    You know what's scary? That Cerberus bot chasing you in Cynosure isn't a warbot. It's a run of the mill maintenance bot that only became invulnerable because of the AI infestation. Imagine how unstoppable it'll become if it infests a real up to date warbot.

      Hopefully the next cyberpunk includes elements of horror in the same way that ending included it. That was honestly scarier than most recent horror games I’ve played. It makes you feel absolutely helpless

      You get a small glimpse of the latter too a bit earlier with the Chimera spider tank fight, though without the rogue AI DDOSing your implants. And it takes a four-level fall and a top-down impact by several tons of heavy machinery to even crack the armor.
      However, about Cerberus, it isn't exactly run-of-the-mill machine. It was a hazardous environment maintenance bot prototype with tech that was more advanced than even the tank from before.

    Johnny himself states the primary theme. That a measure of life is how one faces death. Not just the final death that brings the destruction of consciousness, but the ever present process of entropy. Everything fades in time. Perhaps it is only now that the speed of this transformation is fast enough for a single generation to notice rather than have it creep generally unseen over multiple generations in centuries past. We all in the end become memories. Our challenge in our lifetimes is to become a memory worth remembering.

    It's the game, that hit me hardest in my 35 years of gaming. I wept an hour straight, when i first ended it - on a new years eve, alone in my apartment, hearing the fireworks outside, seeing the end credits roll.
    I am thankful for your work and point of view on it.

    Mindful. Thoughtful. Well written. This video makes me want to buy a PC and start playing Cyberpunk. Keep it up. This is the type of gem I love to stumble across on UA-cam.

    Cyberpunk 2077 is my all time favorite. I used to consider it behind rdr2 and Ghost of Tsushima. But I find myself playing it again and again and again.

    Hey man.. this video was very well made. I appreciate the time you took to highlight some of the strongest themes and messages present in the story. I chose to save so mi as well and truly feel it was the right decision given v's inevitable circumstances. Johnny tells v to never stop fighting. Now im in space as a night city legend working for blue eyes. Still fighting. Still not giving up. I essentially followed so mi to space to be in the clutches of the same mystery man. This.. felt like the right ending for me.

    I started this game late November of 2023 and wow I was immediately captivated by the world that was being shown to me entirely engrossed playing the main story for hours on end all the side missions all the gigs all the ncpd scanner hustles every single thing phantom liberty has to offer and I can confidently say this one of if not my favorite played games of all time even after finishing this game with nothing else to do I still find myself looking for any excuse to play beating on thugs or doing those car delivery missions and it's hard to accept that it’s over I miss this game I miss learning about this world I miss when I didn't know anything about it besides Keanu Reeves and a depressing anime from 2022 I want more Cyberpunk 2077 | don't care what critics said in 2020 it's good NOW I miss playing this game man

      Honestly Cyberpunk was one of the only games where I just went around and actively sought out all the tiny missions (like the scanner missions) just because I enjoyed the game and the gameplay so much. Its such a good game

    In terms of the ephemerity of life and body, I'm reminded of a line from the first chapter of Neuromancer that's stuck with me "His ugliness was the stuff of legend. In an age of affordable beauty, there was something heraldic about his lack of it."
    I think that is the one line at the core of Cyberpunk body esthetics and true counterculture within it, Vik for example, whilst not being ugly (quite the opposite in fact) is one of the few unchipped characters we meet throughout the game (outside of most of the Aldecaldos but they aren't in the Night CIty Zeitgeist and they have a Ripper so...) By not following the flow of upgrades upgrades upgrades, he is the true member of counterculture. I remember hearing this in an analysis of Edgerunners but I can't think of who said it, the crew might be Cyberpunks, but they are in no way rebels, they are essentially contractor wetwork agents. (I think it might have been Professor Viral but not certain)
    anyway, great video, much enjoyed !

    Cyberpunk and PL, both remind me and make me feel like when i played the Metro series. The world is so well build and believable that i feel slightly depressed and down after i finish playing it. Cyberpunk is not a feel good game, it was not as the Witcher series, an adventure, CP2077 feels real in a way, and that is what makes it not fun, but at the same time one of the best(if not the best) story i ever played in a game.

      What ist dieselpunk

    • @LiannaBabeli
      @LiannaBabeli Місяць тому +1

      @@Capybara_is_King Dieselpunk is effectively steampunk, but everything is about the realm of fuel, combustion, and gasoline. It's very heavily premised on post-apocalyptic ideas of how gasoline becomes all encompassing, similar to Mad Max or other such metaverses. It's just as dystopian and harsh, but lacks the overall feeling of hope or potentiality as cyberpunk, solarpunk, and steampunk. It's very dark and cruel, overemphasizing the potential destruction and limited resources of natural fossil fuels.
