- Here's the 1/72 scale Nineball=Seraph kit from Kotobukiya's line of Armored Core plastic models! It's big and packed with detail, but there are a few parts which will require glue.

"You have earned the title: Ninebreaker"
You have been bestowed the greatest gift given to any Raven
OPS INTENSIFY INTENSIFIES
Speaking of~ I have the Plum Cloud Breaker kit in my stash as well too
@@ZakuAurelius Yes! I'd love to see a review of that kit!
The nine ball seraph is the final boss in Armored Core Master of Arena. Its not an AC its a special unit nine ball upgrades to after being defeated in one of the story missions. Turns out nine ball is an AI and its AC was being mass produced. In AC 1 you shutdown the AIs main computer but turns out it managed to download itself to the Nine Ball Seraph unit and continues to operate until defeating it as the final boss.
Thanks for the info!
MY CHILDHOOD!!!
Nineball in Armored Core franchise is basically the main antagonist on Gen1 (PS1) Armored Core games. They also appears on other AC games or even on other games. Theres actually 3 types of Nineball kits. The Crest CR-C98E2 Nineball is Gen3 (Late PS2 era) AC, Nine Ball Armored Core Ver. is Gen1 and lastly Nineball Seraph basically the true final upgraded boss version of Gen1.
Master of Arena
It's also in another century
Target Verified!, Commencing Hostilities! The very first time I'd faced Nine Ball Seraph, Was in Armored Core 2: Another Age. (Never managed to get a copy of Armored Core: Master of Arena)
I've got to admit despite the obvious frustration over it constantly falling apart it was also kinda funny how the sighs got a little louder and more annoyed as time went on. Quite a hand grenade we have here.
In my experience, all Armored Core kits are hand grenade
Still waiting for Fromsoftware to actually care about the franchise again, Armored Core is the still the dream game for mecha fans 🥲🤖
Speaking of them, I'd love a Bloodborne 2.
Watch there be a unit shaped like Siegmeyer of Catarina in all his oniony glory.
I mean, they did put out that monster 20th anniversary OST box a couple years ago. 20 CDs worth of AC goodness. I pity the people who missed it. It's going for stupid money now.
@Churro Ninja wow such an original comment
@Churro Ninja** sarcasm **
Seeing that the Kotobukiya is bringing back Armored Core Kits, I hope they’ll bring back this awesome one!
Reissues have been confirmed!
Bandai is also releasing a couple crossover kits for AC6 in their 30 Minute Missions line to play with 30MM and AC's shared customization aspects
HOLY SHIT FINALLY
I *LITERALLY* CANNOT FIND ANY REVIEWS ABOUT THIS KIT
I LOVE YOU
"Target verified. Commencing hostilities"
The lack of holding hands is consistent in that the Nineball Seraph has no hand carried weapons, they were all built-in. This guy was the final boss of the last PSX game, Master of Arena; the player could not replicate it like they could the normal Nineball since it uses entirely unique parts. It also cameos in Armored Core 2 Another Age as a bonus boss fight as well as in Another Century's Episode: R (an action series conceptually similar to Super Robot Wars also made by From Software just like Armored Core)
I'm not sure if it's correct but I noticed that he installed the arm cannons backwards and missed them completely, which bugs me.
@@patrykjaskowski4226how dud it feel to get bugged by something, yet you were totally wrong?
But where are they? I can see the nozzle on the wrist is likely for the built in moonlight blades but apparently there are also machine guns and pulse guns somewhere in there
anyone here because of Armored Core 6?
Yup
Bro you are easily the best gunpla reviewer on UA-cam.
Thanks!
I love armored core, but it seems the loose parts is a given with this kits. But you have to admit it looks really good
The 4 answer kits are pretty good im super happy with the stasis kit
You have to treat AC kits like statues. A lot of mistake that people make when moving from Gundam to AC is that they think Koto kits are more durable, but they're not. Koto kits are really fragile and for that fragility, you get some of the best color part separation and detail on plastic. I started on AC kit and then moved onto Gundam so even with Gunpla I still treat them with care like if they were AC kits.
Well, thats just kotobukiya for ya.
Also another note for the early AC kits, apparently the joints do *not* last long at all until it becomes loose.
Yeah, not fun. But AC kits/figures are a rarity since its kindofa niche genre amongst mechas (Like Votoms & Front Mission) so...
P.S; Tho i have to admit, i only have one 3rd-Gen AC kit; Cascade Range (BlackJack) from ACLRs VR arena. (Which is actually shown in the vid @ 1:44, right next to Seraph)
But even then i am familiar with how fragile they are. Kinda speaks for itself :/
Or maybe thats just because it was an oooold, out of production kit. Newer kits might be better (Like the Glint and whatever those are from AC5/VD)
P.P.S; Also, idk if its just Cascade Range, but it seems like they have unnecessary complexity and a PLETHORA of *reeally* small parts. For seemingly no reason at all...
Not fun (2)
@@rinjaniii326 I'm an old school AC fan myself. I prefer Gen 1 to Gen 3 (PS1-PS2 era) AC designs over Gen 4 and Gen 5 designs.
Why am I just now finding this channel
This mech be like "Am I not turtly enough for the turtle club? Turtle turtle turtle."
Actually Zaku, the color part separation is accurate to its color design in game and in line art. I dunno about you, but the mixture of Red, Black, Gold, and Gray really balance each other out.
I get that but just don’t find it appealing. Between the three colors it’s like a 60/20/20 mix, I prefer more like 60/30/10
Nineball Seraph is the final boss from Armored Core Master of Arena for the PS1. It has NOTHING to do with the other "normal" Nineball kit other than the name lol and DAMN I WISH I could buy that for only $80.
Armored Core Mecha do not have markings of any kind, unlike Ver.Ka Mobile Suits, so it's accurate that it doesn't have any, as Shoji Kawamori the Mecha designer for the franchise doesn't add those kinds of stuff.
No accesories because all of Seraph's weapons are internal. And yeah Kotobukiya kits from that era (be they Armored Core or Super Robot Wars) have very limited poseability in favor of model accuracy. They're also pretty fragile, sadly. They make for great display pieces, but they are NOT toys like most Gunpla are.
Another AC kit that "transforms" is White Glint, specifically the Movie Version with the V.O.B. Unit.
You gotta be REALLY CAREFUL with them as to not break them, unlike the skullman and his monkey handling of White Glint.
Technically speaking the nineballs are related the OG is the nineball seraph, the Nineball standard AC is just the "downgraded" arsenal of the Seraph by using "standard" AC parts (you can get the weapons but the AC itself is custom) by no means its a downgrade though as the Pilot of both units is still Hustler One, the AC2 arsenal of the ordinary nineball and seraph are more or less the same, Moonlight blade, Multi missile, Pulse machine gun on the palms and a rapid grenade launcher when in "jet" form, the only thing it deviates is the ACE:R incarnation where it has a laser cannon rather than perhaps a grenade launcher
That sigh as the forearm fell off said everything I need to know about this kit lol. Sweet looking model tho.
PTSD* kicks in... his hands are the weapons
Thank you for reviewing Armored Core kits with more open minded and chill. Also most importantly this review handle it with *Gentle and Care.* Unlike _that ytber_ who treat AC kit like child toy. I know kotobuki kits is not sturdy as more experience and quality like Bandai. But please, not all kits are sturdy pvc figures or treat like cheap child toy that you found on market -_-
I know of that review (white glint VOB), hurts to think that kits potential will never be realized...
May i ask who that person is? lol
@@rinjaniii326 I believe there talking about mechagaikotsu who swing a AC leg down with force While saying its so delicate
@@MrCarlos9367 Yip. I saw that already couple of hours ago.
And well, he does have his reasons on saying that its....pretty bad.
Heck not even my old out of production Cascade Range kit was anywhere near how bad Glint's kit was. From the colors and just pure rigidity. And im pretty much a caveman in terms of kit building skills/handling compared to him
Then again, i guess we have to consider that this is (afaik) coming from someone who has probably spent most of his time with high-end bandai kits, so his "rage" is kinda understandable lol
Tho he did go overboard with how he handled that leg part i think. He just "cranked" the whole leg just to show off the feet, no wonder it snapped 🤣
Also you have to remember that this is Koto kits were talking about, so yeah...
Imma need sum coffee
I would try UCR-10/A Vengeance from Armored Core V as it is a bit more solid in terms of overall design. Nineball is from an early line of AC kits, all of which are a bit more finicky than your average gunpla kit. You still have to be careful with some of the joint parts, but other than that, you can drop it from 6 ft and it'll be fine.
The Front Mission box has been teasing me ever since it popped on your shelf. I would love to hear your opinion on those kits.
Built them last weekend and will review soon!
I still have ptsd of Nine ball seraph rekt me with moonlight in ac2aa
As an Armored Core fan Iv always loved this design as a kit I still love it But!! It NEEDs love!! but still looks sexy as a design
Build it, admire it, showcase it, never touch it
Oh man, AC kit! It's nearly impossible to get in here :(
Most older Kotobukiya plamo are really hard to get, cuz they won't do any reissue
I just snapped up my Perun Hanged-Man AC kit, overall not bad. I’d agree, the lack of good articulation are the main weakness, and the frailty.
Once glued and painted will look awesome though. Maybe they’ll redo the game and Kotobukiya will reprint these kits...oh, and the spare 1/144 Bandai Hazel II/Woundwort hands uses a similar post connector that fit perfect as a nice hand swap on mine
I definitely want to get that Crest Nineball one day.
I have two
ZakuAurelius the thing about AC is that pretty can create your own mech, those that are named like 9 ball are story npc
Thank you for your honest review as always!! 🙏🏽🙏🏽👍👍
6:21 "I does". Indeed he do
I really want an AC kit but they're all out of stock and the few being sold online are expensive :p
Ooh super curious, i thought about getting one of these but I took too long and their out of print now and gone everywhere :')
Edit: DANG this thing looks great :0 I can live with glueing a couple things on. if I ever see one for a normal price or it gets a rerelease in the future im getting one for sure. But im definitely not paying more than msrp for it though, doesnt seem to be worth that either :p
Thanks a lot for the review zack!
(Ps: that transformation doesnt do it for me either :p)
I don’t know if you already know but there’s a re release and you can preorder off usagundam
11:31 that’s one big fly lol
Personally I really wanted this kit for long time but never got it, since its pretty rare and more expensive that master grade. Despite flaw of this kit, for me is like holy grail since AC series is my best game of my life. Maybe someday I will get it after I have a lot of money.
its worth it
I wish someone of the great reviewers would do a medabot kit
the advance of zeta and medabots are made by the same artist by the way
I think krow might have.....
I would love Kotobukiya to reprint their Medabot model kits again. Missed out on Metabee when he came out, and now he being asked for at ludicrous prices.
Nineball Seraph: Target verified, Commencing hostilities!
I loved this game and Nineball was a epic boss ... I want this kit!
At 11:31 you can see the new armor jettisoning feature Kotobukiya used on the kit.
Seriously, this thing looks cool but seems to be a hand grenade. Better get that glue ready before building it.
I'd love to see reviews for more of the kits of older AC designs like this, the stuff from the PS1 and PS2 era is my favorite. I only ever played the PS2 games, the mecha designs of the later games and the significantly more "super robot" abilities in comparison to the previous games turned me off.
I got the fascinator assembled this weekend and this will probs be my next target or ill wait for the new models
how are there 3 model kits of 3 different nineball unit and no annilhilator
This model looks amazing!
Haven't played this game but the mechs look good. Also, there was that mecha musume girl that represented the series. Kinda looked like the Master Chief.
I would paint the gold. Other than tht it looks good
Man I want this so bad
If there's one thing Kotobukiya does better than Bandai here, it's the color for the Gold runners.
Nice teddy fresh drip
I can't believe how much you look and sound like Miniac, y'all should do a collab painting a gundam
Do all white people look and sound similar to you? They're nothing alike lol
You should review the 1/72 scale Xenoblade X Formula kit well of you can get your hands on it. I have and love it alot. It also transforms and it's a full transformation (no parts swapping if you use the alt parts on the kits's wrist that are needed for the vehicle mode
Fyi the white glint ACFA kit transforms but dont get it (doubt you will get anymore AC kits), It will make you hate the variable infinity AC model kits even tho white glint ACFA is the only one that has the problems.
The shape of its head and chest reminded me of the Zedas R.
Have you got plans to do any more? I preordered all the rereleases, theres like at least 1 a month for the first 6 months of the year.....
Already did the gaea, uranus, and got the white glint, but theres gonna be more
"Char's 9Ball Custom"
That Owsla tease.....
Starting to build that tonight
You can hear the frustration
I'm currently starting on the arms for this kit. I can't get the A11 and A 8 pieces with the J10s in place to snap together all the way. Top snaps together but bottom will not. Everything is snapped together tight. Any advice?
I wish I can send you my white glint VOB so you can paint and review it properly, it's pretty much the only AC kit with a full sheet of waterslides.
Yeah, I think that’s more to do with the kits being accurate to the games. AFAIK none of the opening cinematics for any of the games showed warning labels or other small details like that on ACs.
@@Brawler_1337 Yea, I guess so, some of the kits do have parts with the Raven's emblem on their shoulder pieces
God damn i want it
It looks pretty fragile, do yoy have any advice on how to stiffen the joints? Thank you!
This gives me some sinanju/nightingale/sazabi vibes
I think I got a few AC kits somewhere I need to build.....
I've always liked this kit every time I see it over the years, but never enough to get it. But seeing the box art now... It's super dumb, it's just box art, I'm gonna forget about it the moment I start nipping parts off the runners, but... god damn it, marketing is doing some damn good work...
Yeah, it looks awesome but while I was building mine it felt like a hand grenade in the making.
When are you going to build & review the *"Armored Core: Nine Breaker"* version of Nineball?
The Nineball you reviewed came from the *"Another Century's Episode: R"* crossover game.
technically no this is the OG NB Seraph as the ACE:R Seraph has the Drone? or Exceed Units wing binders on the shoulder
Before Another Century's Episode: R came, there was Armored Core: Master of Arena where Nine-Ball Seraph appeared first.
This make me remember about nirvash type zero can you review the model kit or robot Spirits? And i prefer the spec 2 version Then the first one and the robot spirits it's more better version but The model kit version it's still an Okay kit
*FUCKING.FINALLY*
Im probably the minority, but i like watching reviews of less popular/obscure kits than the usual popular kits 😅
Since it's these kind of kits that are hard to find info about.
Understandable! So I try to do both 😉
Gerd gang!
Armored core is one of my favorite franchise too bad from software don't seem to be interested on making them thank God for daemon ex machina
Was it even good? I heard it was so easy that there was no real thought that had to be put into customization
Is there anyone else that see a lot of similarity with the Anime "Big O" with this Core?
11:31 yeet lol
would you like to meet our lord and savior cement glue
Nine Ball in a nutshell: the Char clone of the Armored Core universe.
no
Char would probably drool on this AC 😅
far from it....
Where do you buy pbandai kits
YAY
Most hardest boss in armored core ps1
Looks like saviour 😆😆😆
do the people who make these model kits even build it themselves before they send it out to the public? lol im sure if they do they would realize paarts are too loose >.>
Do you have any clue how plastic manufacturing works? Im guessing not by your answer haha. Getting those hundreds of parts to fit correctly is harder than youd think.
Immagine this: kotobukiya is in japan and their factory is in china. The designer in japan designs the modelkit and then the first tests get made in china and send to japan. Meanwhile the people at the factory will be taking a look at the testshots too and, in advance already adjust some stuff. Then the guys in japan get their test print. They test it and then send what they want to adjust back to the chinese factory. Then they aply the adjustments of both to the mold (making a mold costs bandai around 10.000 dollars apparently) and make a new testprint. But the adjustments might cause other issues so they need to make another testshot and this gets repeated a couple times. Then, say they want to make the red plastic slightly more red or something. So they add more/different pigment to the plastic, but that changes the cooling process and how thick or thin the part might end up etc etc etc. Theres a lot more of those kinda things that all affect the fit of the endproduct. All of this takes a lot of time and back and forth communication so they usually can only afford a couple of these test prints per product and then it HAS to go out the door.
You can probably assume bandai "throws a lot more money away" on making lots of test shots and making sure shit fits wel together and because they are such a succesfull company theyve got enough money to make it work like that, not to mention the fact that they have their own factory located in japan. Most other modelkit companies cant afford that luxury.
Armored Core > Gundam
Big Fac- 😲 no way!
this kit was painfull to build :(
Yikes, koto model kits are super fragile
I kinda think this kit is way too much, like you
Said, way too much color separation. And I wouldn’t be happy that there’s no options for holding hands and no weapons. I mean I suppose you could always find some in your spares box but still, a kit of this magnitude should come with some. Other than that, it does looks great and I love its overall size and appearance
Apparently it’s related to the game canon, the mech doesn’t use handheld weapons. I can appreciate companies making the kits according to canon, that’s always interesting, but having something as simple as a set of holding hands would have been nice too, yes
