When the first part of tutorial is someone standing in front of a _literal wall of wool_ , you know you've found a good tutorial. I'm relatively new to knitting & crochet, and have been watching a lot of tutorials, and this was awesome!
I was afraid of mosaic style until you explained it with a genteel humor, style and grace. I will watch all of your videos. Thank you for your time and efforts to help us.

hi Tinna... not only is the mosaic crochet addictive as you mentioned .... your personality is so awesomely infectious ... thank you for sharing your skills ....
Thank you for showing this type of crochet stitch !! My mother had made her brother a Queen size blanket of Apache Tears in the late "70's", it was done in Turquoise, Red, Black, Grey, and White it was Beautiful! I never asked my Mom how she did it? Thank you, again for showing the community - how to do this crochet stitch !! I will how be learning this stitch.
Excellent explanation of the beginning and end stitches and their use and function. Those stitches are the most confusing to those new to crocheting and often the cause of uneven row ends. You are such a good instructor.
Jill Stern I always use stitch markers at the beginning and end of many projects. This really helps me keep track of edges. The markers are a simple tool with a lot of punch.
@@TinnaThorudottirThorvaldar I'm a complete beginner. It will take me ages to crochet a blanket. Imagine one with that beautiful pattern. I love your art. You hands make master pieces. Sending love from Australia 🎈❤️

Ms. Tinna! Ms. Tinna! Ms. Tinna! I have be crocheting for a while and I still get intimidated by certain patterns since I am self taught. I have been crocheting my whole life and have never done this . So excited to learn a new technique. You are an excellent teacher. Thank you for going through the pattern for all 10 rows. Excited to start something new now!
Thank you so much from someone who has admired mosaic crochet for so long but was never confident enough to try, you have simplified it and made it so easy, a great teacher !
Oh my! I've been crocheting for 30 years: blankets, clothes, amigurumis, tapestry crochet... and I was today years old when I first heard about mosaic crochet!! Thanks YT for suggesting your video and thank you, Tinna, for sharing your knowledge! Your video is full of good vibes and inspiration, I love it!
Your laughter makes me happy. I enjoyed this video. I am glad this is the first video that popped up. I can't wait to show mu niece my first project. She thinks I am the most talented person in the world. I can't wait to teach her too.
Loved this video! I just kept repeating out loud, “I love her!” Thank you for being such a JOYFUL teacher and making something that looks so complicated very accessible to novice crocheters!!!!
Thank you! I have been crocheting for over 40 years and thought I had run out of exciting new projects to do. I inherited my great-grandmother’s hooks and had given up on new ideas. Thank you for a new technique!! I am excited about crochet again!
This is only my third day learning crochet and your tutorial is perfect speed and so easy to understand! You are an amazing teacher thank you so much!!
I have been crocheting over 50 years and have never heard of this type of crochet pattern. How beautiful and easy. For sure don't tell anyone how easy it is! Lol. I absolutely love it. Can't wait till I watch Lesson 2.
Ahaha I know, let’s just keep this as our little secret 😉😂😂🤣 ... and so happy to hear you liked it! Lesson 2 is up and I’m filming lesson 3 tomorrow, so please stay tuned 😘
Patti - I am like you. In all my over 45 years of crocheting have not heard of this. She mentions the 70's that's when I started crocheting. . Hmmm, we are never too old to learn something new, right? 😊
But do tell everyone how easy it is! Share what you have learned just as she has shared with you. Be free with your knowledge, don’t keep it a secret. If you want to be less than, yet only appear better than others, then by all means keep it to yourself, but if you want everyone to increase their knowledge and joy, including yourself, then share, share, share! If you want to learn more, then teach more. I don’t believe in keeping learning and techniques a secret from others. Just as you have been blessed, I hope you share that blessing with others.
My mom is a master crocheter and has been crocheting over 40 years but I have never seen her do these type of patterns. I’m going to surprise her and make something from your videos. These are so beautiful!
I've been crocheting since I was a child thanks to my Grandma teaching me, and this is the first time I have seen or heard of this! Absolutely amazing pattern. I'm already considering using it as a finishing border for a blanket I am close to finishing. I did a test swash while watching in yellow and blue and completely fell in love with it. I already want to start a mosaic blanket! Thanks for sharing!
I know I am late in discovering this video; however, I am SO glad I did! When I became permanently disabled, I really was missing my career as a hospital Maternity/NICU RN. I decided to learn how to crochet via UA-cam videos, and have donated all my items to a hospital nursery and hospice organization. I recently moved across country and I'm getting the itch to be productive again. I was thinking of learning how to knit, but now I am thinking of learning how to do Mosaic Crochet!! Thanks!! I look forward to my first attempt! Thank you for your passion!! 💜 👍
Tinna! This little swatch I've just made with you is now my favorite thing I've crochet EVER! I'm obsessed... or should I say... hooked? Thank you SO much for the tutorial video and for being so adorable and cheerful. It's a blessing being able to learn from you!
Every now and again you find someone who truly inspires you- thank you for this. I’ve been in a crafting funk for a while and this video has inspired me to give this a try! 😊 hugs
Thank you so much Tinna - I thought I couldn’t crochet!! Well, strangely enough my Icelandic Sister in Law, Bryndis taught me about 40 years ago how to make the traditional Scandinavian lace shelf edging but I had forgotten everything 🤦🏼♀️ So, when I found your videos I knew that you had to be the one to remind me ☺️ I learnt such a lot in one evening and now I’m subscribed xx
Wow!! What a crazy coincidence that it’s always us Icelanders teaching you how to crochet!! Ahaha there are so few of us you see! 😉😂❤️ great to hear the video helped, now go forth and conquer my friend 😉😘
I did it! What fun I am having! First time ever laughing while crocheting with a video - especially at Row 9 when you are explaining about the double crochets falling off! I have never before had such a good time following a crochet video! This is the first video I have seen of yours and hopefully you have many more. I have been in a slump with my crocheting and this is the first time I've crocheted since December. Just what I needed to get me excited about crocheting again! Thank you, Tinna! "It's so easy! Let's not tell everybody."
This is truly amazing, I am self taught and I am proud of how far I have come. I saw this type of crochet scrolling through videos and thought there was no way I'd be able to do something this complicated, I don't feel that way now. Thank you so much for your lessons and sweet personality, I think I have finally found my favorite way to crochet. I subscribed to learn more lessons!!
For the last couple of years I wanted to learn the mosaic stitch. Im so glad I came across this video. I can see how it can be addicting to want to crochet this all they time. I've been crocheting for 48 years now. I started when I was 16.

I never knew what this pattern was called. I had a blanket that my grandmother made in this pattern and I always loved it and couldn't wrap my head around how it worked. Thank you! I think it's time to re-create a grandma blanket.

I'm working along with you and my daughter came along and said, "What are you making? That looks complicated." LOL Also, thanks for teaching me a new technical term: Woop-a-duh! Never heard it before but I immediately knew what it meant. It seems to apply to a lot of other areas besides crochet.

When the first part of tutorial is someone standing in front of a _literal wall of wool_ , you know you've found a good tutorial. I'm relatively new to knitting & crochet, and have been watching a lot of tutorials, and this was awesome!
😂😂❤️👌🏾😘
I read in a group that you were a good teacher. Agree. You are a very good teacher. Thank-you

Josie Marrero she’s so nice and friendly
hi Tinna... not only is the mosaic crochet addictive as you mentioned .... your personality is so awesomely infectious ... thank you for sharing your skills ....
❤️🙏🏽❤️
Thank you for showing this type of crochet stitch !! My mother had made her brother a Queen size blanket of Apache Tears in the late "70's", it was done in Turquoise, Red, Black, Grey, and White it was Beautiful! I never asked my Mom how she did it? Thank you, again for showing the community - how to do this crochet stitch !! I will how be learning this stitch.
Excellent explanation of the beginning and end stitches and their use and function. Those stitches are the most confusing to those new to crocheting and often the cause of uneven row ends. You are such a good instructor.
Yay!! That makes me so happy to hear!! Thank you so much for your support and encouragement ❤️🙏🏽❤️
Jill Stern I always use stitch markers at the beginning and end of many projects. This really helps me keep track of edges. The markers are a simple tool with a lot of punch.
I wholeheartedly agree!
Love this! I can't wait to have a go. Just gorgeous
i completely agree with everything you said here. i think she is a fantastic teacher.

Tinna, "Alleluia", finally beginners mosaic crochet from in my opinion, the best teacher. I must say I woke up this morning down and out with this virus " nation stand still" and when I opened my cell phone, your first beginners class popped up. Thank you so much for your support ❤️ I’m so happy to hear you liked it 🙏🏽❤️😘
Same!!! I’ve seen it and was never interested but I’m so bored with everything lately!
Sounds like a great plan! ❤️ go forth and conquer … and pass it along ✨❤️
❤️❤️❤️
This is only my third day learning crochet and your tutorial is perfect speed and so easy to understand! You are an amazing teacher thank you so much!!
That makes me very happy to hear 🫶🏽 thank you for the encouragement ❤️ and good luck with your crochet!!! 😘
You are an awesome teacher! You don’t go to fast. Nor to slow. I love this mosaic stitch. Thank you so much!!
I'm like that too. Did my first crochet at school in the 1960s but never saw this technique before
But do tell everyone how easy it is!
❤️❤️❤️
OMG, I'm just at the 5th minute of this video and I'm in love with your laughter!! And have to pause and leave this massage!!
Bwaaahahaha that’s so sweet!! Thank you so much for your support ☺️🙏🏽❤️ ... and a girl has got to have some fun while working right?!! ❤️‼️💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻
Wanted to say the same. So contagious. :) Just brightens your day, doesn't it?
Thank you so much for your support ❤️❤️❤️
As a left handed crocheter I greatly appreciate you explaining how it can be done left handed aswell.
Every now and again you find someone who truly inspires you- thank you for this. I’ve been in a crafting funk for a while and this video has inspired me to give this a try! 😊 hugs
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️💃🏻

❤️❤️😂😘
My sentiments exactly. Loved the video
Yeahhhh that was by me also.. all the boring stuff you didnt even learn what i lerarendag today..
Me too hon x
For the last couple of years I wanted to learn the mosaic stitch. Im so glad I came across this video. I can see how it can be addicting to want to crochet this all they time. I've been crocheting for 48 years now. I started when I was 16.
Thank you for the clear and patient way you showed how to do this. I really like your use of it for the simple little colorful bag!
I’ve been on UA-cam for years and I’ve never known about the 3 dots and being able to change speed of video. Thank you for teaching me something else on top of crochet mosaic.

I love and am fascinated by mosaic crochet. I had no idea how to do it. Now I do! Thank you so much for such clear instructions. 😊
I never knew what this pattern was called. I had a blanket that my grandmother made in this pattern and I always loved it and couldn't wrap my head around how it worked. Thank you! I think it's time to re-create a grandma blanket.

One of the clearest and certainly most entertaining tutorials; it had me chuckling away even though I wasn't in the best form when I started 😂 Learning really can be fun, thank you so much! 😊
I just did your beginner Mosaic Crochet class with you, and I'm truly delighted! I've been crocheting for over 50 years, and I can't believe I've never tried this style. It looked like it had to be so hard -- and it's not! Thank you so much for this video! (Now I need to find the next one!)
I'm working along with you and my daughter came along and said, "What are you making? That looks complicated." LOL Also, thanks for teaching me a new technical term: Woop-a-duh! Never heard it before but I immediately knew what it meant. It seems to apply to a lot of other areas besides crochet.
Duuude I keep watching this and I’m so excited to try it! I’m making a giant chunky blanket for my mom rn and it only has one beautiful color. I’m so stoked to try this with blacks and yellows and oranges for fall 🍁 thanks for sharing! You’re my hero!

I just need to find names of all the different designs on your afghan.
Because i noticed the Apaches Tears but also few others on there also.
Thank you again so very much. ❤❤❤

I clicked on this randomly because I was having a mild panic attack that felt like it would escalate pretty fast, and I was hoping a nice tutorial would help me calm down. It did that very nicely, so thank you! Also, your laugh makes me feel so much better, so thank you for that, and also also, your nails are fabulous
Ahaha well thank you so much ❤️ and I’m so happy this helped ❤️😘😘
Girrrl! Me too! I got bronchitis and am currently on the verge of panic because I’m having trouble breathing and in this current climate you can see why I’m scared. My anxiety tends to lean towards health anxiety

Same to you! Panic attacks suck but it’s good to know I’m not alone with the pain. Mine come on unannounced and sometimes it’s late at night when everyone else is sleeping comfortably and I have no one to “ground” me, to bring me back to reality. That’s when I find videos like this to help me, also I’m a huge crocheter of course. Lol It’s currently 4:54 am in my state in American and I haven’t been to sleep yet. 😖
You made me laugh so much 😂😂😂 " Double Crochet falling down" you are incredible. Thank you for teaching such amazing techniques. 💗💗🤗
