Need an episode where richard can only play cards that accrue incremental advantage, seth cant draw cards, Phil cant play cards with triggered abilities and tkmer cant play kiki jiki.
I love the little extra Restriction Tomer put on himself!! Really shows that you can still have an effective deck with out all the powered up fluff!! It was really interesting to see how the deck functioned and played! It was a little reminiscent of classic EDH to me :))
Second the positivity + Tomer and Phil are straight up work horses so extra shouts out to them. Seth’s takes the last two months have been so cathartic for me lol
Seth talking about not liking the idea of a bracket system removing cards from "casual" play. Also Seth: "Should I get my Trouble In Pairs with my Enlightened Tutor?"
2:57 The Depletion lands are really underplayed. They certainly aren’t for every deck, but decks that really just want to jam the Commander as soon as possible really do like them.
Commie Commander here, Richard: I need *Insert someone other than him* to do *something that I need done* because every commander game I play with a 400 card deck. 🤣
Constantly referring to Axonil as "Ojer" sounds so weird, considering it's meant to be a title and not part of his name. Nitpicky, but still weird, heh.
When ojer axonill transforms into a land does he come untapped? Since he attacked with him? I think he transforms tapped? Correct me if i'm wrong pls 😅
22:58 am I crazy or was Richard at 38, took -7 damage, and then went down to 33? Like, was the video marked wrong, or were they just tracking health totals wrong so the editor just matched it to what they had marked down?
As a general rules the lifetotals we keep during the game are the ones we use in editing, since it gets really messy otherwise. I think we just made a mistake on this one. Thankfully I don't think the two life really changed the outcome.
Yes because infects reminder text reads as: This creature deals damage to creatures in the form of -1/-1 counters and to players in the form of poison counters. So it is still dealing combat damage.
I've been thinking a lot lately about why Commander Clash isn't interesting me like it used to. I think one of the big things I can point to is seen in this game. You take new, different, or janky cards from your themes and surround them with stupid uninteresting staples. While this was Foundations week, there were two The One Rings, a Trouble in Pairs, and an Enlightened Tutor. It felt to me like Tomer played into the theme, while other players added the theme to their existing deck templates. Additionally, the ramp meta is really wearing on me. You spend turns upon turns trying to find convoluted ways to play land ramp and build out nonbasic land packages, and then hold counters and protection until someone sneaks through a giant combo win like Richard did. I like Casual Commander, and I like Cedh. I feel Clash has become a weird hybrid of the two. It plays like Cedh except with none of the actual Cedh cards. It's like a bunch of armorclad knights decided to only fight with pool noodles. Use real swords, or just take the armor off and have fun.
forcing huge staples into decks makes them feel really fucking boring. tomers deck was clearly the most casual-fun. phil played a cute idea but ofc had some staples in probably to try to actually make it work better? seth played a generic tribal deck with every white staple. richard played a variant voltron deck with every red staple. I agree they need to pick a fuckin lane. Also if youre ever at a table with Richard just kill him first every single time mostly to get him to be quiet since he seems to somehow manipulate everybody else into doing the stuff he needs them to do so he can sneak through wins. Phil is clearly always a threat but usually plays almost no interaction which is the cheatcode there.
It's mind blowing that Richard consistently has the highest win rate... EVERY SEASON. They know this! They talk about it in the season reviews. And then they let him do it again and again and again. It is kind of lame when one person comes every week not to play and then slips out with the win. Seth and Phil are always too busy on the value side quests and ignore the actual chance at quality game play. There are a lot of good things CC offers, but their commander games have gotten very stale and predictable.
hold up what why is evereth secret lair art but like it only exists as secret lair art when from a main set. i won't complain but i don't know how other people see it if now cards exist that are from normal sets and the only print that exists looks like its from some weird special set many people start to dislike
Need an episode where richard can only play cards that accrue incremental advantage, seth cant draw cards, Phil cant play cards with triggered abilities and tkmer cant play kiki jiki.
and Tomer plays Sasaya
Timer plays vultron deck without Kaldra
Tomer makes a $5000 deck XP
Would not mind if the one ring was added to the house ban list.
Wizards, give us more coveted jewels. Less rings! The Jewel is so fun!
Terferi Protection and Trouble and Pairs too.
@@RirseDeBlood all the super boring big staples just kind of suck to watch. they're in every damn deck and it's so homogenous and dull
@@thatepicwizardguy Draw is really important, just like mana. which is why sol ring and spells like trouble in pairs get played so much.
I've watched these guys since I started playing Magic, and they've made my life a bit more fun.
Richard is a genius! The man has cooked for podcast after podcast convincing the others that single target removal is bad… setting up this moment!!!
Funnily enough 2/3 opponents at the table had instant speed single target removal in hand, they just happened to be both tapped out haha
I love the little extra Restriction Tomer put on himself!! Really shows that you can still have an effective deck with out all the powered up fluff!! It was really interesting to see how the deck functioned and played! It was a little reminiscent of classic EDH to me :))
Not surprised that Richard got Seth to do his bidding so he could win the game.
Let’s get some positivity for top comment! Love you guys, thanks for everything yall do!
Second the positivity + Tomer and Phil are straight up work horses so extra shouts out to them. Seth’s takes the last two months have been so cathartic for me lol
@ Tomer and Crim are my faves, I love them all though lol but Tomer is so down to earth and Crim’s shenanigans are S tier lol
Absolutely agree, this crew deserves the world for how awesome they are!
Thanks for all the positivity!
Love the team!!! Positivity!!!!!
Seth talking about not liking the idea of a bracket system removing cards from "casual" play.
Also Seth: "Should I get my Trouble In Pairs with my Enlightened Tutor?"
I just want to say that surveyors scope spiked in price Richard!
Richard keeps getting away with it. Does nothing gaslights everyone else then combo kill at the end lol
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Episode 257 of Seth doing the bidding of Richard :D
Why does Kykar cost four for a 3/4 flying bird wizard when he doesn’t even have an infinite, non determinate combo?
I feel bad for Tomer.. It's like only he got the Foundations memo and had to sit through one ring nonsense..
I don't know why Richard trying to make Kellan good is so on brand, but it is.
And guess who won…
@@mikov6486 wasn't even because of kellan was just a generic combo kill. honestly it was a pretty boring win but I guess we take those
2:57 The Depletion lands are really underplayed. They certainly aren’t for every deck, but decks that really just want to jam the Commander as soon as possible really do like them.
Yeah, in a proliferate deck they are probably really good.
@@whaleofdarkness also with the number of bounce lands they play also seems pretty good to reset the counters
i only know 3 commanders that use them
damia
gishath
maelstrom wanderer
and if you run white with the catch up ramp package, it's a no brainer
I love how Richard is always getting roasted for that mono black deck that only had 2 swamps 😂
They release a set full of _anime commanders_ and Crim’s not here??
Richard gets away with it again
Every time Phil ramped, Richard would live out the Vince McMahon meme, lol.
Tomer I’m borrowing your deck build restriction ❤
"New players gotta learn how to hate" - Tomer

Commie Commander here,
Richard: I need *Insert someone other than him* to do *something that I need done* because every commander game I play with a 400 card deck.
🤣
TDLR Seth wipes board for Richard. Richard wins with clear board. The classic combo.
Hell yeah mercadian depletion lands, love to see it!
Still waiting for Richard to play Tempt with Bunnies. Its the greatest Spirited Companion ever printed.
Seth is like an extension of Richard, putty in his hands. The consistency is wild 😂.
Best thing to wake up to
Hahahhahahhaha loved the Richard win 😹
38:25 phils like i need to play standard
tomer i dont know if youll see this, but id love to see your take on 100 dollar budget cleon deck from jumstart
Constantly referring to Axonil as "Ojer" sounds so weird, considering it's meant to be a title and not part of his name. Nitpicky, but still weird, heh.
tbf, they're referring to the piece of cardboard more than the "character" represented by it
Does the goldfish crew have their personal non-clash decklists anywhere?
I’d like to point out that tomer is playing mismatched basics
18:22 I just started the one piece tcg and that cracked me up.
“I have four don up”😂😂😂😂
It could be cool to see a rule 0 Legendary Commander Lands. Something like a World Tree deck, or Dark Depths and the like
When ojer axonill transforms into a land does he come untapped? Since he attacked with him? I think he transforms tapped? Correct me if i'm wrong pls 😅
The dies trigger says he returns Tapped and transformed. It won't matter that he was tapped or untapped when he died.
22:58 am I crazy or was Richard at 38, took -7 damage, and then went down to 33? Like, was the video marked wrong, or were they just tracking health totals wrong so the editor just matched it to what they had marked down?
I noticed that too, I'm guessing it's just a mistake.

@@MTGGoldfishCommander Ah that makes sense, thanks! Definitely didn't make an impact in the long run
Dont call me Shirley.
Does infect actually count as combat damage? So could Richard get the mask trigger?
Yes because infects reminder text reads as: This creature deals damage to creatures in the form of -1/-1 counters and to players in the form of poison counters.
So it is still dealing combat damage.
Does anyone know of Richard has a EDH white weenie list somewhere?
Let's go!
Pretty sure the link in the description to decklists is wrong.
Oops, sorry, fixed.

36:24 Though likely not relevant, but doesn’t Seth have protection from everything right now?
Yeah, the protection lasts until your next turn, so I'm still protected at that point.
@@MTGGoldfishCommanderSo Tomer couldn’t have taken anything from you anyway. Again, it’s not relevant.
The Immersturm Predator can target a card in Seth's graveyard.
