Getting close to the second start-try-out.

    That's quite unfortunate :(
My bike seems to be running fine after re-building my own clutch (although it does drag - increase the idle slightly to counteract that).
It has been running fine though for the last 400 or so miles without too much issue.
I hope you can ride yours soon, clutch sound or no clutch sound!

Wish I had found your video before I did the same job, took me hours to work it out! Well done. You make it look easy! I greased the gasket which makes it reusable.

Thank you for the compliment. I'll try to remember the grease idea too. Maybe that a tiny smear of sealant (blue goo) does the same?

No will not be the same. I was sceptical when I was told the grease trick but have found it works. Ok with cylinder barrel base gasket too. Because of excellent engineering of the engine cases on MZ.

Ok. Well, when needed...I will try this out. ( I hope not to, for a longer period of time at least..)

I'm glad it's back together, I take it the next video is a start up test? :) Looking forward to it.

How do i remove the clutch cover of a 94 mz251 ? Every basic visible thing removed, but clutch cable end still appears fixed somehow ! Manual with bike useless. Help please ! Thankyou. Dave

I'm sorry Dave, I missed your question... But this is the procedure: 1 Remove both oil lines that connect to the oil pump 2 remove the cable from the oil pump (leave the oil pump on!) 3 Remove the small cover at the crankshaft 4 Remove the plate and the O-ring behind the cover 5 Remove the nut and washer on the crankshaft 6 Pull the rubber around the clutch cable from the tube cover 7 Pull the clutch cable forward and remove the nylon/plastic recessed holder from its seating 8 Loosen the tube around the clutch cable (wrench 18mm, force may be required!) 9 With the tube turned out of the clutch cover, lossen the clutch cable from the lever (now finally visible) 10 Remove the clutch cover bolts 11 Pull the clutch cover from the engine (rubber mallet often handy). BTW leave the kickstarter on. I hope that this is helpful, sorry for the belated reaction!

Have you been on your bike since assembling it? What kind of fuel economy do you now have against what you used to have?

I haven't been on the bike yet... There's still that sound coming from the clutch...grrrr But sofar the weather is so disgustingly cold (it is snowing as I write this!) that I haven't fixed it yet. I haven't worked on the bike since the beginnings of january, the last time that I could work outside decently.

I had to run your remark through Google translate..... My Arabic is quite bad... But maybe if someone wants to translate? I'm not against it.
