I've already spent over $400 for PDR to remove five door dings from my 2018 STi. Of all of them, I think the body side moulding would have saved me from maybe two of the dings. You make it look easy, but I'm not sure I like the look of them in the end. Thanks for the vid though! As always, you do a great job explaining how to do it.
Great video! This was something I was considering on my 2015 Outback 3.6r. I love how to videos because it gives me the opportunity to see how easy or hard something is before attempting. Also great is when people include tips for making the job easier like you did. I have to agree with you that on the silver cars the door molding kit looks really nice, I’ve found that lighter colors like silver and gray allow you to see the lines of a car better. I’ve always loved black on cars but it scratches easy and hides a lot of the kinds of a car.
I have found little success with door side moldings Reason, other car doors have higher, different impact points that don't match the side moldings and you still end up with door dings. The one thing they are good at is protecting your door from the occasional pole, tree, or other object (garage wall stud) from impacting the metal. Personally, I think you would be better off with the actual door edge guards. Thanks for the how to. Cheers.
Nice look voy a 2020 sti a month ago will be following your videos to see how you go with your car. Are you planning on voiting the warranty with mods?
I've been thinking about putting the carbon fiber trunk trim on my sti for a while. Im not sure about the way it looks on wrb but on white or silver I think it looks great!
...it looks nice, but it is only trim. all the cars at the dealer I bought mine from had some w/pop pkg #3 and had the trim. In some ways it looked a bit tacky on all colors except Black, followed closely by gray and Lapis blue. Mine (pure red) is w/o and the rear looks cohesive w/o a randome strtip of black in the center. Up close, you can tell it CF, but from 10'+ away, it just looks like a black (accent) strip.
I remember you owning a WRX 2015 I believe. Just a question about that, did you solely stick to Premium Gas? I noticed a local gas station started selling 93 Premium with Ethonal, have you ever used that? I've been sticking to 93 Premium. But heard ethonal helps the engine run smoother.🤔
ethanol helps with emissions and absorbs water molecules in fuel, but it takes away from the actual power/energy in that same volume of gasoline. you will get better fuel mileage (and possibly power) out of 100% gasoline (E0) and as the percentage of ethanol increases (up to 10%), your mileage will go down sightly. E10 (90% gasoline, 10% ethanol) as it is called is safe for cars that are not flex fuel and will not (theoretically) harm non-ethanol safe rubber components.

That looks really good brother. A great video. Subies forever.
Just installed mine! Thanks for the tutorial! Easy install, looks great, and is functional!
My Sti is exactly like yours. I was thinking to move the door edge guard though. Plus I have not added a door molding
Liked me subscribed!
Will this piece adhere to the body of it is ceramic coated? My vehicle is coated by feynlab.

Thank you!
Screw that. I'm paying someone for installation.

Awsome
Meh. Ngl didn't think you'd put this on. I think it's a bit tacky. Not super keen on the look (door guard strips). Trunk looks cool though 😎
