I have my phone rooted with a custom rom, and to run apps that check play integrity and/or root i had to install a magisk module. But all the apps that check integrity are banking apps, etc.(which is way harder on lineage). So now that I think about it - maybe tablets are better than phones for LineageOS. Thanks for the video, it's great!
I just find one of these at cca and i bought it because a friend from my childhood have one and i remember it as a pretty cool tablet so i'm gonna load her with ps1 gameboy and n64 games 😅
Ahah nice ! Yeah back then, it was awesome but it still is ! Very good idea to use it as a gaming device for the best games ever made !! ahah If you like the video, don't forget to subscribe ! thanks
People have started more and more of these customizable tablets because the market has just blocked almost all ways of softmodding the latest devices. I have a wide array of these pre-2020 devices waiting for their moments to shine.
I had the first Google Nexus phone in 2012. The one I had had a faulty camera; I got a replacement in the end but ended up selling it for a reasonable price as the phone was in high demand! The software was great, and I really enjoyed the phone. The main issues for me were the throttling of the processor when I did too much on the phone and poor battery life (I had the screen dimmed most of the time to get through the day). For the price and quality of the software, a great phone at the time.
You mean the Nexus 4 or the Galaxy Nexus ? I had the Nexus S (dec 2010) and the Nexus 4 (2012) and they were amazing devices even though I had the screen replaced on the Nexus S due to a failure of the LCD panel. Nexus were always a good choice :-)
@@TechNbags It was the Nexus 4, a great phone, but the camera was faulty from day one. It would go weird about 15% of the time. The poor battery life and processor throttling put me off keeping it long-term. I thought I was out of warranty or something-I didn't even know I could replace it easily! There were issues with these phones then, as I remember people complaining about the problems. The software was perfect, and a large-screen phone for back then, esp for the price!
My Nexus 7 is locked to the GOOGLE logo with a padlock below the GOOGLE logo, what do I do? I've tried everything, I even slapped it a few times to see if it worked.
At what stage of the installation were you? Ahah 😅 not sure slapping works 🤔 I can try to help but the real experts are on the XDA forum. So try posting there too.
@TechNbags It's loading perfectly, but when you log in it's locked to the Google screen with a padlock🔒...it's already reset by pressing the buttons, but it goes back to the Google word with a padlock🔒 what do I do? the slaps didn't work!
Ok, sorry I had to ask my expert, here is his answer (not sure it can help) : The padlock 🔒 and Google screen indicate that FRP (Factory Reset Protection) is active. This feature was introduced by Google to prevent unauthorized access after a factory reset. It requires you to log in with the Google account that was previously associated with the device. If you can’t log in, it’s likely because: The correct Google account details weren’t entered. You’re using a different account than the one synced before the reset. A reset was attempted incorrectly, triggering FRP. How to Fix It: Here are a few steps you can try: 1️⃣ Log in with the Previous Google Account Ensure you’re using the email and password of the Google account last synced with the Nexus 7. If you’ve forgotten your password, use Google’s account recovery process (accounts.google.com/signin/recovery) to regain access. 2️⃣ Check for FRP Bypass Options (if you don’t have access to the original account) There are methods to bypass FRP, but they require caution and technical know-how. These steps can vary depending on the Android version. Search for “Nexus 7 2013 FRP Bypass for Android 13” for tutorials or tools specific to your case. Follow instructions carefully, as mistakes can lead to more issues. 3️⃣ Reinstall the Custom ROM or Factory Image If all else fails, you can try reinstalling the ROM or a factory image to wipe the device clean: Reflash the custom ROM you installed (Android 13). If you prefer to start over, download the original Nexus 7 factory image from Google’s archive (developers.google.com/android/images) and flash it using ADB and Fastboot tools. 4️⃣ Consult Forums or Support If you’re stuck, the XDA Developers forum or Reddit (e.g., r/Android) might have specific advice.
@@TechNbags Thanks for the tip, but the biggest difficulty is getting into it, I wanted to understand why it gets a black screen with the name google and the padlock🔒...it's practically a black screen, how can I solve this phase so I can go to the next step?

Its so awesome that you can install such a modern version of Android on an old device like this.
Yes I agree and it also shows that programmed obsolescence and consumption isn't necessary 👍
