Thanks God I found this video! I'm in the middle of rebuilding my Echo's engine. Sent the block to the machine shop and they allegedly bored it out to 0.5mm. When measuring the ring end gap clearance I realized that all four cylinders were tapered because the gap is bigger on the top than on the bottom. So I sent the block back to the machine shop to get the job right for what I paid. I'm waiting for the next videos on this rebuild so that I can finish mine lol, keep up the good work!
Amazing videos. Thank you so much. Finally I understand. 1 echo has 368k and another I just bought couple years ago 182k. Cannot wait to do my first engine rebuild
Very nice detail re Echo engine disassembly/reassembly. Great advise regarding oversize pistons from Safety Auto products. Mike my only comment is make sure when you always state units on your measurements (ie english or metric units). Otherwise bravo on a wonderful series of videos. I am currently rebuilding my 295K mile echo. Burning 1 qt oil every 500 miles. The videos have been valuable.
Hello brother thanks for rebuild engine toyota yaris 1.3 video its really helpful . I have burning oil in just one piston what shall I do for it? . And thank you for videos
I have watched many engine re-builds and you do the best job of patiently explaining every step in the process. And now I understand piston ring bevel, that was new to me. The Tin Can Toyota and I thank you. Question: many builds talk about and show balancing the piston and rod assemblies, do you consider this? Or is the Yaris a basic enough build that you don't think it is needed?
I think balancing the rotating assembly is mainly for performance builds. When I did my eclipse motor I paid to have that done. With these oem toyota engines I think the factory did this anyways. My crank shaft for this 1nzfe has drilled holes in the counter weights indicating the crank shaft was balanced at the factory.
@@MakeItMike Initially I pour around 3.7 liters as filter is also changed Then at 3k kms I pour the rest 300 ml. And then go to 4k to 4.5k kms. And at 4.5k dipstick shows near to low mark.
Nice videos on this engine...!... Anyone having the ruff idle problem while in drive with this engine ? 2004 Scion XB 129,000 miles. any help would be great, thanks.
Your machine shops are expensive but professional Whereas here its inexpensive but no one cares about measurements And that's why rebuilding isn't successful in Pakistan 🇵🇰 mostly

Not a mechanic don't have a car but I watched part 1 and hunt for part 2 will be waiting for part 3 you are a good teacher thanks for your patience

Thanks ! I feel confident from your video that I have the ability to rebuild my Scion vb engine.
Sweet! Been waiting months for the follow up lol

A lots of love and respect from me you teach everything very deeply 😊
Amazing stuff Mike!, Was never clear about piston specs and orientations. Great job 👍
Waiting for the 3rd part
crazy amount of information. thanks!
Thank u sir for your valuable lessons
Thank you for the work you do. Can you send me the Toyota Eco 1.3 engine manual
Neat you can rebore with the sleeves that are in there
Good job bro
How about covering the crank balancing part ?

I like this video bro is super interesting , i have a question. Can i put a turbo on this engine . I have a scion xa 2006
Yes people have turbo'd these engines.
did 1sz and 2sz engine use the same gasket set and piston rings
Would you share us the manual as a pdf

I need to mine xb 2006 engine it uses oil. Do these pistons use lose ring technology?
My 1nz engine is burning oil like I can go around with 4 liters and at 4500 kms , the dipstick shows near to low mark.
That's what happened to us. We were burning at least 1/2 qt every 500 miles.
@@MakeItMike but if I am not needing other oil bottle for top up. I think I am ok
What do you think?
@@MakeItMike does it also cause bad gas mileage?
As I am getting 8.5 to 9.5 km/l

@@skhurshid248 as long as you don't run the engine dry you're good. We topped ours off for several years.

Great video. But if you need this basic detail of how to build an engine you should not do it unsupervised.🫣
@@stupidbird4U yes, when in doubt have the machine shop audit you. Usually they are cool and will give free tips.
