A This is a Low vibe here. Love the new album and the video aesthetics. So glad you're back Blur...I've missed you.
Lost in the long grass that may go on forever. Perhaps one day our ancestors will grow tall enough from the pain of this existence to see beyond it's blades, but I feel that future is still on a horizon we have yet to behold. This song wells up such a sadness, but it's a melancholy that is so very, very beautiful.

I don't think it's overt messaging but this album makes me wish I had appreciated the early half of my life while I was living it.
I have listened to this about 100 times more and now I think I know what’s it’s about.
It’s a reflection on what could have happened if the band hadn’t imploded before Think Tank, “many ghosts” of what might have been “many paths” that could have helped prevent the split.
“Away beyond the bends there be songs to play” as the band continues to reunite intermittently to make new music and address the unfinished business of being blur.
“Calmer days” of middle age have mellowed them out but Damon still can’t help looking back and asking “why everything in the world been lost ever since” and wondering what they could have become if they had kept going.
But despite everything that’s happened they continue to seek each other out and make music together “we’re not giving in, we’re not gonna shy away” and even using their troubled history as an inspiration to create new art “we’re growing tall with the pain”
This and Far away Island are both really moving songs. The BOTD may have lacked the immediacy of some of the work they did in their twenties but time will show it to be a classic.

This expresses how I feel. I'm loving the art and the little animations xx Totally loving the songs both instrumentally and lyrically but I feel both sad and inspired listening to it...sad because of the lyrics and inspired because it's just a really good piece of music...especially Goodbye Albert that instrumental and key shifts are brilliant, reminds me of Bowie a bit, it's really arty so I frickin looooooove it ❤

Listened to this about twenty times today. I feel like it might be about what humans as a species are doing to the planet; destroying it in the same way we do to ourselves and each other, and theres only a slim chance that we can still turn it around, but even if we act now it might still be "too late". Don't know if that analysis is accurate though, what do you think?
