  • Welcome to my touring channel.
This is another short, ‘coffee & biscuits’ length video offering a full account of the ‘Timmelsjoch Pass’ section within Ep1 of my ‘Alps with Attitude’ motorcycle tour from June 2019.
Firstly, I apologise for the wind noise from my lowered motorcycle screen, as it was particularly warm, and I needed the extra breeze on the day! Anyway, at the new toll station, there is a restaurant, car & motorcycle museum of about 230 classic exhibits and the bottom station of a cable car.
Onwards, up the many bends on the Austrian side of the ‘Timmelsjoch High Alpine Road’ road to the fantastic summit (2,509m) with another restaurant, a viewing gallery with the history of the building of the Pass and great panoramic views. Then, down the many hairpins on the other side, with far reaching views over the surrounding mountains to distract us, on our way to the hotel for the night in Braies, Italy.
This video includes most of the footage that I had to cut from my Ep1 video edit. I hope this ‘taster’ will give you the interest to explore Episodes 1 & 2 of the ‘Alps with Attitude’ tour, if you haven’t already.

It looks great on a Smart TV, as it’s filmed in HD.

Great video, I've driven the Timmelsjoch myself last summer, Also Austria>Italy. And also on a Triumph Explorer (just a little older) Can't wait to go there again.

Hi Arnoud, thanks for your comment, much appreciated. I'm kicking myself, that we didn't take the time to look around the motorcycle museum at the toll station! Let's hope we can all get back to 'normal' touring in 2021. Cheers, Paul.

This video captures the T/joch experience really well.
PJY Motorcycling consistently one of the best, if not the best, motorcycle touring vloggers on UA-cam. 👍

Hi John, sorry for delay in responding to your comment but something weird is going on at UA-cam...I think their backroom system has a virus too, as not all comments are being flagged up to me for a response. I agree, that's why I started recording them...been on loads of trips in past but no real record of them, to look back on! Thanks for subscribing 👍

Well that's decided my trip for September 2020. I was last there in 2006 and we stayed in St Leonardo in Passiria. The Timmelsjoch and Grossglockner are my all time favourite passes. 👍😁😁

Stunning scenery, looked kinda busy even in June. Where did you stay? Planning a trip next year to do some of these European passes but I am on a budget.

Hi JR, thank you for your comment. You'll find all the hotels are listed at the very end of Ep1 & 2, in the final credits but this wasn't a budget trip. May I suggest that you check out all the upcoming trips on the motorcycle club www.pemc.co.uk, as the costs are pretty good IMO and one of my friends, Martin Young, within the club is actually doing a one hotel, 5 day trip in July 2020 for £550pp on a sharing basis

...22 max, but they get booked up quickly! Paul.

@@YarroMoto Thanks, looking at the snow, I'll be there around beginning of June, (11th June, Bach Festival in Leipzig) so want to do the Alps beforehand.
