Something you forgot to mention is that with Survival of the fittest you can search for devoted druid, and then use it to search for Hazel's Brewmaster, making it a 1 card combo for inf green.
I'm also surprised. In my playgroup I've been crushing kinnan, rog/si, rog/thras, tivit, and yuriko with ob for a few weeks now. I feel like ob is in a great spot right now.
@@dominicyanez7960 I feel like it’s extremely efficient on what it does so you are generally getting like a 1-2 mana 3 impulse cards which is crazy plus flample is always terrifying and now that copies aren’t as good you don’t have to worry about them swinging out at you with a copied ob
@nickbradburry5187 it is! I typically just mull to a t1 set up a dmg engine then t2 ob and it just plays itself. It can win out of nowhere early and grind out that mid to late game through beats. I've been loving it lately and think more people should revisit it post ban.
Some food for thought: Rograkh is red because it was just designated red, but it could've been any other color. While it would be grossly out of pie in blue, and probably a break in black as well, I could definitely see a green or white Rograkh, with different text (not that anyone plays Rograkh for the keywords). In a world where you also had access to a green and a white zero-mana partner, which one of the three do you think would be best?
Hey Cam if you ever want to chat about rog/thras feel free to reach out! I'm the player that got top 16 @ the boil on it. Got a friendly and helpful discord for anyone interested in the deck as well.
Hey, i play a turbo verion of that deck - which performs quite well. Just wanted to check in on alternative thoughts. Do you at least have the name of your discord? Could not find it via google. Thanks!
I think esika is secret good cause the vigilance she grants to your stuff chipping in dmg and still holding blocks and untapped mana is pretty big value
I put a Glarb list together because I wanted an excuse to play dramatic scepter, and have it be good 🤣 it's plan C after Witherbloom Apprentice and Chain of Smog, and Thoracle/Lab Man plus any of the four ways to get rid of the deck. Dramatic Scepter is mostly justified in my mind because it lets me mill the whole deck with Glarb to win with Thoracle, or it lets me go infinite with Witherbloom triggers. I know Dramatic Scepter isn't great, but it's been a pet combo since Paradox Engine was banned and I stepped into cedh. So having a deck that can reasonably run it as a backup combo that wins with both my main plans is enough reason for me to put a list together.
The beauty of Tymna Thrasios is how flexible the shell is. You could expect a Devoted Druid combo deck but get smacked over the head by a Turbo Hermit build instead.
Love your podcasts, guys. Was wondering if you guys could talk about some older commanders that lost favor and see how they'd stack up against the current commanders. Something like Tasigur would be cool to see explored.
1. Kinnan 2. Tymna Kraum (super overlooked & underrated) 3. Tymna Thrasios (pretty telegraphed, “dies to removal” win com but not a lot of dead cards) 4. Tivit (mana crypt hurt the value engines a lot, but the deck still hoses all the green decks and hot take green is the absolute king right now in CEDH.) 5. Sisay (weirdly, not dead after all.) 6. Rog Si (fragile, turn order dependent, hard mulled against, hard targeted, but always a problem if not respected) 7. Magda (gas, but telegraphed if you know the deck, keep Magda off the board or don’t let her activate) 8. Tayam (more mana intensive but decent) 9. Najeela (honest, telegraphed, but the gatekeeper of top 10 usually) 10. Malcolm + decks (Tymna/vial/kediss/tana).
I'm confused, how does Tymna Thras lose to removal in a Devoted Druid loop? I can understand the Valley Floodcaller line or Displacer Kitten, but you can't really interact with the food or vehicle before it generates infinite mana. I'd swap Tivit and RogSi as well as TnT and TnK but otherwise I agree with your list
@ get rid of devoted when they target it with swift recon. Or in response to Hazel etb to target Druid in GY, swords, path bounce Hazel. To me it’s very dual caster Twinflame -esque… but in way better colors with more legs bc tutors the commanders are good. All on the stack. Yes if it resolves the game will surely end as does most any I win the game combos. Really a ton of interactable choke points. There was another tourney I had Magda fight over swift on the stack with d swat. Then Tymna Kraum drew from remora. Thrasios Had to burn fluster. Thrasios was out of blue mana Could also kill thrasios in response bc they can’t recast for a turn. I instead flash in hullbreaker and evoke an endurance… bounce devoted… It’s a great reliable T1 deck for sure but it’s not broken or anything crazy. It’s very honest and fair. Tivit is still the field general. Criminally easy to drannith, graffdiggers or cursed totem then all the green decks and Magda decks are squirming. Opp agent is still brutal the card advantage engines are a lot worse without crypt but tivit controls the board while locking everyone out of the game. Still a very easy stop 2 ppl from winning then win on turn 4 deck. I won a 20 person event in the finals on turn 2 this past Tuesday going last, worse case scenario vs Rog Si, Tymna Thrasios & Kinnan… but Tivit generally eats those decks for free. Weirdly Tivit struggles with Tymna Kraum due to the speed disparity. It’s basically an esper control shell with breech & thoracle win cons, and card advantage in command zone. So it’s able to squeeze underneath it. I think a lot of players are doing shiny new toy things right now. I think Tymna Kraum could start main decking cursed totem and start getting those results vs the decks that caught back up.
Post ban I have been playing rograkh ravos soultender as my cedh list. I am very surprised no one has discussed about land destruction for cedh, let alone the interaction mardu provides in comparison to grixis. The defense and the wide removal that most red land wipe cards do can devastating.
On the color discussion I always think in terms of color pairs vs individual colors, and after Dimir, I will always pick Rakdos. I always feel like I'm able to generate just a shitload of mana in those colors. Where I would pick mimic probably 3rd, and I view blue holding that up more than green.
Esika/Bridge is a good 5c pile because of the fixing. Get 3 mana, suddenly all your creatures are Birds of Paradise! That effect is VERY good in a value NBC style deck. It's also super unassuming. Technically it can ritual if you have enough creatures without sickness when you cast it! It also means you can run less dorks/rocks than you would have and more value creatures that become broken because they are then also mana dorks. It's not comon but ou can also make it 5c polymorph style deck without having to run polymorph cards, but that's COOKING.
I don't play the deck so what do I know, but I feel like Gornog giving your warriors evasion and pumping them up is a nice little boost for a more traditional Najeela list.

I won a tournament and top 4(ed) another in the last month on Yuriko. Rog/Si seems to remain local boogie man and I’ve seen a lot more T&T lately. Not a lot of other decks on White. Devoted Druid got me in Round 3 after a I lost counter spell war over my Cursed Totem. I was still able to pull out the win next Round for 1st place, 😀. The only other Yuriko player in our area switched over to Talion. Still a few holdouts on T&K after bans. I wonder if my local meta is much different than most.
Even though I've played Magda for 2ish years, my friends will mis time certain interaction points due to the layering on some combos and stax pieces. This is something people always forget on real gameplay. Yes, a+b combos like consult thoracle are better. Magdas are much more layered, kinda like sissy but not as much.

I’d be interested in seeing Dylan’s RogSi list, I’m thinking of putting RogSi together and want to gather as many lists as possible before actually building it. Is there a way for me to find it somewhere?

Yeah, red is not that good now. The creature copiers like Heat Shimmer were very good by themselves before the bans, and were part of a combo. But now they way worse, so heavy red lists lost card quality and winning lines.
Thrassios Tevesh is a deck I ran into at a tournament that I fell in love with immediately. (Still my #2 to Jeska/Ishai) Tevesh makes bodies that makes cradle bigger, gives card advantage by saccing them, and sometimes you just get to the ult and steal their combo commanders. You’re in thrass+black so you’ve got the good tutors and can run the brewmaster line. Because you’re not a tymna deck you don’t need to run attacking creatures.
Sorry guys, but using T&K as a honoarable mention is a joke^^ especially when Derevi is getting in your top 10... Blue Farm is atleast top 5 if not top 3. Many Ex Blue Farm players just try out T&T right know.
One thing to note Cam is that mycospawn puts cradle straight into play, even if you already made your land drop this turn. It also feeds the cradle so immediately you get one mana back off the cradle. Odds are you have at least Roger in play, if not more creatures , more often than not after Mycospawn put in cradle, you are mana positive
I don't get why everyone likes the one ring so much. It sucks for card draw. There are so many better card draw engines. Why would you pay life, more and more life for every counter on the one ring, to draw cards? Arcanis the Omnipotent, two more to cast than the One Ring and free card draw. Follio of Fancies, free draw and punishment for opponents for their draw/hand size. No One Ring for me.
Oie. Dylan’s test hand shorts have been awesome. Please continue them. Thanks.

First on release
Najeela is the best hands down stop the cap! XD
