You can use your flashlight with infected. They do not notice it. Runners can SEE you, however, if you stand in front of them. But they do not notice light. Clickers can't see you or light. Also, the shaky controller symbol at the corner of the screen shows up whenever your flashlight is out of charge and is flickering. Shake your controller a couple of times and it should fix your flashlight.

I started replaying the game for the first time since 2013 in Survivor difficulty (2nd most difficult) and died quite a bit. The trick is to come up with new strategies when something just isn’t working. The game makes you think and plan your attacks. Sometimes you can just run past the enemies with minimal engagement.
Just a small correction: the infected are not zombies because they didn’t die before they turned. There are 4 stages of infection that are detailed in a military pamphlet that may be in your inventory. You’ve been exposed to the first and third stages, Runners and Clickers.
I hope that you guys look for and read the notes. They really compliment the story and also expand the world.
Infected are basically hosts for the fungus (which actually exists IRL. Ophiocordyceps Unilateralis but it only affects insects). The people are still alive, but are simply infected by the fungus which takes over them. They are hosts, and are very humans. Which is why they can die of things normal humans can die of: head trauma, asphyxiation, getting shot anywhere, bleeding, starvation (when they starve and die, if they are in a dark and damp area, the fungus starts spreading out of their body and spores start coming out of the body and start filling up the space (like any other fungus/mushroom). That is why the zombies here don't need to get their brain destroyed to die.
Don't worry about your allies. They won't be noticed by your enemies up until the point where they basically collide with each other. They will only start shooting when stealth is broken by you or if an enemy gets way too close to them (rare)
Hey Steven I watched you play this over on your Twitch channel. I think once you figure out to use the distraction to stealth "behind" the enemies to get the silent kill the game gets a lot less frustrating. Also to silent kill "Clickers" you need to have a shiv. Not trying to tell you how to play but I think it will help. Look forward to the next episode. Hi Nikki.

Ok here are tips on crafting n sum things u were asking chat.I have beat the last of us 26times on grounded difficulty,the hardest mode so i know . K crafting that 75% shiv thng u were unsure of.That screen is your upgrade for joel,u can the duribility of ur shiv , ,improve ur health ,ur weapon shay,etc.U do this by using the pill bottles u looted.It says how many u have at the top and 75 was the amount u needed 4 the 1st upgrade. As far as that thing u could not pick up,it was a candybar,u couldn't use it bc ur health was full. U actually should loot areas b4 wasting a health kit especially when ur health is nearly full already and u waste a health kit.Candy bars n cans of food are not collected there used immediately if health isnt full. And R2 Steven when things have 2 crap n their in ur face stop shooting R2 to melee .Clickers cannot b punched bt a melee weapon yes.I watched that revolver u picked up have 1 bullet in it for a hour but u had 7 bullets,,always be reloaded n ready. Reload is R2 or L2. That revolver is way better theen the gun u mentioned had more bullets. U have 2 kill things.That area u got frustrated in ,which i know ur learning but stealth kill every chance,bricks n bottles are ur bf,,u can kill 2 to 3 walkers w a well placed throw of a bricks n bottles then molotive.Anyway i could say alot more but ill wait till i see if u have questions as u go.Glad to see ur playing this,naughty dog who made this game is the best devs and the last of us is best game ever created ,its a shared view in gaming community .I sent u a friend request on PlayStation .I game alot,play n platinum all the great games,and been trying my hardest to write game reviews.I been w you guys from the beginning and pateron for a few months,,i been out of work or i would a subbed to twitch as wll.Luckily i found employment 2day so i can drop a sub to twitch

I agree with you but I get the frustration some people have. If this was Kingdom Hearts, no one would be saying anything. But This game is a masterpiece, and you lose out on something when you’re not invested. It’s like giving someone an amazing novel and they skip chapters. It would be annoying. Doesn’t bother me really, but I get the complaints.

I know I'm very late, but I have a bad habit of commenting on really old videos. Anyways, I love your reactions to tv shows on your other channel, but when I saw that you guys reacted to one of the best stories, videogame or not, I almost teared up I was so happy.
I hope that the controls aren't causing y'all trouble now. For most folks, Up in Up, Down is Down system works for the camera. Definitely try and figure out the sensitivity. Some people like it flipped. Also, if possible, I'd like to see Nikki play a bit as well!

Luv to see older guys play games, I know you are not that old, but you have difficulties playing the game, with mechanics and stuff, but you do have the gamer souls, don't want to leave mats behind and want to explore everything, getting stuck every where lol, u awesome and so patient, though these kind of games deserve your full attention on cutscenes
Loving the streams so far! First time stumbling upon your channel. You guys keep forgetting to use the “Focus Hearing” though! 😩 that would help you out soooo much through the stealth scenes.. When it comes to groups of zombies in this game I would throw a brick or bottle to lure them to a spot then throw a Molotov in the same spot as soon as the close in on where I threw the brick or bottle. Then I would stealth kill any survivors.
Watching this after the show and the fact you’re having to chat and communicate with the stream other than pay attention to all the parts of the game is super distracting and frustrating lol I think you should replay without all that

The comments that come through to help you guys don’t seem to come through quick enough. So no one really throws hints for you guys. Easy mode is what you guys needed. That’s when you’ve never played a game in your life. Normal mode is for when you’ve had experience with some games and can sync the joysticks and buttons.
You do realize these clips are almost a year old, right? Things have changed a lot since we played part 1 and it wasn’t necessarily an issue with never playing games, I played games my entire life, just took some time off because life hit. It was new to Nikki which is why she stopped and I took over and I was still rusty.
Stikker Gaming yeah, I was so late watching these I just came for the reactions to this masterpiece in the wake of the sequel. I wasn’t trying to be aggressive or anything.
Oh I know, I just like to explain our situation when it comes up. I do wish I played part1 the way I’m playing part2. Think I would’ve appreciated the game even more than I already do.
Stikker Gaming I’m flipping between your TLOU1 and TLOU2 vids. I enjoyed this game quite a bit. Playstation is doing pretty well with its exclusives. It’s essentially an interactive movie. The plot and the scenes are written like a movie. Things are quite different for TLOU2 now.
You should try Telltale Game of Thrones game
found it to be really disappointing. Also telltale is pretty much gone, so the story will most likely never get a conclusion.

You are some horrible gamers as well as streamers. Not only do you guys play like parents who’s kid had you pick up the controller for the first time in your life, but there’s a VERY simple solution to steaming and playing games. All it takes is saying “hey chat, if characters are talking, I’m not going to” and boom! Suddenly, you’re capable of being immersed in the story better, perhaps more of your chat would be respectful of the cutscenes too, you won’t miss anything important, etc. you guys are GREAT reactors, but this is certainly not your forte.
Not our forte? Maybe don’t speak on things that happened 8 months ago? Nothing is perfect at the start and things are always a work in progress. Think we are doing just fine as streamers, thanks though.
