I have stage 4 lung cancer and Jenny has made it so much easier for me by showing me how this should be handled. What a blessing she is to all Of us who are going through the same thing. I can't imagine what Kyle must be going through. Good to hear that Jenny is doing as good as is possible and that she's not in pain, hospice care seems to be the right things, hope Jenny can come home.
When I die I just hope I am able to do it with one tenth the strength, love, and dignity Jenny has shown us, all of you for that matter. I'm just devastated, but I'm here for all of you. I am an EMT, just finishing paramedic school and waiting for licensse to transition from emt to medic. Ive responded to so many calls that involved the end of a life and to my surprise...many of them were patients in hospice. Ive also had the privilege many times of bringing people from the hospital to in patient hospice. I also got to do hospice shifts with our local hospice during paramedic school. I can with certainty say that kyle and Jennys family are what i wish every single one of us would have when our transition comes. End of life is so hard and scary. It is the ultimate uncontrollable and the ultimate unknown. But the bravery, love, compassion and reslience you all have shown to the world is astounding. And through your experience, you are showing us how to do and be better. I saw in the last live jenny regretted not having had the time to write a book. She didnt write a book but she did get to write a story and a manual on a how to be the best you, always...despite the circumstance. We are all characters in her story and shes teaching us so much by letting us be a part of it. Kyle and the family, this is untreaded territory and every second feels scary but i admire how you continue to live and make every moment count in all the ways you've have to adapt in light of the circumstance. I only "met" you guys about a month ago and i adore everything you have to give us, show us, and teach us. What a gift considering these are private times for many and no one is entitled to all youve offered us. Thank you so much. I know through your experience I am in a much better position to be of service and help guide my patients, loved ones and even myself when the time comes.
I once read that a hospice nurse also said it was a privilege to be with someone when they did one of the most profound things they will ever do , that is leave their body❤
Kyle and Jenny, as a critical care RN, who has been at the bedside with hospice patients how much each care provider considers it such an incredible honor to be a witness to your journey, to know both of you and your family during this window of time, to be present for the joy, the tears and the incredible love that is shared and to provide care and ease this journey as much as possible. She is so very loved as is your entire family. Praying for the gentlest of journeys and transition for each of you.

My prayers go put to you and your family. I worked 25 years doing hospice care. Be assured Jenny will be keep with bare minimal suffering. The meds are not just for pain, but her breathing as well. Even at the end, it may look like she is laboring to breath, she will be unaware of it. Hospice is the way to go for anyone at end of live. We do not let people suffer. It is a very hard job but the reward of seeing our patients go peacfully is wonderful. Jenny is a sweet Angel. Another miracle is that she has such a loving, caring husband whom she means the world to. This is the kind of love you don't see too often....it's what she'll take with her.❤🙏
Kyle, I want to tell you how grateful we are to hear from you. I don't know how you found the time to update us, but thank you. I am so relieved to know that Jenny is comfortable and not in any pain. I know these days are a blur for you, unspeakably hard, and unimaginably painful, but please know that you will be okay. I know it doesn't feel like that, and dark days will come, but you will be okay. When Jenny is ready to go, take comfort in knowing that you took excellent care of her and that everyone did their best. When my mother died she was in hospice at home. I was her care giver. My advice is to treasure every moment, because everything that happens in these next few days, will be things you reflect on for years to come. Nothing can prepare you for the moment, just give the kids a lot of love and attention. You were gifted with a beautiful wife, we have enjoyed watching the love between you. Thank you for sharing your story, it has helped a lot of people.

Kyle, I am fairly new to your precious wife's cancer journey, and to see the love you two share is admirable. I lost my dad to cancer in March, and he and my mom were married for 45 years. While on hospice, every night, before my dad fell asleep, my mom would lay in my dads arms and listen to 1 or two of their favorite songs. It was the most beautiful and intimate thing I have witnessed. Death can be scary, and lord knows it's so hard, but have faith that as Jenny prepares to transition to her eternal home, she will be welcomed with open arms, and her body will be made whole again. I was the one, that was administering my dad's medication, at the end, and I made it my goal to ensure he passed with as much dignity and grace that he lived. I am keeping you all in my prayers. I am proud of you for seeing a counselor because this grief journey can be overwhelming and sometimes debilitating. Just make sure you are taking care of yourself, too, as those two precious little ones will need you! Please tell Jenny she has already impacted my life in just a few short weeks. She is a fighter and all of us know that she never gave up, her tired body just simply gave out! ❤

After going back and watching Jenny’s videos pre-diagnosis, a thought occurred that Jenny will be reunited with the child she never got to meet. Ellis & Winnie are so blessed to have her for their mommy. Now a sibling they never knew will get a chance to experience her love. Steadfast prayers to the Apple family. ❤❤❤
You're absolutely correct! If they never named this child, they should give him/her a name. My son and his wife lost a baby too, and they named the baby Emerson. I think it brings comfort and a connection between earth and Heaven for them. I tell people I have 8 grandchildren. I have 7 who are living here on earth, and one in Heaven.

I worked as caregiver for hospice, my last patient was a 43 year old man in his home with his children and wife and parents.I’m so glad to hear Jenny gets her wish to be at home. 💕

I lost my dad at a young age to cancer and I have to say the grace you're showing your children and Jenny is truly astounding. It reminds me of my mom and how she handled it. Me too I was 23. He was 55. Skin cancer. Brutal took him in 7 days. I'm 57 now, this has really brought back memories and makes me get more urgent to make my final arrangements

Kyle, this is breaking my heart. Telling you I know how you feel means nothing. I lost my husband in 2011, with him passing in the hospital. He'd just turned 50 & suddenly got sick. He passed away in the hospital May 2011. In Aug 2022, my 31-year-old daughter passed away from breast cancer at home. I've been there & I'm here for you & your family keeping you in my thoughts & prayers for whatever that is.

I have a question for you if you don't mind, I am in chronic pain everyday. How can a cancer patient be medicated to be not in pain and I can't get my pain under control?
@@MLOCharmerI am sorry. I am guessing they are using a combination of medications (they mentioned a fentanyl patch - likely also strong IV or oral medications that make her very sleepy. Things that would be difficult for you do do your daily activities with. But certainly seeing a pain specialist would be a good idea if you are able to.
Thank you for letting us know what is going on. I have been praying for you,Jenny and the kids since the 1st time I saw a video that was posted. It is no doubt the hardest thing to deal with. @@MLOCharmerbecause in hospice care, they do not have to worry about the negative side effects of pain killers and the risk to life. The only concern is pain relief.
This is the hardest part. When my brother was in his phase of his terminal cancer journey, I remember not wanting to leave until he opened his eyes. He was actually in hospice care for three months at home (totally worth it, though signing the DNR is heartbreaking). The last days (the hospice staff thought he had days to live…turned into THREE WEEKS!), and he was transported to a facility. I stayed for hours, among hours, among hours until he finally opened his eyes and tried to speak to me. He said,”Mello Yello.” (His favorite soda when we were teenagers!) I ran out of the hospice, screeching my tires to buy my brother his favorite soda. He was only allowed a tiny sip from a straw, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. The last words my brother said to me, “Mello Yello”. ❤
How wonderful you were able to do something for your brother. It may have only been one sip, but that one sip was priceless. What a lovely memory you have to know you gave him his last favourite drink. Thank you for sharing with us. ❤

I’m a cancer patient and Jenny has been my model since I started the medication the process is almost the same that’s why I’m not afraid to go every step because of you guys so I personally appreciate all your efforts and I want you to keep being strong at least for me. Kyle speaks about hospice being angels what he doesn’t realize is he has been Jenny’s ANGEL all along. My cousin is an end of life Nurse Practitioner in hospice and they are angles, she told my family what to expect and look for when my mother went on hospice earlier this year and passed away.

Kyle, my heart breaks for you and the kids. Our 38 year old daughter was diagnosed with stomach cancer and died 3 months later leaving children 5 and 7 years old. It is a tough journey for all concerned. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Hospice is absolutely wonderful! 🙏 They provide so much support. They will have a nurse stay with you around the clock. They can also help the family with emotional support if you guys need. They will educate you on the dying process. We even had a pastor come to our home. They have so many ways to help ease her pain, help with her anxiety, her breathing. I can not say enough great things about Hospice care. 🙏 ❤ They will help take wonderful care of her. You guys are always in my prayers 🙏
We had hospice for my father but there was never a nurse there around the clock. They only came once a day for about an hour. And sometimes an assistant would come with the hospice nurse to help clean my dad.
Hospice never stayed around the clock for my family.. I recieved the comfort pack and basically they only came to house if we needed them too.. but hospice told us that they can do what we do!
That is not true about around the clock hospice nurses. They may come daily to check in, but hospice staffing does not allow for around the clock staff in the home.

What a wonderful update. It reminds me of when my mom died. It was an honor and a privilege to be by her side as she transitioned from this world. Even in her last few days she was so peaceful. As terribly sad as these moments are in so pleased they are beautiful moments and that the children are a part of it. You are right, Kyle. There's no need to record her, unless it's what she wants. You deserve the privacy as your family is struggling to get thru this. I'm an RN and have done respite care for hospice patients. All of you will be reliving these last moments on video over and over. It will be so difficult for your family to go thru it once let alone, watching them later to do it all over again. As a nurse, I stumbled on the video of that terrible rash and watched in disbelief. It's a miracle she survived that. I was hooked from there. She truly is a fighter and has such a strong will to live. Watching my own parents as they passed, I realized that they survived as long as they did was because of the love that surrounded them. It's been mainly YOUR love and support that has kept her by your side this long. I'm 66 with over 100 brain tumors and I pray that I have someone like you who loves me just as much. We all have grown to love and admire you all. It's been a true inspiration. Hang in there, Kyle, because death can be just as beautiful as life. ❤️😥

I lost my husband due to cancer 3 weeks ago and it’s like you’re telling my story. I hope that Jenny can come home to spend her last days at home with you and her babies & family, and where she’s the most comfortable with those that she loves. We were able to do that with my husband and I’m forever grateful that he was able to die in my arms, wrapped in mine and our family’s love. My husband’s palliative nurse was an angel, like your Jenny’s hospice nurse. ’ll keep you all very close to heart and hope for for peaceful and gentle days for Jenny, you, your babies and family. ❤

I am an EMT, just finishing paramedic school and waiting for licensse to transition from emt to medic. Ive responded to so many calls that involved the end of a life and to my surprise...many of them were patients in hospice. Ive also had the privilege many times of bringing people from the hospital to in patient hospice. I also got to do hospice shifts with our local hospice during paramedic school.
I can with certainty say that kyle and Jennys family are what i wish every single one of us would have when our transition comes. End of life is so hard and scary. It is the ultimate uncontrollable and the ultimate unknown. But the bravery, love, compassion and reslience you all have shown to the world is astounding. And through your experience, you are showing us how to do and be better.
I saw in the last live jenny regretted not having had the time to write a book. She didnt write a book but she did get to write a story and a manual on a how to be the best you, always...despite the circumstance. We are all characters in her story and shes teaching us so much by letting us be a part of it.
Kyle and the family, this is untreaded territory and every second feels scary but i admire how you continue to live and make every moment count in all the ways you've have to adapt in light of the circumstance.
I only "met" you guys about a month ago and i adore everything you have to give us, show us, and teach us. What a gift considering these are private times for many and no one is entitled to all youve offered us. Thank you so much. I know through your experience I am in a much better position to be of service and help guide my patients, loved ones and even myself when the time comes.

My prayers go put to you and your family. I worked 25 years doing hospice care. Be assured Jenny will be keep with bare minimal suffering. The meds are not just for pain, but her breathing as well. Even at the end, it may look like she is laboring to breath, she will be unaware of it. Hospice is the way to go for anyone at end of live. We do not let people suffer. It is a very hard job but the reward of seeing our patients go peacfully is wonderful. Jenny is a sweet Angel. Her beautiful soul shines ro all people she knows. 🥰 God Bless you all and cherish what time you have left. Jenny will always be watching over her family. Love you all.

When my mother died she was in hospice at home. I was her care giver. My advice is to treasure every moment, because everything that happens in these next few days, will be things you reflect on for years to come. Nothing can prepare you for the moment, just give the kids a lot of love and attention. You were gifted with a beautiful wife, we have enjoyed watching the love between you. Thank you for sharing your story, it has helped a lot of people.

Kyle, I am fairly new to your precious wife's cancer journey, and to see the love you two share is admirable. I lost my dad to cancer in March, and he and my mom were married for 45 years. While on hospice, every night, before my dad fell asleep, my mom would lay in my dads arms and listen to 1 or two of their favorite songs. It was the most beautiful and intimate thing I have witnessed. Death can be scary, and lord knows it's so hard, but have faith that as Jenny prepares to transition to her eternal home, she will be welcomed with open arms, and her body will be made whole again. I was the one, that was administering my dad's medication, at the end, and I made it my goal to ensure he passed with as much dignity and grace that he lived. I am keeping you all in my prayers. I am proud of you for seeing a counselor because this grief journey can be overwhelming and sometimes debilitating. Just make sure you are taking care of yourself, too, as those two precious little ones will need you! Please tell Jenny she has already impacted my life in just a few short weeks. She is a fighter and all of us know that she never gave up, her tired body just simply gave out! ❤

You're absolutely correct! If they never named this child, they should give him/her a name. My son and his wife lost a baby too, and they named the baby Emerson. I think it brings comfort and a connection between earth and Heaven for them. I tell people I have 8 grandchildren. I have 7 who are living here on earth, and one in Heaven.

So glad to hear the wonderful praise report that Jenny will soon be home and under hospice care. Hospice is such a blessing for all those at the end of their lives. I lost my dad at a young age to cancer and I have to say the grace you're showing your children and Jenny is truly astounding. It reminds me of my mom and how she handled it. Kyle, this is breaking my heart. Telling you I know how you feel means nothing. I lost my husband in 2011, with him passing in the hospital. He'd just turned 50 & suddenly got sick. He passed away in the hospital May 2011. In Aug 2022, my 31-year-old daughter passed away from breast cancer at home. I've been there & I'm here for you & your family keeping you in my thoughts & prayers for whatever that is.

I have a question for you if you don't mind, I am in chronic pain everyday. How can a cancer patient be medicated to be not in pain and I can't get my pain under control?
@@MLOCharmerI am sorry. I am guessing they are using a combination of medications (they mentioned a fentanyl patch - likely also strong IV or oral medications that make her very sleepy. Things that would be difficult for you do do your daily activities with. But certainly seeing a pain specialist would be a good idea if you are able to.

This is the hardest part. When my brother was in his phase of his terminal cancer journey, I remember not wanting to leave until he opened his eyes. He was actually in hospice care for three months at home (totally worth it, though signing the DNR is heartbreaking). The last days (the hospice staff thought he had days to live…turned into THREE WEEKS!), and he was transported to a facility. I stayed for hours, among hours, among hours until he finally opened his eyes and tried to speak to me. He said,”Mello Yello.” (His favorite soda when we were teenagers!) I ran out of the hospice, screeching my tires to buy my brother his favorite soda. He was only allowed a tiny sip from a straw, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. The last words my brother said to me, “Mello Yello”. ❤

Hospice is absolutely wonderful! 🙏 They provide so much support. They will have a nurse stay with you around the clock. They can also help the family with emotional support if you guys need. They will educate you on the dying process. We even had a pastor come to our home. They have so many ways to help ease her pain, help with her anxiety, her breathing. I can not say enough great things about Hospice care. 🙏 ❤ They will help take wonderful care of her. You guys are always in my prayers 🙏

We had hospice for my father but there was never a nurse there around the clock. They only came once a day for about an hour. And sometimes an assistant would come with the hospice nurse to help clean my dad.
That's not true. Why say that?
Hospice never stayed around the clock for my family.. I recieved the comfort pack and basically they only came to house if we needed them too.. but hospice told us that they can do what we do!
That is not true about around the clock hospice nurses. They may come daily to check in, but hospice staffing does not allow for around the clock staff in the home.

What a wonderful update. It reminds me of when my mom died. It was an honor and a privilege to be by her side as she transitioned from this world. Even in her last few days she was so peaceful. As terribly sad as these moments are in so pleased they are beautiful moments and that the children are a part of it. You are right, Kyle. There's no need to record her, unless it's what she wants. You deserve the privacy as your family is struggling to get thru this. I'm an RN and have done respite care for hospice patients. All of you will be reliving these last moments on video over and over. It will be so difficult for your family to go thru it once let alone, watching them later to do it all over again. As a nurse, I stumbled on the video of that terrible rash and watched in disbelief. It's a miracle she survived that. I was hooked from there. She truly is a fighter and has such a strong will to live. Watching my own parents as they passed, I realized that they survived as long as they did was because of the love that surrounded them. It's been mainly YOUR love and support that has kept her by your side this long. I'm 66 with over 100 brain tumors and I pray that I have someone like you who loves me just as much. We all have grown to love and admire you all. It's been a true inspiration. Hang in there, Kyle, because death can be just as beautiful as life. ❤️😥

I lost my husband due to cancer 3 weeks ago and it’s like you’re telling my story. I hope that Jenny can come home to spend her last days at home with you and her babies & family, and where she’s the most comfortable with those that she loves. We were able to do that with my husband and I’m forever grateful that he was able to die in my arms, wrapped in mine and our family’s love. My husband’s palliative nurse was an angel, like your Jenny’s hospice nurse. ’ll keep you all very close to heart and hope for for peaceful and gentle days for Jenny, you, your babies and family. ❤
