I live and die for John Mulaney’s stories. He should put out a twenty hour audio book of him just talking about his day... I could go to sleep laughing every night!
He should just livestream his whole day. I'd watch.
Michael Hughes Absolutely.
Omg, I'm totally on board with 24 hour Mulaney. I bet he's even funny in his sleep.
i would buy that
I would love to hear an audiobook. Or a podcast.
“I was born in 19....8...2” immortal John Mulaney trying to think of the year to say that would make sense with the age he is supposed to be.
brb247ful YES EXACTLY
hahahhahah
John McLean? John mulaney. It's a John M conspiracy
he's still trying to have an alibi for killing princess diana
@@thesnowqueen89 he’s been in his bed all night. Check the television, it’s still warm.
I’m dying just imagining how cute 15 kids chiming “Hi, Mrs Mulaney” at Anna at the same time would be it’s just ADORABLE
Who's Anna?
@@seanwelch71 John’s wife
Respect to John and his wife for opting out of having kids, but I also desperately want to know what a kid raised by them would be like.
That's the only sad part. The kid would be perfect.
Petunia is spoiled enough. You want a kid in the world raised by two pushovers? There’s enough of those.
(The child would, no doubt, be very funny and stylish, tho.)
sydster999r u did not lie
In 25 years, he would be Pete Davidson
I imagine they'd have a zoey deschanel type of energy
Who are these kids' parents and why are they leaving them with Princess Diana's murderer?!
"I was in my bed the whole night"
You can’t prove that! He has a good alibi, considering he was in Wisconsin and TWELVE
hey you can feel the tv, it's still warm
I can’t believe this dangerous man is walking our streets.
That tall child looks terrible
I wonder how many of these kids have bullied him for his feminine hips.
/im done
Look at that high waisted man!
No! That's the thing I'm sensitive about!!!
Don't bully this proud asian american woman!!!
NO THATS THE ONE THING THAT IM SENSITIVE ABOUT
"Does your wife know you don't want kids?" 😂😂😂
I too watched the video
She does now!
Kid asked a valid question, LOL
If she's ever watched his specials, yes, honey, she does
“I was born in.... *hesitates* 1982.”
Proof that he’s immortal. He’s forgotten how old he is.
since this new special is coming, i’m so happy we get to have MORE john mulaney talk show interviews!!
Indy Kana never enough
Yesss
YASSS
i know!!!!
Ah you’re so right!
i love that he treats the kids like regular people instead of looking down at them 😤😤
At*
+Allie Smith ~ He'd make an awesome dad, I think, and imagine how much richer the world would be w/more Mulaneys in it. (I say that as a child-free person myself, so no normie pressure here, simply an observation.)
Yeah! that's something that a lot of people don't seem to get. Kids just want to be treated like people like the rest of us, and they notice when you're treating them in a condescending way or making fun of them behind their backs. You can treat them like equals while still keeping things age-appropriate.
Spammy Hell well... y’know.... sometimes you know.... and.... y’know
That’s because he himself is a child
Im so pleased John Mulaney is tapping into the frankly undermined extreme comedic potential of children.
Helen Monaghan me too!!
Genuinely curious about word use. You're meaning "undermined" as "not mined enough"?
Me too!
@@PhysicsHelps I'm assuming you are not a native english speaker? They meant to write "under-mined" which would mean not mined enough as you correctly assume. They instead wrote the compound word "undermined" which means "to be lessened in power or ability", which is not what they meant, as that would make no sense.
“Hi Mrs. Mulaney!” Idk why but that’s just very cute.
I love John so damn much! ❤️❤️
It’s so sweet that he made a point to mention the kid’s names throughout his stories and give credit to their work! John is the best :)
"Li'l SNL" would be a hoot as a one shot thing.
(*or 45 seasons of it..
I can't believe Lorne turned it down! Amy Poehler would have made something hilarious!
Bugsy Malone

I mean that's pretty much what All That was.
The “America has a lot of work to do” kid has a bright future ahead of them 👌

Future President

...ial impeachment inquiry prosecutor.
one of the many reasons i absolutely love him is that when he said "this little girl" he corrected himself to "not a little girl a wonderful girl named Camile" like i think its so sweet that even though he's working with kids he doesn't belittle them as children he speaks about them as he would speak about anyone he's working with, child or adult.
4:57
"hi mrs.mulaney" is just so adorable, they are both so lucky. :))
As someone who also doesn't want children and is just one year younger than John, it's really refreshing to hear from a major celebrity who is opting to be child-free.
Edit, 2021: WELP. 😳
Hey I'm 34 no kids. ✌. You aren't alone.
Heartland Sadie team no kids
I'm retired, never had kids, never regretted it, still don't.
🌈 Childfree 🌈
Same here. People act like it’s some huge evil thing not choose not to have children. I’ve got 4 sisters and 2 brothers. They each have at least 2 kids. I’ve got enough nieces and nephews...
I am very awkward with kids, sadly, because gosh, I'd love to be the friend of the kid who said, "America has a lot of - work to do."
Who else watched this thinking you were going to see a child singing "You Oughta Know"?
I'm sorely disappointed
Janica Janssen me....😔🤚🏻
Somebody please..."GIVE JOHN MULANEY HIS OWN TALK SHOW!"
He's the face of the future hosts!
Joey BoX0RoX Yes!! They need to have Seth replace Jimmy Fallon and then give Seth’s show to John!
@@hr6505 Great idea! I'm not a Fallon fan at all.
I live for John Mulaney, he’s quite simply the best comedian around these days, but think he might be best remaining an awesome guest, rather than a host. Just my thoughts 🤔😉
I'll just wait about 15 years till Stephen retires and John will get the Late Show 😉
But i wouldn’t want anyone else to talk during his talk show and just would want to listen to him the whole time
John is my FAVOURITE guest on Seth’s show. I can never get enough of him.
Tied with Amy Poehler
@Kilo Mintoni That was so articulate-you've convinced me
Seth loves him to death. He's a talk show host's wet dream. Seth goes, and then there was that thing with the thing and he gets ten minutes from Mulaney.
It's partially how hilarious Mulaney is, but tbh I think a big part of it is how much he and Seth seem to legitimately like each other
i know!
"Work to do..."
Kid understands the world better than the President.
I HOWLED at that part.
+New Message ~ Little Kid 2020!! (We're ignoring most of the Constitution anyway, what's an age requirement.)
I see you on EVERY John Mulaney video and I'm loving it :D
Kids understand where the world goes once the curtains are closed better than the president.
"Li'l SNL" would be a hoot as a one shot thing.
There really aren't many appropriate bits of that song
It's just a song about cross-eyed bears, right?
The chorus only really lmao
@@jbinmd I instantly thought of "...and every time I scratch my nails down someone else's back I hope you feel it". 0_o
"Would she go down on you in the theatre like I did."
I had this cassette tape, but the only lyric I can remember is the “cross eyed bear” bit. I’m going to have to read the lyrics now...
I freakin' adore John Mulaney. He's never on TV enough for my tastes.
Isn’t he on The Flash?! 😂
I concur 1000%
@@rockanroleropr3467 lol!
@sgt pep who's loose lips?
John wanted kids on snl?
Did he accidentally reinvent All That?
Henry Smith Exactly!!
Isn’t snl now mostly the cast of all that anyway?
The Anachronistic Life just Keenan Thompson
Keenan has been in a sketch show for 300 years.
You know how much I love this man? As much as he’s afraid of secondary locations.
You want it? Go get it! ;)
They did add kids to SNL, his name is Pete...
and this is his lawyer.
"Does your wife know you don't want kids??"
Gold
I agree with him. I’m a teacher who teaches kids aged 8-11. One of my fave thing to do is talking to them as if they are not kids.
When you talk and treat them as your equal (instead of talking down to them and/or being condescending to them just because they are much younger than you are), it’s amazing what the things that they would tell you about.
Seriously, this would make it easier for you talk to them and understand them. Because they feel respected and in turn, they would also respect you and actually talk to you.
(Also, the reason why I talk to kids the same way I talk to adults is because I’m very awkward around kids. I don’t know what to do and I can’t act sweet like other people. So I opted to do what I did and was actually surprised by the result.)
Me too! In my 4tb grade math and science classes, I have Q & A sessions, and we talk about investing in 401ks to mitochondrial eve to the best way to do all the rides at Walt Disney w
World ( and yes there is an orderl.
Dee, I'm laughing at someone who is very awkward around kids choosing to go into teaching, but bless you - maybe you've figured out the secret (or *a* secret, anyway.) But seriously, your point about them feeling respected... Kids are perceptive, and they can tell when they are being treated as "less than" or unworthy of respect, so when you actually treat them *with* respect, it really lets them step up to that.
@@svyt Hahah. I fell in love with teaching when I worked as a TA when I was doing my master degree. At first I was thinking of teaching older kids like high schoolers but then somehow got into teaching younger kids. I honestly love it, though I am still awkward around them 😂
And now everyone hates him because he met someone else and changed his mind, the sheer audacity of the man
He just got out of rehab. Chances are it wasn’t planned. He was just having fun and slipped one past the goalie.
The hate against him is so weird and parasocial. Dude was struggling with an addiction, separated from his wife, went to rehab, married someone else and had a family. People change. He didn't do anything evil/immoral, goddamn. I used to say I didn't want kids either but people change their minds sometimes when they get older.
I love how he has to think what year he was supposed to be born in, as if we believed his immortal ass was really born 1982
What do you mean?
1 Carl I want you to look at him and tell me he doesn’t look like he did stand up comedy in the golden age of capitalism.
I’m loving John’s casual attire
I'm so used to him being in a suit, whenever he isn't, it makes my brain itch for a second as I adjust to it.
That shirt is awesome with that jacket.
Wilma FistFit Very Christmasy!
When I started loving Jon he didn’t ever wear a suit
Is this the same jacket that tan France made him buy?
When Seth turned to get that picture, I really hoped he was about to pull out a tarantula.
I'm so glad I'm not the only one!
I wish he came on at least once a week.
I misread the title. I thought John and a child were going to sing "You Outta
Know". I'm so disappointed.
“Do you have kids?”
YES HE HAS A LOBBY BABY
Here I am watching in 2023, John and Olivia Munn's son Malcolm turned one a few months ago!
Nice to hear someone publicly and clearly say that he and his wife don't want children. Women especially get so much crap for that.
I don't want children either; it's ok to not want that.
People not wanting to procreate should not be a weird thing. We just don't want them
Same with people not wanting to get married.
preach
That makes sense
"What made you decide to work with kids?" something about the words and the delivery made me immediately think this was a Dateline special.
every comment section of a video of John Mulaney has so many inside jokes from other interviews/specials that anyone who is not a die hard fan of him wouldn't get. i luv it
Seth is always genuinely delighted whenever John came to the show, it's so much fun to watch
Man, John Mulaney is just delightful.
I like how he referred to his two coworkers "Seth and Amy" like he forgot who he was talking to.
That's right kids, your parents might have been famous if you never existed
I have children who are my world. I still have a career that I love and it fits my skills, personality and I’m passionate about it but even that was born out of wanting to be able to remain home with them. Without them I wouldn’t feel complete.
That being said, I respect other people who choose not to have children. For whatever reason (financial, maintaining freedom, health, etc) Being a parent is a lifelong commitment to someone you have never met. That takes faith, and a bit of stupidity to sign up for 🤣
I think it’s great that he & his wife know what works for them and are making the conscious choice to be a family of three (you cannot forget Petunia!)
So many people have children because “it’s time” or they’re told they “should”. Not everyone should be a parent. Some people are too selfish. On the other hand I’ve met many childless by choice who would make amazing parents, but it doesn’t mean they want to or should. Being good at something does not equal happiness/passion/calling.
If they ever do decide to have children, I picture John Mulaney as a child but, they’d dress him in suits everywhere they went and demand people call him Mr. Mulaney, no first name BS. He’d be their business associate or roommate, not their child 🤣
I just watched The Sack Lunch Bunch and I can TOTALLY picture Lexi knocking "You Oughtta Know" out of the park. Her song with David Byrne was my favorite.
Kids say the darndest things. Cant wait to see that paired with John Mulaney's humour.
Me, not knowing this song, looking it up on Spotify: “would she go down on you at a theater?”
😮
"I thought it was funny, and I needed something to do."
Story of my life
I’m all for the no kids unless you want them camp (me too), but it’s a shame for John as he’s such a loveable, personable, empathetic and funny fella who’d actually make a fantastic Dad!
Well he’s young yet, and people change - and things don’t always happen the way they’re planned, AND a lot of the unplanned bits turn out to be the best parts of life, so I wouldn’t mourn just yet 😉
lol the most inappropriate song choice
So he asked a kid to sing to him "Is she perverted like me?
Would she go down on you in a theater?" and the parents still allowed her to go to the audition?!
parents of child actors aren't known for being the most upstanding and virtuous bunch
IrianGaming yeah but notice how she only did parts of it I’m sure her parents had a hand in that
"I just started thinking about kids talking like me and I thought - that's great"
That was so Fred
do you think the sack lunch bunch kids know about Mulaney's divorce
I don't want kids because my childhood was horrible and now I feel like I can finally live
@Anna M. It's great to know what I want
I love John, that’s it, that’s all I wanna say. One of the few people born in my birth year who make me feel less old 😂👍
And now John has a kid. But not a wife. What a switch!
Love John Mulaney!!
(and of course you too Seth)!!
Happy ‘Impeachment’ Holidays Everyone!!!❤️🎄❤️🎄❤️
I thought Seth was turning around to get a tarantula. Missed opportunity there.
John would make a great game show host.
He can’t help it he’s a proud Asian American woman. Go tiger mom 🐅!!!!!
“I thought it’d be funny and I needed something to do”
... boy if that ain’t me 😂
Yeah, the part about not wanting kids and does his wife know he doesn't want kids... yikes.
2 wonderful men on screen. :)
Stay strong, Mulaneys! There are enough humans out there, we don't all need to procreate.
Respect to John and his wife for opting out of having kids, but I also desperately want to know what a kid raised by them would be like.
💕 how does it feel to be God’s favorite?
He is GORGEOUS!
That shirt/blazer combo is straight outta 1982.
The scattered quiet intrestingly murder because owl systematically colour following a long-term asia. young, odd meal
Didn't it seem like john almost forgot his birth year?
He's gotta take a page from Kenneth Parcell and say "Nineteen eughb**mumble**"
I feel like he could film a whole other special with just set stories about these little kids
he could write a whole new special solely based on things that happened while making this special
Is it a coincidence that I got an Alanis Morrissette ad before this video?
Maybe not, but I've gotten ads for her new musical-I assume that's what you got ads for-before totally unrelated videos.
Algorithm more likely
john working w kids might be the best thing ever
Why do smart people don’t want kids?
Smarter people are more likely to overthink and over-plan to the point where it's too late by the time they may or may not even consider it as a reasonable idea. Stupid people don't think about having kids, they just do it, and do it more, leading to more stupid kids. There's a whole movie about it (Idiocracy)
I could hear him talk about this all day. They sound adorable.
The old-fashioned breakfast fortunately fit because jellyfish collaterally trip with a flat epoxy. cautious, zealous root
You can tell that Seth is good dude by how many people that he's worked with and over in the past come on his show.
I had a dream about him last night! How weird.
john may not have kids but he's influencing them a lot, and that's good.
John Mulaney AND a bunch of gen z kids???? God this is gonna be too powerful
I laughed while breathing and almost choked to death.
The opening verse of "You Oughta Know" contains the lines: "Is she perverted like me? Would she go down on you in a theater?" so uh, yikes
I loooove John Mulaney interviews! Merry Christmas to me!
John with children is the most adorable thing ever
LOL...my ad was for Alanis.
Me too lol
John Mullaney. Such a treat.
this aged like milk i fear
I thought this was Grant Gustin from the thumbnail.
"but only the appropriate part"... ??
Had to go back and listen to the song.
It is very weird to see him talk about how he and his wife don't want kids. It would be like seeing an interview with Robert Blake where he makes a point of saying he would never kill his wife.
He's a very silly man.
I could honestly listen to backstage stories about John commiserating with kids for hours.
How times do change.
Who are these kids' parents and why are they leaving them with Princess Diana's murderer?!
now I wanna visit the planet John is from soooo bad
