It’s kinda sad that she thinks video games can’t make you feel. Any type of media done well enough can and will make you feel something and The Last of Us is masterful at doing just that.
@@SARGEHALO666v2 it's a common misconception that people that don't play games have. Not really sure why, i think a lot of people think of games like Mario and other just for fun types when they don't really play games much

If I could give one piece of advice, it would be to not get distracted during the cut scenes. Immerse yourself in the story.
V-Jose Playing Card Archive Yup, just like when I saw another youtuber upload her dead space playthrough on UA-cam. She streamed it and had been staring at the screen for a majority of the time that she couldn’t immerse herself in the game and as a result didn’t get scared at all.

I think you spend more time talking with your chat because you know your reactions to the game are boring as hell. Also you don't even bother sticking around that intro quarantine area to see what's going on. You were basically rubbing up against Tess that whole time instead of looking at the surrounding environment.

It’s funny how natural using the right thumbstick to swivel the camera is to us (console) gamers, and how totally foreign it is to new gamers.
Yup Nikki’s face is the same as everyone who has played this game by the time the prologue is over.
It’s amazing how they stopped the game exactly where the episode 1 of the show ended. I never played the game so I’m gonna watch the play through after each episode😎
Naughty Dog has really mastered the art of Single player, they've also created Uncharted 1-4.

Nikki, I'm impressed. I have a PlayStation and I'm familiar with the controls and I didn't play this game. I panic too much in horror games so I gave up early on.
You probably figured this out but this is probably the worst game to try to learn controls on. 😂
AAAAHHHH! Yes, it's happening!!! I loved watching people playing this, then playing myself when the game came with my ps3. I wasn't expecting this to happen til maybe December, and it'd be like a Christmas gift to watch you play this game! Christmas came early. (comment made before I even started watching :)

To clarify, because the dev team that made this game has stressed this so much. These aren't zombies but people who are infect with a fungus. They aren't undead but they aren't themselves anymore either.
So glad I checked out your playthrough even tho it's 3 years old! it's so much fun seeing Nikki learning how to play and dealing with really scary game at the same time 🤣👍

I've seen this intro so many times and I cry EVERY time. My worst fear is to be in this type of situation and not be able to keep my children safe.

I know it's been 4 years but I've been watching your guys' reactions to tv series for a long time, never knew that you guys make video game contents as well! Glad I found your gaming channel with one of my favourite game series!
It’s been a minute and unfortunately this channel isn’t active anymore but we appreciate the support.
A bit of advice: Steer your character using the camera (right stick). Just point the camera where you want to go and walk forward. Maybe you already got the hang of it (I just started watching), but it's a common issue for people who are new to modern 3D games.
Also, don't feel pressured to rush. There's a lot of cool stuff to stop and look at!
You'll be an expert before too long. :)

I have seen this game played all the way through at least 10 times (other youtubers). I just finished my first ever playthrough of this game yesterday (didn’t have a PS3). Even though I know the entire story and pretty much every battle, I spent 30 hours playing. Awesome game

This game is amazing narratively but it’s actually a bit complicated gameplay-wise since usually the best way to deal with enemies is to sneak past them and when you’re forced to fight, the controls are definitely not the best, specially for beginners.
I’d lower the difficulty to easy so you can experience the story and the cutscenes and cheese your way through the gameplay sections or I guess stick it out in normal and hopefully Nikki can make it through the whole game but I seriously doubt she will without some help in some very hard sections where stealth is definitely preferred to confronting the enemies head on given that bullets and arrows and other materials are limited; and sneaking around in games requires patience and learning the patterns of the enemies to get past them without fighting them.

Artoria Pendragon While it’s true that sneaking past is best when it’s possible, for beginners I wouldn’t recommend it. Until you’re well acquainted with the game it’s pretty hard to get through an enemy area without being detected. And if you’ve been sneaking past enemies that now means that you now have enemies behind you and likely in front of you trying to kill you. I think that stealth killing enemies is preferable to sneaking past, so that when the player is detected, they have less enemies to worry about and hopefully none behind them.
This game is WAY too hard for beginners. IMO.

Also, it may have been a good idea to let Nikki handle the shoot outs despite freaking out. Yes, I know. It would take a lot of patience but the trying-and-dying cycle is how she can gain experience. Let her freak out. She will build tolerance eventually.

Hahahhaa I have the exact same problems with the fricken camera controls whenever I play games, which is almost never 😂
you can have the camera any way you want so its not the game :D dont make it harder on yourself. i would like to know who told you that nonsense of the camera being backwards on normal? normal is just noormal :) really tough to watch but its entertaining :D
Yeah, Nikki is obviously a beginner and controlling both legs movement and head movement simultaneously is very hard at first but it does get easier with more practice.
watching you try to play with double inverted controls was maddening

Hey Steven, I'm not sure this game is the best choice for Nikki's blood pressure, but I applaud her for trying it. This game requires a lot of stealth combat as the game doesn't give you a lot of weapons or ammo. Just a suggestion but maybe you could take over this playthrough and she could take over for you in the Walking Dead playthrough which is a lot more story based and less combat. Anyway love you guys.

Everything is always important like the dialogues it's there for a reason.
Just like when watching something you got to watch it all listen to it all it's more enjoyable and in games its easier when you follow instructions.
Like the scenes you got to pay attention like when they were being scanned to see if they infected well when they got to Ellie they were going to kill her and Ellie knew that so she fought back but it to took you guys too know she infected after she showed her bite mark because you were not watching

When you were switching the controls constantly I thought you were maybe left-handed. You have to play video games constantly to get the hang of hitting different buttons and joysticks simultaneously, especially games that are not The Walking Dead-style.

I'm 6 months late, but if I were giving you timely advice I would have advised that looting and scavenging are essential for this type of game. It's a post-apocalyptic survivalist game and nothing is available in abundance...except for bricks.
Man it really bugs me when people talk during cutscenes, other than that I hope you guys had fun with this game.

Livestreams do not ever translate well into narrative playthroughs for youtube.
Constant interruptions, inability to focus on the dialogue, and storylines.

It's OK to get acared but Christ play the damned game don't just start shooting wildly and flailing the camera around. I felt like I was watching the Blair witch
