    Rumble feature has also arrived to the Nintendo DS and DS Lite via a rumble cartridge that fit in the GBA slot 😉
    But it works only with the "rumble compatible" DS games.

    Omg! The rumble on Tarzan actually works! I just tried it on my EZ Flash DE and whenever "pumba" runs over you, it gives you a little two-rumble jolt! That's so cool! I didn't think it was going to work at first because nothing else was setting it off but as soon as I got hit by the warthog, I felt it.
    Edit: It's actually a fairly impressive game visually for the gbc (very fluid animations) but unfortunately, there's a pretty annoying sound feedback issue with the Goomba emulator that the EZ Flash uses. Still, it's really neat getting to experience this game in a way that no one ever was able to officially.
    Edit 2: After playing through 3 stages, so far the only thing that triggers the rumble is "Pumba" stampeding towards you. Not sure if there are other enemies later on that do it or if they never got around to finishing the rumble stuff. So yeah, so far it's pretty underwhelming but still neat, nonetheless.

      YES! Thank you for confirming! I’m going to need to pick up an EZ Flash DE to try this myself. And thanks for watching my video and taking note of my Tarzan fact (which probably means you watched my entire video, in which you have my thanks).

      @@ZackGaz Surething! It's such a cool easter egg to learn about and test after so many years. Makes you wonder if there are any others designed with rumble that shipped without it.
      And I can definitely vouch for the EZ Flash DE. I've had it for about two months and it's been great so far. I've got an EZ Flash Junior too and the quality of the DE is leaps and bounds higher. It's a definite contender to the Everdrive, imo.
      Really enjoyed the vid and made sure to sub. Glad I was able to help out! If you end up getting the DE, you should consider doing a little addendum video for Tarzan!

      @@MoonsideResident So I bought an EZ Flash Def Edition for the rumble feature. However, when I boot up Tarzan GBC, the game doesn't load. I just get a black screen. Is there any way you can email me your file of Disney's Tarzan so I can test the rumble feature myself, or send me the link where you got it? I might have an older or different version of the ROM. ive been hunting for the whole collection for about 6 years now. I can say my fav game of the collection is Star Wars racer as the multiplayer link mode is a lot of fun.

      Star Wars Ep 1 Racer is one of the better Rumble enabled GBC games, especially if you can play link mode with another human.

    My favorite was taking the Gameboy color Legend of the River King 2 ROM and making it Rumble with the Gameboy ROM Analyzer. You set the cartridge type to 1EH and fix the header and play it on the Pow Kiddy V90 after you firmware update it. After you Etch and Partition it it works great. The Data is all there from the Japanese version so all you need to do is enable it. Nushi Tsuri Adventure-Kite no Bouken English patch with Luna is great too for Gameboy Color. The Pow Kiddy V90 has stereo sound as well so that's a plus.

      Correct. It was released as "Polaris Snocross" here in the States but simply "Snocross" in other regions. Most likely because of licensing, but it is essentially the same game. The AI will always smoke you though so it is frustratingly unbalanced. But the 3D vehicles are nicely rendered.

    • @ZackGaz
      @ZackGaz  2 роки тому +2

      Thanks for watching and the comment. This video took a long time to make.
      Yes, the original GBA and GBA SP models are backwards compatible with GB and GBC games. So if you play any of these Rumble Pak GBC games in a GBA or GBA SP, the Rumble will work.
      However, the GB Micro is not backwards compatible with GB/GBC carts so that will obviously not work.
      Finally, you can play these Rumble Pak games in a Gamecube Gameboy Player but the rumble won't transfer through a Gamecube controller or anything like that - it will literally shake your Gamecube if you leave the Rumble function activated.

      @ZackGaz  2 роки тому +1

      @@kmika7e7 There were some cool and underappreciated Wii-DS connectivity features. When the Wii's Nintendo Channel was still active, you could download DS demos to your DS through your Wii.
      The other big one that comes to mind is FINAL FANTASY CRYSTAL CHRONICLES: ECHOES OF TIME. This game has multiplayer cross-platform WiFi capabilities which was really cool. Doesn't seem like many players took advantage of this cool feature though. Playing the same game on your DS with your buddy that is on a Wii is insanely cool if you ask me.

    • @kmika7e7
      @kmika7e7 2 роки тому +1

      @@ZackGaz yes the FF crossplay case is very unique given the hardware difference in terms of power. My experiments have been pretty hit and miss. I succeeded pairing my 3Ds (Castlevania Order of Ecclesia) with the wii (Castlevania Judgement) unlocking hidden content for both sides. I also managed to draw a custom face with my 3ds (here with the Download Play Mode) and trasnfer It to Big Beach Sports on the Wii. OTOH I failed trying to pair both consoles with Batman Brave and the Bold or Ultimate Band, wifi seems to disconnect once I execute the DS mode, maybe it's cause I'm using a 3ds..?
      Couldn't find the pairing option in Driver San Francisco either; I assume it's explained in the manual but I didn't find a PDF copy on the net.
      As you can see there's some field for exploration as in your current GBA series 😁. I don't know if you have a spare Wii around but if you decide to cover the DS-Wii connectivity issue would be much appreciated since the sources adressing this are very scarce.

    Strangely, over half of these were either not released in Europe or, even more interestingly, got rumble-less European releases; I don't know why this would be, though: do Europeans really resent using batteries compared to Americans? I had top gear pocket, vigilante 8, and perfect dark as a kid. Perfect dark was fun, but a bit too challenging for me as a kid and I think I lost interest when it got tough. The story, or lack of it, might have also lost me. Top gear pocket was a bit repetitive and short. The car movement also wasn't convincing; it looked like a stationary sprite that just rotated, and once I saw that I couldn't unsee it. I think i finished the game though. Looking at Vigilane 8 now, it looks like it would be super fun, and car combat is probably my favorite game genre of all time... however, I remember playing and all I could think was, "This is bad! How could it be this bad?!" LOL. The controls made it hard to steer and hit people properly and you'd run into things on the courses so turning around to hit them was tough. Maybe as an adult, my opinion on these would change, but as a kid that's what I thought.

    • @ZackGaz
      @ZackGaz  7 місяців тому

      Thanks for watching and the comment.
      When I made this video, I realized that all these Rumble Pak games are maybe average at best. Perfect Dark is more impressive than good just because it uses every hardware feature of the GBC. But like you said, it is overly difficult in spots.
      As mentioned in my video, Vigilante 8 would actually be a pretty decent game if twin-stick controls were implemented because it is nearly impossible to move and shoot with any sort of accuracy.
      And basically all the racing games are just not that great. Star Wars Ep1 Racer isn't terrible but also gets super hard quickly. Pokemon Pinball might be the most fun GBC Rumble Pak compatible game but the sequel on GBA was much better.

      @@jimmydiggincats I never tried it so I cannot say for sure. However, part of me thinks it might not work because I think there is a very small difference in black carts vs clear carts at the bottom... so when inserted into a GB, GBP, GBC, or GBA, it knows what type of game it is and if can play on that system. So if you take the innards of a GBC game and put them in a black GB cart, I want to say it won't work. Again, not 100% but that would be my guess.

      WarioWare Twisted and Drill Dozer are great games and the rumble build into those carts worked well. I also made a video comparing DS Rumble Pak carts if you wanted to check that out: ua-cam.com/video/ohd1r1xHjCY/v-deo.html
      Thanks for watching and the comment.
