I have gotten toned at OTF (and I'm about twice your age) by hitting the heavy weight rack. What I love about OTF is that I can get cardio and weights into one workout. It's all how much you challenge yourself with the weights.
I tried OTF for 15 months - I agree with lots of what you said: it's all about the ppl and a sense of belonging. I appreciated the encouragement from the coaches as well. I went from hating to run to not minding - but only in studio lol. Initially, my body responded and I saw some leaning down. However, eventually, my body changed in a way which I didn't like. Coupled with being so hard to book my usual spot during Christmas, I was done with it. Now I'm back at as regular gym until I'm bored with it again.
@@thefitmomlifestyle I like group classes! Not really following any program but I have legs/glutes, back, or shoulder focus days. Since going back to the gym, I have leaned down!
This was super helpful! I'm due in March with my first child and I've been thinking of what I want to try to do after she's here like this Summer/Fall. I've done Pure Barre in the past and loved it but kinda like Orange Theory for you, I didn't see a ton of physical changes, which IS what I'm going for. Right now I've been researching Orange Theory and Cycle Bar. My hesitation with OT is the treadmill/running. It's not my jam lol but it's good to know you can walk it if you need to! I'll probably try the free class of both later this year and decide but anywaysss lol thank you for this video!
Love your workout related videos! Something I want to ask you, do you think a long sleeve shirt for orange theory is ok for winter time? Or would it too hot for indoors? I’m a workout newbie! Thanks !
Thank you so much! I think it's totally up to you! I personally like to warm up in a long sleeve, but I take it off and work out in a tank or sports bra once I warm up. Specifically for OTF, I think you could wear the long sleeve during the lifting portion and maybe even the rower, but I get too hot while running on the treadmill. Hope this helps!
I have been to classes that are 1 hour and then lifting classes that are 45 minutes. I know different studios offer different classes. I'm not sure about buying a used monitor, but that's a good idea.

Completely agree! I'm so glad you have had so much success with OTF! Thanks for watching

Hmm that's really interesting! Thanks for sharing. Do you like group classes? Are you following a program at the gym?

So the entire class is 1 hr long? Can you purchase a used monitor from someone else?

There are a lot of Facebook pages where folks are selling their monitor
