had a Merry Christmas to your friend Billy Simmons

I’d definitely like to see some more cat fishing vids like this one, great video!
Best catfish bait
That blue looked much bigger in the video than the picture you sent me. 😁

That blue was a gorgeous fish. You're making me want to get out to do some catfishing.
GOD BLESS, you always have a great time, and so do l!!!
If they still allow access next time at the damn try across the damn near the loc, I used to catch nice channel and crappie near the bridge,

Nice catfish!
Love the catfish videos. Would love to see you pull a big ol flathead out of the Tennessee or one of those creeks
🎆🎄🎆MERRY CHRISTMAS & A HAPPY HEALTHY NEW YEAR🎆🎄🎆 Great videos & always fun to watch 🐟
The round mark on one of the first skipjacks could be from a lamprey.
That looks like a store that still sells dip cold by the bait
That was a nice blue cat. Still have yet to catch one over 10 lbs.
I love what you do. Thanks. Hard to remember to not hook set fish on circle hooks. 🙂
yeah for real
@@CreekFishingAdventures question I got a penn purist iv I saw you have a Penn rod are penn rods good with bass catfish just which fish
Hey thanks for the video, I actually tried catfishing these exact spots. I managed a 2 lb channel cat at the dam, but nothing in the hidey hole you caught the big blue in. Awesome stuff! Enjoying the videos fro FishHooked 🔥
The bigger hook wasn’t the problem with you losing that first bite. You should have hook-set first then tighten up your drag.
Looks like he was using circle hooks. With those hooks you don't "set" the hook; you simply start reeling.
@@markriggs1190
I agree. Or if you’re a good fisherman, you could hook-set.
@@Unspoke Look up circle hooks. If you "hook set", you are likely to pull the hook out of the mouth. With circle hooks, you do not "hook set".
nice! I got to get out there and catch a skipjack, close relatives to out hickory Shad. Oh , UNC beat kentucky.
Uk is struggling
yeah yeah, i know
@@CreekFishingAdventures sorry, I had to rub it in. UNC really isnt all that good this year either.
@creek fishing adventures, what part of Kentucky are u from. I’m also from Kentucky and I am starting to post more fishing things.
Great video man I’m going to have to try that creek sometime I fish the dam quite a bit
I lived in Chattanooga and fished that dam
I fish there a good bit and earlier this year I went there and caught 20 skipjack and 7 good cats one weightin 20 pds I have pics but they don't do the cats justice.

Good video where you at at catching the catfish is that right off of amnicola highway
