By Kelsey Peterson
Snow shakes the limbs
but does not break them,
they hold,
laden with white.
The dusting glints
in sunlight, fastens
to the branch, secured with frost.
There is a way to live.
Each evergreen
bearing snow into the blue sky
knows.
At night,
the pines radiate
a grey opaque
in starlight.

i freaking love the 32nd note triplet entrance at the very beginning and in the reprise. it's so genius.
I like the brrrrrm too : )
I got to see him rehearse it with the Fresno State percussion, it was amazing. He's an amazing artist and a really funny man. Michael Burrit is incredible.
It feels amazing knowing that I got to play this piece for indoor, because this man is a great definition of what it means to be a percussionist
I wish there was a solo version available for just the marimba. I can only dream though...
That ending is the stuff dreams are made of.
What a lovely.
What an amazing piece! I got the lucky opportunity to see this piece played by Professor Burritt himself at this year's North Carolina Day of Percussion event. The video showcase is incredible, but there is nothing like hearing this in real life.
I love this piece. I really enjoy the video production too. Feels like a real cool showcase of everyone involved in the piece.
Beautiful... in composition, performance, and videography
Thanks Ryan!
10:00 It's all so beautiful.
This is absolutely beautiful Michael Burritt and Eastman Percussionists. Bravo!!!
This is an absolutely amazing work of art. I saw Dr. Eric Hollenbeck and a percussion ensemble from CSU perform this at the King Center in Denver a few months ago.
Hollenbeck a baller. He was my teacher in undergrad!
I watched a performance of this at CSU yesterday lol. Dr. Hollenbeck was there but didn’t play on it
Ok wait. The whole thing was really good and then the end was FIRE. Very nice.
My heart is following.
Beautiful.

I love how I heard some parts of blue ridge In this (another composition he wrote) but I don’t know using that same phrasing at times made me just feel like I knew what was gonna happen which isn’t a bad thing
Wow he uses the stick end to get different tone.i love marimba ,xylophone i wish o could do this.
Is there a possibility to buy this piece? (CD / file)
black vibe keys?
What mallets did you use for this piece of art?
I'd like to think that this is the first time he's played the song in front of his students and they're just going off him .
What hardness of burritt Mallet is using ?
Maxence Detraz sound like worn in MB8’s to me, but I could be wrong!
酷
All these good vibrations on the wood is making me feel rather naughty. #badpunjoke
Inspirational piece, captivating!
Really don't like this piece.
