Actually we literally can't prove that the sun is equally distant to the earth in both ways, due to the fact that we can't prove that light goes equally fast forward and backward. But we did establish that it doesn't matter, as it wouldn't break our current laws of physics either ways. This is a pretty interesting and crazy topic tbh.
What direction is forward?
So, if the multiverse is real, and ANYTHING can happen in said multiverse, what if one of there's a universe where the multiverse theory isn't real? If you travel between universes to the one where the multiverse theory isn't real, can you not leave the multiverse? Can you travel outside of the multiverse where the multiverse theory isn't real?
@@X-Ter It doesn't even have to be opposite directions, it's impossible to determine if the speed of light is the same in *any* direction. To measure the distance, you'd need to know how long something has travelled at which speed to get there. Basically, if it takes a year for light to reach something, let's say a planet, then that planet is a light-year away. However, we have to wait for the light to come back to us, and measure how long it has been since the light left, and came back, so two years, and cut it in half, because in theorythe light made the same trajectory to the planet and back. As we cannot measure when the light actually arrived on the planet, we cannot be sure that the light didn't actually travelled two years to planet, and then came back instantly. Or travelled one year and three months, and came back in nine months. There is no way to know, as a human on this planet would take as long to get us the information as the light would take to travel, so we arbitrarily decided to cut it equally and that the light, in models, will move at constant velocity in every direction.
