Have you ever used psychedelics? Visual snow and increased visual snow is a symptom of mild type 2 HPPD, which is a lot more treatable than visual snow syndrome
It's real as in we are seen it, they are not. It's really there. I've seen it since I was young but recently discovered something I'll be letting out soon but ,,,, it's real
When I stopped using the computer cold turkey after moving to a farm my visual snow completely dissipated, along side the tinnitus (I didn't realize it was gone till I saw posts on fb which reminded me) my gut feeling is that it's related to the blue light coming from the computer monitor. but there is another very unique phenomena related to this, if I am in a room with other people during the night time with absolutely no light. Then they appear to me as dark density static, meaning I can "see" them and animals.
My snow is more like a fast moving rain. The best i can describe it is millions of photons raining down every single second. Its kind of fascinating to look at when you focus on it.
@@brahimsaad6287 It only appears when i focus on it, mostly on darker surfaces. I'm not concerned about it. Was searching what was the cause but funny enough nobody knows, only theories.
@@No_OneV What about floaters do you see a lot of them. i only have two at the edge of my left eye and they're causing me anxiety i also see rain but only in bright environments
@@brahimsaad6287 Almost everybody has floaters, more so later in life, but I find it especially interesting that you see the snow in bright environments, which is the opposite of me.
I can remember having this since I was as young as five years old. Laying in my parents bed one night I asked my mom why there were so many colors in the air at night. My mom probably thought it was just something random a kid would come up with. I had no idea that some people have it worse. I think I pretty much block it out during the day while I'm busy. Doesn't really keep me from enjoying scenery or seem to distort my vision. I just notice at times and can't unsee it in the dark or with my eyes closed.
Same, i have all those symptoms + Tinnitus my entire life and i had no idea that wasnt normal till my 3 year old daughter asked me about it and when i told her it was normal my wife looked at me bewildered.
What you are describing is the norm. In the dark everyone can see it. The difference is that Visual Snow is permanent and has an effect across the entire field of vision, rather than under certain conditions.
I'm a visual snow white cane user. Unfortunately it along with migraines was causing enough issues with my vision, and I kept getting into accidents, I ended up learning to use one (plus the night blindness). So I'm not too sure if it is being over sensitive. I do my best to ignore them, and I'm not getting hurt on purpose... I also require large print to read now because reading regular sized text is slowed down to a crawl.
Thanks for mentioning there is a visual snow simulator. I have it myself but it's always been difficult to describe it to friends and family. The simulator online makes that so much easier, that's great!
clonazepam helps dull the flickering for me. But it does not get rid of the after images. I can't focus on a single object at a time. I think mine was either caused by benzo withdrawal or buspirone.
My visual disturbances/distortions and derealization gradually began when I started going off Effexor. On drugs.com it actually lists some of these symptoms as side effects, but I haven’t taken it for a year now.
I’m 48 now. I’ve seen this my whole life. It has gotten slightly worse over the years, but I’ve been able to deal with it. It’s worse at night. I try to avoid driving after dark. I went to eye doctors when I was young. They couldn’t find anything wrong. When I looked it up about 10 years ago on the internet, I finally found it. I don’t want to take medicine for it. I usually don’t notice unless I think about it or when it’s dark. I’m a artistic person and can figure out shades of color. I treat it as a gift. Where most people see just green, I can see so many different colors. It’s like my mind is breaking a color into different colors. I can see green with hints of blue. Yellow with hints of brown and so on. I know that can be worse for others, if it’s so bad that you can’t see properly and function from day to day, I can truly understand.
Visual snow..floater.When I look at something then I notice how everything seems to be flickering and trembling as if the world around me was vibrating. Anyone else who has this? To me this is definitely not normal but no doctor could help me with it. I also have migraine aura. I am affraid i will lose my vision
I’m not sure if I have the same exact thing, however I do see a lot more light from my “grains” of visual snow than stagnant fog. If I’m staring at a blank wall and there’s a deformity in the wall such as a scuff or bump, it lights up in a rainbow aura and then goes away once I look elsewhere. It almost seems as if I’m able to see the air around me. Wonder if this is similar to your experience!
I have visual snow, and I also used to have epilepsy. After a while of medications and growing up my epilepsy was gone, but I have visual snow to this day. I’m unsure if it’s connected or not.
I've had this my whole life. If I close my eyes,I can still see images, like numbers. My ears also ring. I thought everyone had this. Apparently not. My vision and hearing are good.
If you see an afterimage when your eyes are closed, this is normal. Pathology is if this remains for more than a few seconds. Usually this is up to 1 minute. Don't create problems for yourself.
When I go to a dark room from a daylight bright room, I see kaleidoscopes for some seconds. I can't see the edges or details of the objects in poorly lighted environment and when I focus on something in this poor light my whole vision goes off. It's scary.
I see this since i was born, i think everyone see like that and im scared cuz if i say to my parents they will don t trust my and they will say is because of the phone and i see very normal.
