Just buy the TE next year for half the price. There equipment price is always slashed vs Ping that does not or very little. Thus get more bang for your buck if you hold out until the new season starts.
That Ping 10k has some kind of magic where it keeps the spin down while still being insanely forgiving. Thats where the extra distance comes from on ones you dont catch perfect. That TEE is mighty impressive though especially for the price.
Have the Ping 10k. Bought in April and went with Stock shaft reg flex. Snapped the shaft 2 weeks ago on a drive. Hit it down the middle though. Carls Golfland replaced the shaft under warranty but I switched to the stiff shaft version. Love the club even more! Less fade with the stiff shaft for my swing speed. Have both Ping 430 irons with steel and Tour Edge Hot Launch graphite shaft irons like the TE irons better for feel! TE makes great clubs at a reasonable price. Will try the new TE driver to put it up against my G 400 in my Florida set. If I can get better dispersion, with same length at a lower price it’s a win, win, win for me. Thanks for another great video.
I obviously haven't hit the C725 yet. I have hit the G430 10k. The PXG black ops is longer, just as straight and lower spin than the Ping. I have a 17.5 in the back and 2.5 2.5 so it may be over 10k. I am going to say the c725 with the weight back will be longer than the E and the Ping. The Titleist GT4 with the weight back is longer than the GT3 and almost as forgiving. I would like to see you hit the C725 fit to you with that BRAVA shaft or similar high end shaft. Love your videos!
Thanks for the comparison Gabe! I would submit that for us mere mortals, the weight adjustability of the Tour Edge is a viable benefit as one’s game improves. The E725 being an improvement Driver could help with a fade or draw till we can hit them as straight as you and others do.
Well at 79 years old with swing speed of 85 to 88, still not sure but I have never liked the top appearance of Ping. I am a Cobra guy all the way and on Friday Nov 1st the Cobra Darkspeed will be 399.00 vs. 549.00 But with that being said, I really like the Tour edge. Be glad when released on November 1st I think? Great job. Also, you can buy a Ping 430 Max for around 400.00. I guess I am really confused with a senior moment.
If you trade or sell every year or two the ping will hold value but I generally keep my clubs for several years. I’m still playing the Mavrik Max driver. I want to try the Tour Edge.
For anyone with a case of the lefts the ping is slightly fade biased and helped me tremendously, I also own a tour edge older model and enjoyed it but anything like the tour edge 10k with a left border doesn’t suit me. Yes I would’ve loved to have spent $200 less but for my needs the ping has made my driving incredible. 2400 spin 280 carry middle or right side of fair way. Dream come true for a golfer with the lefts
Great review Gabe! I have played with TE drivers, fairway woods, and hybrids in the past and still have a #3 hybrid in the bag. I will definately look for good deals on the TE next spring.
im still waiting to see someone do a driver fight of a tour level driver of the past (atleast 3yrs ago), compared to a max forgiveness of today. like a triple diamond epic vs a max forgiving driver of today....o and without a computer sim, keep it all authentic on the course
Great video, but I was confused. In the first and third test the yellow was Ping and white Tour. But in test two the yellow was tour and white ping ????! Was that intentional or an oversight ?????
I think he mentioned earlier in the video that he would flip-flop back-and-forth to keep it fair. I am not sure why. Are they two different kinds of balls?🤷♂️🤣. But yes, it was by design…
Hi Christopher, always want to rule out any differences that might be due to the balls, so I swapped balls for each test to make sure. On the final test I used the same (white balls) to double check any discrepancies weren't due to the ball color. Hope that makes sense.
It's the ratio of ball speed divided by club head speed. It tells you how efficient the clubhead and strike are for a given shot. The max Smash is assumed to be 1.5. The closer you can strike the ball to center of the face with a direct impact (not too much attack angle either vertically or horizontally) will create higher smash factors.
I am currently playing the first gen SIM Max. Look to change next year, however I will prob lean towards the C725 instead of the E725. I don’t have a dispersion problem I need distance.
I play the ping 10k which I love. Hit 12 fairways yesterday the other 2 were very playable. But for the price difference I would have looked real hard at the tour edge
wondering if you could do a fun video of these vs something like the old SLDR driver as an opposite ends of the scale kinds of drivers....pure distance vs pure forgiveness
Better if you put these stats on a spreadsheet and compare the numbers. You some great shots with both. It appears that the PING was further on your best hits.
I had the C721 until the head cracked. They sent me the C723 as a warranty replacement. I think both sound good - but the C721 does sound slightly better.
Why buy a brand new Tour Edge for $399 when I can buy the brand new never hit Ping 430 Max for $379. I do love me some you tube golf videos but at the end of the day, people who buy these brand new at full retail aren't doing it right 😄 Love your channel, and love that you hit the ball as far as me and not 310 yards! My guess is your handicap is around an 11?? Keep up the great work!
I'm a hooker and looking for a driver that is fade biased but just as forgiving as the draw biased drivers. Wondering if the weight moved to the fade setting makes much difference on the TE E725.
Just buy the TE next year for half the price. There equipment price is always slashed vs Ping that does not or very little. Thus get more bang for your buck if you hold out until the new season starts.
This is a good tip. It's pretty easy to find Tour Edge stuff for 50% off
That Ping 10k has some kind of magic where it keeps the spin down while still being insanely forgiving. Thats where the extra distance comes from on ones you dont catch perfect. That TEE is mighty impressive though especially for the price.
Love the test, but now I think you gotta put the expensive shaft on the tour edge and see how it compares.
I'd like to see you do another comparison with custom shafts on both of them.

@@jimmypickett2449 yes I do think C725 is longer than both. Also nearly as forgiving. I just might try that shaft swap you mentioned. Thanks.
Great review. I love your enthusiasm! We are lucky to play this great game. Keep up the good work.
Very lucky indeed!
Thanks for the comparison Gabe! I would submit that for us mere mortals, the weight adjustability of the Tour Edge is a viable benefit as one’s game improves. The E725 being an improvement Driver could help with a fade or draw till we can hit them as straight as you and others do.

I'll be picking up the Tour Edge early 25 for 250$ maybe less
If you trade or sell every year or two the ping will hold value but I generally keep my clubs for several years. I’m still playing the Mavrik Max driver. I want to try the Tour Edge.
Had the C723 driver at 9 degrees and got talked into a stealth 2 and regret that change daily
@@jordandchen Stealth is just distance to forgiveness even the pros hated it
On the Tour Edge Website they do offer more shaft options at an upgrade price of $0! I’m thinking of buying one with the Ventus Red 5-R.
For anyone with a case of the lefts the ping is slightly fade biased and helped me tremendously, I also own a tour edge older model and enjoyed it but anything like the tour edge 10k with a left border doesn’t suit me. Hello Gabe, great video. I’m curious how much more distance did your BGT shaft give you over the stock Alta CB shaft?
I wouldn’t say much more distance, maybe a few yards, but I gained more contingency in direction and trajectory.
Great video, but I was confused. In the first and third test the yellow was Ping and white Tour. But in test two the yellow was tour and white ping ????! Was that intentional or an oversight ?????

Just bought the Tour Edge...can't wait till it arrives!
What length shaft do you use?
I'm planning to buy one of the 2 new TE drivers. I like the price vs performance better with this brand.
can someone tell me what “smash” is?
It's the ratio of ball speed divided by club head speed. It tells you how efficient the clubhead and strike are for a given shot. The max Smash is assumed to be 1.5. The closer you can strike the ball to center of the face with a direct impact (not too much attack angle either vertically or horizontally) will create higher smash factors.
@ thank you!
For the price difference, I would definitly go for the Tour Edge. Thanks for the review.
I am currently playing the first gen SIM Max. Look to change next year, however I will prob lean towards the C725 instead of the E725. I don’t have a dispersion problem I need distance.
I think the Tour edge is a little better looking. Which one sounds quieter and had the better feel ?
Very very similar
I’d like to see the comparison between the C725 and the ping
How about the adjustability on the TEE vs the Ping huge benefit
Cheers from Norcal
I play the ping 10k which I love. Hit 12 fairways yesterday the other 2 were very playable. But for the price difference I would have looked real hard at the tour edge
Love it! It’s such a weapon

What is your “non stock” shaft you use in your ping?
BGT Brava…it’s a beast.
white ball longer then the yellow ball?
I'm always mixing you up with the Breaking Eighty guy...then I see you drive and remember, oh yeah...this ain't that other guy. 😀
I'd love to see the Ping vs C725 as during testing you liked it more PLEASE SIR
For me there's no way the Ping is worth $200 more than the Tour Edge.
Would rather game a Ping from a few years ago though. Like Bernhard Langer
The ping g400 LST was the best sounding driver I've hit I don't know about any of the other models
I never tried that one. Interesting.
One of the best drivers made in the last 10 years it will still compete with any any newer model
The ping has a very metallic sound and tinny sound.
When the hell is Maltby going to dabble in the "10k" department? My bag is already 75% Maltby. 🤷♀️ May as well
I have the C721 and love the sound....the C723, not so much
I had the C721 until the head cracked. They sent me the C723 as a warranty replacement. I think both sound good - but the C721 does sound slightly better.
Yes, this year I really like the sound of the E725, but don't really like the C725 sound.

Where do you buy?
The discounted Ping is the regular G430 Max. Not the 10k Max.
Tour Edge really just needs much better branding. That logo has got to go.
I think they may have changed it already. At least their social media account has a new logo.
@@LetsPlayThru Interesting. It doesn’t look like it on their website. But, hopefully new branding makes it onto their clubs soon!
I'm a hooker and looking for a driver that is fade biased but just as forgiving as the draw biased drivers. Wondering if the weight moved to the fade setting makes much difference on the TE E725.
My jaw dropped reading the first three words, lol....
It appears that white balls are longer than yellow. 😊
I just can't stand the sound of the Ping drivers they do perform good it's just one thing I can't get over
GT2 >> ping Max 10k
$200.00
