I actually did a double feature of that and the shockingly great Zoe Kravitz-directed/Channing Tatum and Naomi Ackie starring Blink Twice, back in August!
Once again picked up something while getting an oil change at the Mega Lo Mart last Saturday. The Bionic Woman, the complete series. Forty- Seven hours of nanananana... Got through disc 1, which is the Six Million Dollar Man cross over episodes. Just starting disc 2. It's pure comfort viewing for me. Looking forward to the Bigfoot episodes.
Looking forward to finally seeing The Substance! I loved the director‘s previous film, Revenge. Anyone who hasn’t watched that one, go see it, it’s excellent.
This ep - worth it for Chris and Davey on Terrifier 3. 😆not seen it, won't bother but to hear them praise it on one hand and say it's still awful on the other - hilarious.
As far as classics go, I've recently rewatched A Nightmare on Elm Street, Gremlins, Dawn of the Dead (2004), The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, and Beetlejuice. And I've seen the new Beetlejuice(x2) three times already! Other new films besides Beetlejuice Beetlejuice include Terrifier 3, Smile 2, and Demi Moore and Margaret Qualley's fucked up but amazing new film The Substance!
Didn’t watch as much as I planned to during Halloween week. However I did rewatch my two favourite Hitchcock films, The Man Who Knew Too Much (1934) and Notorious (1946).
Another cool show. I still can't believe Halloween is over. It came up fast on me this year. I watched the original Underworld with Kate Beckinsale on Halloween this year. I have been watching that one the last couple Halloweens after I bought the DVD. But I still love the fall and harvest time to watch these type of movies. Rock on!
Funny story about "The Beast with Five Fingers." My mom had this memory about seeing a movie called "The Crawling Hand" and being scared of it as a child, so I tracked down the godawful movie with that title from 1963 on dvd. About twenty minutes into watching it she goes, "I don't think this is the right movie." Eventually I figured out she meant "The Beast with Five Fingers," from her description of the piano scene, and that is indeed a much better movie, with Peter Lorre at his gloriously hammiest. "Abigail" is good fun, but the ending goes on forever. Also, this is the only movie I can think of where I thought the cursing was excessive. So many f-bombs from the bad guy. Jesus. Watched "Funeral Home" or "Cries in the Night" or whatever it's called on Shudder the other day. Pretty fun early '80s fare with minimal gore and a shameless "Psycho" rip-off ending. "Bad Moon," a werewolf flick with a kick-ass opening where the wolf interrupts a bang-session and devours the naked chick. Unfortunately it goes downhill for a long while after that. Mariel Hemingway is so bad in this too. Something called "Abandoned" on Netflix with Emma Roberts and Michael Shannon that you should all avoid, because it sucks bigly. "Trap," which is the latest underwhelming M. Night film with Josh Hartnett as secretly a serial killer taking his daughter to a popstar concert and trying to avoid the cops in attendance. The lack of tension is impressive. If there was a twist I can't remember what it was. "Godsend" with Greg Kinnear and Rebecca Romijn as grieving parents who are sad because their son got hit by a bus, but then a doctor played by Robert De Niro approaches them (AT THE FUNERAL!) saying he can clone the dead kid, which works for a while, but once the new version reaches the age the old version died at things start going terribly wrong, because it turns out the doctor had evil intentions. In conclusion, "The Incredible Melting Man" is amazing.
I wonder if the guys have ever heard of Sir Graves Ghastly. He was a host of of a tv show that showed scary/spooky and macabe movie here in Michigan. Saturday matinees. People would send in drawings and they would show them with spooky music playing. I saw a lot of cool and spooky movies watching that as a kid.
Fun fact- back in 2011 I did a comic book series with James Wan for Boom Studios. The title of the series was MALIGNANT MAN and initially James wanted to turn it into a film. But then it morphed into MALIGNANT which has nothing to do with the original comic series.Too bad.
Hi Davey, usually I'm with you on Hollywood changing bleak endings of great foreign films to happy endings in their remakes, remember the great Dutch classic Spoorloos (US title of the original and the useless remake: The Vanishing). However, having watched the original Speak No Evil in a movie theater and having had sleepless nights after that overly bleak and brutal ending (having kids around the same age as the kids in the movie made things even worse), I was kind of praying for a (at least) happier ending. When I first heard of the remake I thought I would not watch that shit again, but with a new ending I might see it on streaming after all now.
I will always defend Blumhouse. And their version of Speak No Evil is much more tense and much more entertaining than the original and the altered ending does not change the meaning of the film. And the dialogue /''why are you doing this to us?"" ""Because you let us''/ is absolutely brilliant.
I watched 3 horrors last week. I watched Cobweb, which was an okay watch once. The twist was too predictable, and i hate the odd exposition dump. The Hidden, another watch once, where the twist wasnt as prdictable as Cobweb, but still predictable. The twist had a bit more of a payoff but how they hid the twist was silly. And Night of the Lepus. Great cast on a silly movie that was the best time ive had watching a horror in a long tome
Terrifier franchise is a huge disappointment for me. I love practical effects but unfortunately they appear to be written by a hack sadist. One dimensional villain and far too cruel.
Every Blumhouse movie is better than The City Of The Living Dead where actors act like in a bad German porno movie, dubbing sucks, the soundtrack must have been written by the half-deaf kid and special effects are so bad that I couldn't stop laughing.
@@kowalsolosolo I watched tons of horror in the '80s...it was the decade of low budget craziness, and the Italians did splatter like no other. Way more exciting to me than much of the safe stuff that Blumhouse does, and I like a lot of their films.
Thanks Davey bro for picking ones we'd asked for. Hope we can get more new reviews focused on one film in 2025. Not as many as used to be.
So close to 100k!!!
Ron Ely R.I.P. Tarzan and Doc Savage.🇺🇲📺🇺🇲
Best horror movie I watched lately was Strange Darling. Bloody brilliant!

I need to see Revenge, but I loved The Substance!
Near the end of Substance grossed out people were laughing. Great film.

Cheers gang, let us know your Halloween season watches too!
Appreciated your gruesome description followed by the airy spring-toned "...it's a christmas film...". I had a chuckle indeed.
I got to see the original Nosferatu twice this past holiday season. I had never seen it before & enjoyed the hell of it.
The King has the power

Just saw Venom: The Last Dance two weeks ago.
Been watching The Penguin TV series, great show so far.
Completed Agatha: All Along last week.
Less than an hour? Christmas came early for Chris I guess

I've been watching Davey's Hammerween. A bit behind. It's a great series and his reviews have been excellent,
The Substance blew me away. This movie is INSANELY good! Absurd, grotesque, silly, gross, brilliant.
Cry of a Prostitute is awesome. From the same genius who directed Strip Nude For Your Killer and Burial Ground.
I think I liked both of those better though.
LONGLEGS A NEW CLASSIC. NUFF SAID.

Wow they really are putting out A LOT of ..just random stuff on 4K.😲
Jamie's been going hatless. Davey has horns.
Jamie, did you pick up the Criterion version of Happiness?? I remember you talking about your old dvd copy looking like crap
You guys should watch Abigail it's my favorite vampire movie and my favorite movie of this year.
it was talked about...

The penguin is great and we watched the first episode of “ from” on paramount tonight. Creepy and intriguing

Mia Goth deserved an Oscar Nom for PEARL.NUFF SAID.
Dan Brown's presence is necessary.
Shout out Dan!
I wanna see Avengers Endgame from Disney and the Marvel Cinematic Universe so bad! Do any of you like that movie from 2019?

Night of the Lepus! LOL
Watch on a double feature with Food of the Gods.😁😂
@maxthepupp I want to see it, but haven't yet.
Abigail,Melissa Bearer, Hot,Sticky,and Sweet!NUFF SAID.
Abagail was a good movie. I'm surprised it didn't get much attention.
Saw the new Salem's lot it was pretty decent. But disappointed I missed out on Trick Or Treat.
How did Davey grow gold horns?
Hearing from Davey that Speak No Evil tacks on a happy ending makes me not interested, the original was great.
I actually still dug it. James McAvoy is amazing!
However, I will say how shocked I was that the director gave it a happy ending, as it's the same dude who directed Eden Lake!
Doc Savage was THE MOST shitty movie I saw when I was a kid.
Loved the old pulp paperbacks... Ugh. So godawful.
But RIP Ron Ely🙏
Terrifier franchise is a huge disappointment for me. I love practical effects but unfortunately they appear to be written by a hack sadist. One dimensional villain and far too cruel.
Heretic. Hugh Grant's finest hour.
I'm seeing that later this afternoon.
ODDITY was another interesting title this year - a VERY weird film. But VERY interesting and creepy as HELL.
The remake of the MANIAC is way more intelligent than the original.
Every Blumhouse movie is better than The City Of The Living Dead where actors act like in a bad German porno movie, dubbing sucks, the soundtrack must have been written by the half-deaf kid and special effects are so bad that I couldn't stop laughing.
Every? LOL! While like like some Blumhouse films, City of the Living Dead is an '80s classic from a master of Italian horror.
@@seaoftranquilityprog Yeah,I know what you mean. But I find the classic italian horrors unwatchable. At least most of them.
